Abstract

The introduction of the revised 2013 curriculum, which is currently being used in the education curriculum in Indonesia, has had a new impact, particularly on the activeness of students. However, a new problem arises when a very different learning system is applied directly to students, necessitating adaptation on the part of both students and teachers. The purpose of this study is to identify the learning model used by teachers at SMAN 2 Lumajang, as well as the level of student activity at SMAN 2 Lumajang in implementing the revised 2013 curriculum system. The teacher can make an assessment based on the level of student activity. The quantitative descriptive method is used in this study. Data was collected by distributing online questionnaires via Google form to students at SMAN 2 Lumajang, and a literature review was conducted to further deepen the study in this research. According to the findings of this study, the implementation of the revised 2013 curriculum that the government has proclaimed has not been fully successful due to the discovery of a low level of student activity when the revised 2013 curriculum policy was implemented, and the 2013 revised curriculum was not fully implemented as it had been prepared, because there was still no alignment with the conditions of the students being taught. As a result, there is a need for the government to conduct a review of the revised 2013 curriculum in order to improve the quality of national education.

Abstract

Abstract

Cognitive biases can be problematic and dangerous in history learning. This study aimed to identify the extent to which the independent variables of the case study method and augmented reality influence the dependent variables, as well as evaluate the strength and direction of the relationship between these variables in reducing the cognitive biases of pre-service history teachers. The method used is multiple linear regression to identify the extent to which the application of the case method and the use of augmented reality in learning affect the dependent variable under study. The results showed that augmented reality contributed to the understanding of the history of prospective pre-service history teachers more than the case study method. The effect of the case study method was 7.6% on historical knowledge, and augmented reality media had a 13.9% effect on historical experience. Lecturers can use augmented reality in learning for prospective pre-service history teachers to increase student understanding of history learning material and reduce cognitive biases. This research has implications for using technology and digitalization in history learning for prospective pre-service history teachers to understand history, conceptions, and past events and reduce bias. Understanding history is essential for prospective pre-service history teachers. Prospective pre-service history teachers must also understand a historical event broadly and from various perspectives. Technology-based learning in history learning is one of the right ways to avoid cognitive bias.

Abstract

Within two decades in West Sumatra, some artists' paintings contain visualization of letters, numbers, sentences, which are sometimes arranged scattered, even upside down. This is unusual considering that contemporary painting has developed into more sophisticated forms. This research aims to explore the meaning of text visualization in contemporary paintings of artists in West Sumatra. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with Hans-Georg Gadamer's hermeneutic approach. The object of study was selected based on purpose sampling, namely the paintings of Syahrial, Yasrul Sami, Yon Indra and Dika Adrian. The results showed that the meaning of Syahrial's painting text hints at a critical mindset in viewing the reality of life facing the value conventions of Western theories that give distance to the mindset of the community towards culture. The meaning of the text in Yasrul Sami's painting is a representation of the inner and psychological self over the problems of life. The meaning of Yon Indra's painting text leads to the essence of the attitude and mindset of the younger generation. The meaning of the text of Dika Adrian's paintings, leads to cultural consumption, social context and environment of today's young generation. From the results of the research, it can be concluded that the text in the paintings has personal meaning and social meaning. The difference in the way the text visualization is expressed in the work has an influence on cross-generational cultural consumption.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities in integrating digital literacy skills into history education. This research focuses on understanding educators' difficulties in integrating digital technologies into the traditional history curriculum. Educational technology as a means and facility to support education and learning is no exception for historical knowledge through access to historical websites. This study analyses digital literacy toward historical knowledge using the Bukittinggi City history website. This research is quantitative research with a survey approach with closed-ended questions. The research population is the millennial generation in Indonesia. Samples were taken with a non-probability sampling approach with purposive sampling. This study involved 831 respondents spread throughout Indonesia. The data analysis technique is partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results showed no difference in historical knowledge scores between males and girls. With a value of 0.697 and a 69.7% variance, the coefficient of determination (R2) result demonstrates significant volatility in historical knowledge. Additionally, Q2's value serves as a gauge for the model's predictive usefulness. The predictive relevance of the model's independent variables was assessed using the predictive relevance test (Q2). Men might be more adept at using online resources to broaden their knowledge of the city's past. Understanding the disparities in digital literacy between men and women will significantly impact the design of educational and literacy programs in Bukittinggi. Enhancing digital literacy can promote access to and understanding of the city's history, especially among women

From these problems through history learning can build the character of students. The purpose of this research is to build students' character through past stories of historical figures in the history lesson of the independence curriculum.
