Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic produced an economic slowdown in Indonesia, especially Bali Province, as seen by a decrease in Regional Original Income for cities/regencies in Bali Province during and after the pandemic. The tourism sector needs to be reviewed for its potential and strength in collecting regional income, This study which includes 108 observations, attempts to examine how the number of tourist visits, length of stay, hotel room occupancy rate (TPK) and number of restaurants, affect original reional income in Bali Province between 2010 and 2021, This study uses panel data for for multiple regression analysis, which is then analyzed with E-Views 10. The outcomes clarify that tourist visits, length of stay, TPK and number of restaurants together have a noteworthy impact on original regional income of Bali regencies/cities in 2010-2021. Tourist visits and TPK have a positive and in part noteworthy impact ect on the original regional income of Bali regencies/cities in 2010-2021. Length of Stay and Number of Restaurants do not partially influence the original regional income of Bali regencies/cities. Promotion and development of post-pandemic tourism needs to be intensified and maximize the source of Regional Original Income for regencies and cities in Bali because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Economic development plays a crucial role in improving community welfare, particularly through the tourism sector and the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Bali, as a leading tourist destination, significantly contributes to the regional economy through this sector. Sanur Beach in Denpasar City, which supports Bali's tourism industry, hosts numerous souvenir MSMEs that contribute to local economic activities. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a decline in tourist arrivals, adversely affecting the income of souvenir MSME operators. This study aims to analyze the influence of QRIS usage, product variation, and working hours on the income of souvenir MSMEs at Sanur Beach. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 70 MSME operators in the area. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that QRIS usage, product variation, and working hours simultaneously have a significant effect on MSME income. Individually, each of these variables—QRIS usage, product variation, and working hours—positively influences income. This study concludes that digital innovation through QRIS payment systems, product diversification, and extended working hours are key factors in enhancing the income of MSMEs in the tourism sector. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of payment digitalization, improving product appeal, and optimizing operational hours for MSMEs to attract tourists.

Abstract

As a developing country with one of the highest populations in the world, Indonesia possesses an abundant workforce in terms of its working-age population. Among the 38 provinces, Bali has consistently shown the highest labor force participation rate. However, a more detailed view from 2010 to 2024 reveals that the proportion of the working-age population classified as part of the labor force has experienced fluctuations. This study aims to analyze both the simultaneous and partial effects of the unemployment rate, education, and regional minimum wage on the labor force participation rate (LFPR) in Bali Province from 2010 to 2024. The study was conducted in Bali Province, using secondary data published by Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The analysis technique employed in this study is panel data regression. The results of the panel regression test indicate that the most appropriate model is the Fixed Effects Model. The findings show that the variables of unemployment rate, education, and regional minimum wage simultaneously have a significant effect on the labor force participation rate in Bali Province. Partially, the unemployment rate has a negative but insignificant effect, education has a positive and significant effect, and the regional minimum wage has a negative and significant effect on the labor force participation rate in Bali Province. It is recommended that the government and private sector collaborate in formulating appropriate policies to increase labor force participation by improving the quality of education and designing minimum wage policies that align with both labor needs and market capacity to pay wages.

Abstract

The trade of secondhand clothing at Pasar Senggol Batubulan, Gianyar Regency, has become a rapidly growing economic activity and an alternative source of income, particularly amidst limited formal employment opportunities. However, the income of secondhand clothing traders tends to fluctuate and is influenced by several internal business factors. This study aims to analyze the influence of price, business capital, working hours, and product quality on the income of secondhand clothing traders. An associative quantitative approach was used, involving 61 traders selected through a saturated sampling technique. The data analysis method applied is multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that price, capital, working hours, and product quality simultaneously have a significant effect on traders’ income. Partially, all four variables also show a significant influence. Product quality is the most dominant factor affecting income, followed by capital, working hours, and price. Adequate capital enables traders to increase stock and improve product quality. Longer working hours provide greater opportunities to serve consumers, while competitive pricing boosts sales capacity. These findings underscore the importance of managing internal business factors to enhance income and contribute to the economic empowerment of communities in the informal sector.

Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that, simultaneously, working capital, working hours, and technology significantly influence the income of MSMEs. Partially, working capital and working hours have a positive and significant influence, while technology also shows a positive influence but with lower significance. Abstract

For a country whose exports are very limited, the government is always trying to find other sources that can be expected to increase the country's foreign exchange income. Such is the case with the Province of Bali. One effort to increase foreign exchange earnings is to develop tourism as a strategic core in order to create investment and accelerate economic growth. The research objective is to determine the effect of the number of foreign tourist visits, length of stay of tourists, export volumes of handicraft commodities and foreign exchange earnings in the previous year on foreign exchange earnings in Bali simultaneously and partially. This research uses the times series data 1994-2019 with the Partial Adjustment Model method. This study found the fact that the number of foreign tourist visits, the length of stay of tourists, the volume of exports of handicraft commodities and foreign exchange earnings in the previous period had a significant effect simultaneously on foreign exchange earnings in Bali Province. Partially, the volume of exports of handicraft commodities and foreign exchange earnings in the previous year had a positive and significant effect on foreign exchange earnings in the Province of Bali during the analysis period, while the length of stay of tourists did not significantly influence foreign exchange earnings in the Province of Bali in 1994-2019. Local Governments need to take concrete policies regarding the handling of the problem of foreign exchange earnings, for the coming period should the variables raised in this study need to be considered as strategic real indicators that affect foreign exchange earnings. Increased foreign exchange earnings should be strived to be absorbed in all sectors to accelerate the growth and economic development of Bali in order to realize a prosperous society.
