Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this activity is to disseminate real-time, 24-hour aquaculture water monitoring devices remotely at the Salman Assalam Science Islamic Boarding School in Cirebon, West Java. The Salman Assalam Science Islamic Boarding School manages various types of tilapia, catfish, and pomfret cultivation ponds used to support the economy and fulfill the food needs of the students. The activities include planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this activity include the development of a laboratory-level device, comprising a buoy, solar panels, and electronic modules with several types of electronic sensors. The device is equipped with a dashboard to observe real-time measurements in fish ponds, including parameters such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH, air temperature, humidity, battery voltage, total dissolved density, and solar cell voltage. Data is presented in the form of graphs and tables accessible via a web browser, allowing partners to access it from laptops or smartphones.

Abstract

Since United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared endangered languages, researchers have revitalized endangered languages in many fields. This study discusses a bibliometric analysis conducted to investigate research on the topic of revitalization of endangered languages in information technology. The study's aim is to assess research topics by identifying authors, institutions, and countries that influence research collaboration. The Scopus dataset (from 2002-2024) was obtained from journal articles (n=62) and conference papers (n=76) and visualized using VOSviewer 1.6.20. The analysis outcomes reveal a fluctuating trend with an increasing pattern. The United States, Canada, and China were identified as the top three countries in terms of publications. Meanwhile, the University of Alberta, Université du Québec à Montréal, University of Auckland, and University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa are the most prolific institutions on this topic, with two authors from the Université du Québec à Montréal, Sadat and Le, being the most productive. The dominant research is related to computational linguistics. Meanwhile, topics such as phonetic posteriograms, integrated frameworks, and artificial intelligence are some of the potential research areas that can be explored in the future. Its implications for exposing the extent to which the development of endangered language revitalization can be accommodated in the field of information technology.

Abstract

Music is one of the business opportunities within the creative industry, and the number of music schools is rapidly increasing in major urban areas. The City of Oulu in Finland has various music school providers that use websites as digital portals of information about their schools. Given the critical role of persuasive websites in marketing, this study aims to evaluate the websites of private music school providers in Oulu, with a persuasive system approach. To achieve this objective, a content analysis was conducted on fifteen websites and studied how they influence their users persuasively. Our method analyzes the website using a checklist-based approach grounded in the Persuasive System Design model, which comprises 28 principles categorized into four groups, namely: Primary Task Support, Dialogue Support, System Credibility Support, and Social Support. The analysis revealed that implementation of persuasive principles was uneven across the website, with the following average application rates per category: 28.57% (Primary Task Support), 28.57% (Dialogue Support), 38.10% (System Credibility Support), and 9.52% (Social Support). Several providers have applied the Persuasive System Design model according to each category, but not optimally. These findings suggest that there is still considerable room for improvement in the websites of private music schools through an optimally persuasive approach to support and motivate users to access information. The implication can encourage providers to optimize their website persuasively, engaging a broader audience and serving users properly.

Abstract

Learning about fiber optic materials in vocational high schools still faces several challenges, particularly due to limited practical equipment and the absence of interactive digital learning media that students can access independently. This has implications for students' less-than-optimal understanding of the shapes and functions of fiber optic equipment. This research aims to design and evaluate Augmented Reality-based learning media as an interactive tool to introduce fiber optic practical equipment to students. The method applied is the 4D development model, encompassing the Define, Design, and Modified Develop stages. The Modified Develop stage is an adaptation of the Develop stage, with a primary emphasis on the evaluation and improvement of the learning media design. This approach is carried out through two rounds of usability testing, without proceeding to the Disseminate stage. In the testing, 15 students from the Computer Network and Telecommunications Engineering (TJKT) department participated as research subjects. The evaluation shows significant progress in the media design quality after revisions, reflected in the increase of the UMUX score from 6.7 in the initial testing to 7.0 in the subsequent testing. Additionally, there were improvements in various aspects, including effectiveness, efficiency, learnability, error aspects, and satisfaction. Students successfully completed all tasks with better performance and expressed high satisfaction with the design. Therefore, it can be concluded that the designed Augmented Reality-based learning media has potential as a support for fiber optic learning in vocational high schools and is worthy of further development toward the implementation stage.
