Abstract

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the social construction of family roles in migrant workers’ income management. Many migrant worker families are unable to manage their income correctly. This social construction would affect the community by giving negative stigma to the families of migrant workers. This research was conducted using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects were selected based on proportional sampling, namely people who live close to the families of migrant workers, extended families of migrant workers, and community leaders. The results of this study indicate that, in reality, some couples of migrant worker families can manage their income well, resulting in the income of migrant workers that does not have a meaningful impact on the family. The findings of this study contribute to developing a theory of social construction, where reality is the result of personal understanding, which is used as a shared understanding in the community. This shared understanding gives a new stigma to the reality of migrant worker families. The research limitation is that the data used are only obtained from subject interview data and case observations in the field, so the research findings limitedly describe the study of social construction in general. Future research that can be conducted based on this finding is investigating the effect of poor income management on the increasing migrant workers’ family disharmony.

Abstract

The presence of political buzzers in many countries shows that the democratic process has experienced a serious setback. This paper specifically looks at the practice of working political buzzers in Indonesia and Thailand. These two countries were chosen because the condition of their democratic institutionalization is still low, marked by the massive violence, provocations, and black campaigns on social media due to the actions of political buzzers. The internet, which is supposed to strengthen democracy by providing space for egalitarian and democratic political participation through social media, has become a new arena for the practice of violence and the creation of political polarization carried out by political buzzers. To clarify these assumptions, this study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The main data was obtained from literature studies. This study shows that political buzzers in Thailand and Indonesia have the same motivation, namely maintaining the continuity of power. The difference lies in the power relationship, where in Indonesia, buzzers are not directly and legally affiliated with power, while in Thailand, it is the opposite

Abstract

This paper specifically looks at the practice of repression in Indonesia's digital space, which strongly contributes to the phenomenon of digital authoritarianism in 2022. This study uses qualitative analysis with a literature study approach to clarify this assumption. The primary data from the 2021 Safenet report on digital rights in Indonesia is reinforced by relevant journals, books, and other credible online sources. This research shows that Indonesia is getting closer to the symptoms of Digital Authoritarianism with six indicator, namely the increasing criminalization experienced by citizens, journalists, and activists using the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law), internet connection termination, online or online censorship in the form of closing certain sites without going through previous legal processes, the increasingly widespread government supervision of citizens' activities on the internet especially after the establishment of cyber police and the rise of digital thuggery on social media.

Abstract

East Rombiya Village, Sumenep, Madura, is a compelling example of a region actively advancing sustainable village tourism by leveraging its local potential. This study aims to analyze the social innovation initiated by the Village Government through the Village-owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in developing the "Somber Rajeh" tourist destination using an Asset-based Community Development (ABCD) approach, and its impact on community empowerment and the village economy. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the village government, BUMDes managers, and the local community. The results show that the implemented social innovation successfully transformed natural springs into sustainable tourist attractions, created new jobs, increased the village's local income, and strengthened community participation in tourism management. The analysis reveals that synergy among the village government, BUMDes, and the local community is the critical success factor of inclusive and independent tourism development. This study suggests that local assets can be leveraged to generate effective solutions for sustainable village development, grounded in community empowerment.

Abstract

Land disputes involving religious organizations often pose significant challenges, especially when historical documentation is fragmented or incomplete. This study focuses on a land ownership conflict between a private individual and the Muhammadiyah organization in Singosari District, Malang Regency. The main objective of this research is to assist Muhammadiyah in resolving a property dispute concerning land utilized for educational purposes, namely the Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 3 Kindergarten. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the research involved initial legal consultations, document verification, stakeholder interviews, direct field observations, and multiple rounds of coordination with both local and central leadership of Muhammadiyah. The findings show that both parties hold different legal claims: one based on an old eigendom verponding title from 1948 and the other on a recently issued land certificate (SHM) in 2023. Despite these conflicting claims, negotiation and mediation were identified as the preferred methods due to the parties' shared institutional history. The study concludes that while the resolution process is still ongoing, the PAR method facilitated a structured, inclusive, and empathetic approach. It is recommended that similar conflicts within religious or social institutions adopt early legal counseling and structured non-litigation pathways to avoid costly and prolonged litigation. Future community service programs should focus on strengthening legal awareness and improving asset documentation practices within civil society organizations

Abstract

Agricultural policy is a government effort in regulating, controlling aspects of development in the agricultural sector with the aim of maintaining and increasing food yields. The great results of the objectives of agricultural policies will be able to be realized if they can be translated into concrete steps and can be implemented consistently in the field. Agricultural policy directions try to see the concept of policies developed and practices to realize the goals of agricultural policies in Indonesia. This study focuses on institutions, regulations and issues of inadequate budget allocation, human resources that are less qualified in the management of land and agricultural products. The purpose of this study is to describe the direction of Indonesian agricultural policy in facing the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0. This research uses qualitative research with a literature review approach. The results showed that there was no synchronization of agricultural policies at various levels of government, low budgets for agricultural development, spatial production practices at the expense of agricultural land in boosting regional income and the low utilization of technology and diversification in the use of agricultural technology showed that agricultural conditions in Indonesia were at an alarming level. Therefore, it is necessary to immediately synchronize agricultural policies at various levels of government and the allocation policies for agricultural development funds.
