Abstract

For a country whose exports are very limited, the government is always trying to find other sources that can be expected to increase the country's foreign exchange income. Such is the case with the Province of Bali. One effort to increase foreign exchange earnings is to develop tourism as a strategic core in order to create investment and accelerate economic growth. The research objective is to determine the effect of the number of foreign tourist visits, length of stay of tourists, export volumes of handicraft commodities and foreign exchange earnings in the previous year on foreign exchange earnings in Bali simultaneously and partially. This research uses the times series data 1994-2019 with the Partial Adjustment Model method. This study found the fact that the number of foreign tourist visits, the length of stay of tourists, the volume of exports of handicraft commodities and foreign exchange earnings in the previous period had a significant effect simultaneously on foreign exchange earnings in Bali Province. Partially, the volume of exports of handicraft commodities and foreign exchange earnings in the previous year had a positive and significant effect on foreign exchange earnings in the Province of Bali during the analysis period, while the length of stay of tourists did not significantly influence foreign exchange earnings in the Province of Bali in 1994-2019. Local Governments need to take concrete policies regarding the handling of the problem of foreign exchange earnings, for the coming period should the variables raised in this study need to be considered as strategic real indicators that affect foreign exchange earnings. Increased foreign exchange earnings should be strived to be absorbed in all sectors to accelerate the growth and economic development of Bali in order to realize a prosperous society.

The health emergency conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic which also had an impact on the global social and economic crisis, the tourism sector was one of the sectors most negatively affected, especially the decline in tourist visits due to the travel restriction policy. This condition also affects the contribution of the tourism sector to the national economy. This research was conducted to observe the impact of factors in the gravity model and intra-industry trade, including relative distance, GDP per capita, tourism sector integration, and exchange rates on tourism demand in Indonesia from ten countries during 2017-2022 on 60 data samples with observation techniques and panel data regression model observations. Results were obtained which stated that the relative distance variable and GDP per capita had a negative effect on Indonesian tourism demand, conversely the integration of the tourism sector had a positive effect on Indonesian tourist demand, while the exchange rate variable had no significant impact on housing tourism demand in Indonesia from ten countries in 2017-2022.

Abstract

Dowry is a tradition that has existed for a long time and exists in many cultures around the world, including in Indonesia. Although dowry has symbolic and cultural significance, this tradition can cause several problems, especially related to gender equality. The purpose of this study is to compare the practice of dowry that applies in several countries and to examine the relationship between dowry practices and gender equality issues. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation of various relevant literature, with descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the practice of dowry in several countries has differences where there are countries that practice dowry or dowry given from the woman's to the man's side, or the man's to the woman's side. In addition, there are countries that practice dowry given by the man or woman individually, which is used for the business capital of a new family that is formed. The results of the study also show that the practice of dowry in several countries reflects gender inequality that is still deeply rooted in patriarchal culture. This reduces women's autonomy and strengthens the power imbalance in marital relationships. Despite international efforts such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women that seek to address this discrimination. Therefore, it is important to eliminate the practice of dowry that is not in accordance with the principle of gender equality in order to promote a fairer and healthier marriage relationship.

Abstract

Circular economy literacy efforts are important considering that the waste awareness index in Indonesia is still worrying. If we look at the data from the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN), food waste dominates the composition of waste based on waste type, namely 40.2 percent. When looking at the source, it is known that households are the largest source of waste (38.3 percent). Considering these data and facts, preventive efforts need to be carried out at the household level, especially regarding food waste. This activity aims to provide education for mothers regarding the circular economy and food waste behavior to minimize food waste, especially in its preparation or better known as food preparation. It is also believed that this effort will have a positive impact on the family's economy. This activity is carried out through the outreach method, and is also accompanied by a pre-test and post-test as a form of evaluation. The locus of the activity will be carried out in Batuan Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, targeting the local village PKK (family welfare empowerment) team. The aim is that information and activity materials can be distributed and implemented widely. After comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test, it was discovered that there had been an increase in service participants' understanding of the circular economy and food preparation. It is certainly important to continue this activity, one of which is through assistance in preparing circular economy programs through the PKK.

Abstract

Consumption activities refer to the use of income to obtain various goods or services to meet human needs. The top priority in consumption activities is fulfilling basic needs or primary needs, which are needs that are very essential for humans. As is done by the general public or families, students are also involved in daily economic activities, including in the aspect of consumption. At this time, many students are starting to shift the use of their monthly pocket money to fulfill consumption not only of necessities but also to consume what they want such as buying clothes, accessories or other current trend symbols. This indicates that students behave consumptively. Consumptive behavior refers to excessive consumption actions without paying attention to awareness of the needs that are actually needed. Someone who shows consumptive behavior tends to prioritize their desires and personal satisfaction rather than considering their needs. This study aims to investigate the impact of using Shopee PayLater, financial literacy, and lifestyle on student consumptive behavior through a survey method. The object of this research is undergraduate students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University who use the paylater feature on the Shopee application. The sample of this study amounted to 210 respondents from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University. The analytical method used in this study is descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The study shows that thetuse of Shopee PayLater does nottaffect student consumptivetbehavior. Higher financial literacy leads to less consumptive behavior, but a lifestyle that values material goods and trends promotes more consumptive habits.
