Abstract

The rice import plan to be carried out by the Indonesian government is a very interesting issue to discuss considering that Indonesia is known as an agricultural country. Based on data shown by BPS in 2017, around 29.76% of Indonesia's population works as farmers. This means that when rice import activities are carried out, the welfare of 31.68 million people (farmers) will experience a decline. This study aims to analyze the Indonesian government's plan to import 1 million tonnes of rice, from the perspective of the community that is broadcast on the data and analysis on social media. Meanwhile, data and social media analysis can be seen on (Twitter) obtained through Drone Emprit in the period 13-19 March 2021. The results found based on the data displayed by Drone Emprit show that the issue or plan to import 1 million tons of rice is an inviting policy. many pros and cons in society. The policy for rice imports is strongly rejected by the majority of Twitter people because farmers will enter the main harvest, which is when rice imports continue, what happens is a decrease in the selling price of rice from farmers. And as a result, the farmers will experience a lot of losses.

Abstract

The high increase in Covid-19 in Indonesia is a concern for many parties. Thus, the policy taken by the government is the Imposition of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). The policy reaped the pros and cons in the community. This study aims to analyze the community's perspective (netizens) expressed through social media in assessing the implementation of emergency PPKM. This study utilizes qualitative descriptive methods and uses secondary data through social media in the form of Twitter and is analyzed using a content analysis approach. This study focuses on analyzing the trend of public perception (citizens) regarding the topic of conversation about rejection and demonstration (Tolak & Demo) of PPKM through the results of Social Network Analysis (SNA) obtained through Drone Emprit. The results show that most PPKM policies get widespread rejection in the community because the impacts are mostly negative, such as getting poorer people because of limited access to work. The domination of the denial was driven by pro-opposition accounts that campaigned against PPKM in the form of demonstrations. The contribution of this research shows that Twitter can be a space for public participation in responding to government policies (democracy). This research has limitations because it only focuses on Twitter, so further studies need to look at the use of other social media such as Instagram and YouTube.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the social construction of family roles in migrant workers’ income management to build the family economy viewed from the aspects of knowledge and skills in management, as well as attitudes and actions in managing the income. This research was conducted using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects were selected based on proportional sampling, namely people who live close to the families of migrant workers, extended families of migrant workers, and community leaders. The results of this study indicate that, in reality, some couples of migrant worker families can manage their income and household well, resulting in the income of migrant workers that does not have meaningful impact on the family. The findings of this study contribute to developing a theory of social construction, where reality is the result of individual understanding, which is used as a shared understanding in the community. This shared understanding gives a new stigma to the reality of migrant worker families. The limitation of the research is that the data used are only obtained from subject interview data and case observations in the field, so the research findings limitedly describe the study of social construction in general. Future research needs to use data obtained not only from field observations and subject interviews, but also from the data from Scopus database and the Web of Science (WoS) database.

Abstract

The construction of an oil refinery in Tuban Regency, a National Strategic Project (PSN), has been rejected by the Tuban community. This study aims to explain the efforts made by PT Pertamina and the government in resolving the land acquisition conflict regarding the construction of an oil refinery in Jenu, Tuban Regency. The researchers used the descriptive qualitative method, collected data using interviews and documentation, and analyzed the collected, reduced and presented data. The results showed that the parties resolved the conflict through litigation, mediation, and negotiation. The process resulted in the provision of employment for locals, scholarships for outstanding students in five affected villages, development of fishermen's cooperatives in Mentoso Village, food and social assistance for farmers, opportunities for locals to continue working on the acquired land before the construction, and several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs around the premises. After the resolution, out of 1219 parcels, 1222 were acquired with a total land area of 814 hectares from 961 owners. This research only focuses on the agreements between the parties. Further studies are advised to observe PT Pertamina's and the community's consistency in adhering to the agreements.
