Abstract

Traffic accidents often happen in big cities like Pekanbaru city. The accidents are usually caused by some factors such as the sum of the vehicle and the vehicle's speed that exceeds the threshold set. Therefore, technologies that can reduce the occurrence of accidents are needed. One of the technologies is Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET). VANET makes all vehicles in a network as nodes to communicate. Routing protocols are required in VANET to deliver packet data efficiently and optimally. In this study, Destination – Sequenced Distanced – Vector (DSDV) was used as routing protocols. DSDV for Pekanbaru city was simulated using SUMO and NS-2 software. This simulation uses urban condition in scenario changes the number of nodes. Network performance parameters was evaluated using Packet Delivery Ratio. The results show a network of VANET designed can work well with Packet Delivery Ratio averaged, 95.59%.Keywords : VANET, DSDV, SUMO, NS-2

Abstract

Keeping various types of ornamental fish in the aquarium must be considered when maintaining one of them is in feeding fish. For some people who have quite a lot of hectic activities, it can be a difficult task to handle fish feed when leaving the house for extended periods. Therefore, a system was designed to assist aquarium owners in regular feeding of fish, and aquarium owners can monitor fish feeding remotely. This tool works according to the fish feed schedule with a frequency of twice a day, in the morning and evening. This study uses software and hardware consisting of ESP8266 as the main control, ultrasonic sensor as a feed distance meter, servo motor as a container valve opener, RTC (Real Time Clock) as a scheduler, and a buzzer as an alarm. When the internet is connected to the ESP8266, the data will be sent to a telegram to notify the owner. Based on the test results, this fish feeding tool can work according to a pre-arranged schedule option, and is able to display notifications to the telegram application. The system that has been designed can already monitor the feeding of fish and provide notification results in the form of information on the availability of fish feed and notification of the feeding schedule for fish through the telegram application on the user's smartphone.Keywords : ESP8266, Internet of Things, Telegram

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) was created in order to improve the 3rd Generation standard of mobile phone, has much better data access speed. Planning for the optimization of the LTE network in Rokan Hulu District which is a rural area proposed because the implementation of LTE in the area has not been distributed well. The design of the LTE was specified at a frequency of 900 MHz using FDD duplexing with 5 MHz and 10 MHz bandwidths. The purpose of this study is to optimize the design of LTE networks with good condition of LTE standards in Rokan Hulu Regency. FDD is a method that is more resistant toward interference, uplink and downlink processes can be occured at the same time. It is also suitable in rural areas. In this paper, the design of the LTE network compares the work results of 5 MHz and 10 MHz bandwidths in Rokan Hulu Regency. The parameter test results display FDD techniques of 10 MHz and 5 MHz bandwidth. Coverage by signal level in FDD with 10 MHz bandwidth is superior. It is percentage 93.35% in signal level ≥-95 dBm, while in FDD technique 5 MHz bandwidth has 89.17% coverage by signal level at signal level ≥-95 dBm. So, based on these parameters, it can be concluded that the FDD technique of 10 MHz bandwidth is feasible to be applied to Rokan Hulu Regency.Keywords: LTE, FDD, bandwidth, coverage, signal level.

Abstract

Communication between vehicles plays an important role in increasing comfort such as reducing vehicle density and security, namely regulating vehicle speed for drivers and passengers. Advances in technology offer concepts to improve comfort and safety in driving, namely Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET). However, VANET has network characteristics where the network nodes are moving very fast. In this research, a comparison of the performance of two topology-based routing protocols is performed. The topology in this research are : Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) and Dynamic source routing (DSR) on VANET. (OLSR) is a proactive routing protocol that determines the routing table by updating every time a link changes, (DSR) belongs to a reactive routing protocol that only selects paths or updates paths only when there are new route or when a route is cut off. Both routing protocols are simulated using Network Simulator 2 (NS-2) with a scenario of changing the number of nodes. The two protocols are compared based on the parameters of the Packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay. From the results of the study it was found that the DSR routing protocol has a better PDR value of 99.80% compared to OLSR of 99.53%, the average end-to-end delay from DSR is 0.13 seconds, while OLSR is 0.12 seconds. This shows that the DSR routing protocol is superior to the packet delivery ratio and OLSR routing protocol excels at end-to-end delay Keyword: VANET, Proactive, Reactive, OLSR, DSR

Abstract

Computer Network is the fundamental part of telecommunication. Computer network has been developed to fulfill the needs of humanity. Nowadays, the centralized network is needed to control the network traffic easily. Software Defined Network (SDN) is centralized network that provide the separated data plane and control plane in different system. This study provides the network Universitas Riau (UR) with SDN. The mininet was used to design and simulate UR design network using SDN. Theresult shows that the simulated network has the delay value of 0.506 ms. Compared to delay of UR existing network value of 13.874 ms, the simulated network provides a better performance than the existing network. In conclusion, SDN can be considered to implemented in UR network because its delay value is less than ITU standard 150 ms and less than existing network.Keywords : Network, Centralized, SDN, Delay.

Abstract

WiMAX technology has high data transfer speed, large access range and mobility capability. To access the WiMAX network required Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). CPE require a little dimension antenna and integrated it easily. Therefore, microstrip antenna is a good candidate for this application.  This paper, discuss design of 6 elements planar array rectangular microstrip patch antenna that can be used for CPE WiMAX application in 3.3 GHz (3.3-3.4 GHz). Microstrip antenna is designed using Aperture Coupled technique to improve the bandwidth. The design and simulation of microstrip antenna require Ansoft HFFS v.13. The simulation results show that antenna can operates in 3.3-3.4 GHz frequency. The value of the impedance bandwidth is 203.5 MHz (3.2405 to 3.444 GHz) or 6.09 % at VSWR ≤ 1.5 and gain is 7.4358 dBi. Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a technology designed to address the challenges of high speed telecommunications needs in every transmission. Some providers of telecommunication services has implemented technology LTE, However the LTE frequency allocation is very limited in indonesia so the implementation of LTE in some areas have not been evenly in such as in Kampar Regency. The purpose of this research is to know the number eNodeB LTE Network that covers in Kampar. This study uses Link Budget for calculating eNodeB in Kampar regency the for frequency used is 900 Mhz with badwidth 5 MHz and 10 MHz. The calculation of eNodeB on this research using calculation Okumura Hatta. The results for bandwidth 5 MHz is 7211 for Urban, 2049 for Sub urban, 316 for Rural and for bandwidth 10 MHz is 1015 for Urban, 246 to the Sub urban and 42 for Rural.Keywords: LTE, Link Budget, eNode B

Abstract

In the field of machinery, both private-owned transportation or company- engaged in transportation, such as two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. lubricant quality measurement is important in keeping the engine be durable and long-lasting, timely lubricant changing can save the maintenance cost and also provide driving comfortable, on the other hand, lubricant changes that is not on time can cause the engine be break quickly and lavish in maintenance costs, lubricant quality can be identified by measuring the changing of viscosity. In this study lubricants quality measurement tool is designed by measuring changes of viscosity based on Internet of Things, by knowing the changes of viscosity can determine the condition of each lubricant, by applying the internet of things technology on measurements can make monitoring be easier because measurement data are sent and stored in the database, by android application in monitor of the measurements using internet network whenever and wherever, from testing results using method, conducted on three different lubricants samples obtained that correlation relationship between voltage and viscosity with linear line equation namely: SAE 10W-30 lubricants are y = 6.4896x + 74,076, SAE 20W-40 oil are y = 9.11x + 154.61 and SAE 15W-30 lubricants are y = 16.013x + 129.8 where as x is the voltage and y is the viscosity the average error of each tool measurement is of lubricant quite good only 2.61%. Sending measurement data by arduino devices is also very good with an average delay less than 300ms.Keywords: Lubricants, Viscosity, Internet of Things.

Abstract

The rapid development of telecommunications requires better network technology. Computer networks are a very important and fundamental part of the development of network technology. There are still some unsatisfactorythings in the conventional network architecture such as non-centralized networks that cause difficulty in managing networks on a large scale. Centralized network is needed to be able to control network traffic more flexibly. SDN (Software Defined Network) is a centralized network concept that physically separates the control and forwading plane. In terms of capabilities, SDN is able to monitor networks more efficiently than conventional networks. This research applied a SDN network at PT Chevron. Mininet was used to design and simulate SDN networks at PT Chevron. The simulation results of network streaming audio show a delay of 12.81 m / s, throughput of 0.291 mbit / sec and packet loss of 0%. The simulation results show better performance compared to conventional networks that are currently still used by PT Chevron. Keywords:Network, SDN, Delay, Throughput, Packet loss.

Abstract

Information and communication technology developing are very rapidly, because human needs keep growing. Human safety in driving is one of the important factors in technological development. VANET is communication between vehicles, so that it can be used as a smart traffic information system. The VANET network is an ad-hoc network that does not have a fixed infrastructure and the rapidly changing network topology VANET is vulnerable to various attacks. Analysis of AODV routing protocol using 150 nodes with no attack and with blackhole attack scenario. This research uses Network Simulator 2 and SUMO software to make a model of node mobility. The results show that the network simulated without attack has 99.56% PDR value the PDR value with blackhole attack is 0%. In conclusion, VANET network performance is otherwise influential towards blackhole attack because, the difference value lotwes no attack PDR value & blackhole attack PDR value is so significant.Keywords : VANET, AODV, Blackhole, PDR.
