Abstract

The science learning process in junior high school is expected to lead to the achievement of learning objectives. Learners can experience difficulties in the learning process that must be detected to maximize learning outcomes. This Research & Development study aims to determine the characteristics of the testlet diagnostic model and the profile of students' learning difficulties on the material temperature and its changes. The research design using the 4D model reduced to 3D includes: define, design, and develop. The study was conducted at SMPN 1 Semarang with a total of 39 students. Data collection techniques through test techniques, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using descriptive-quantitative methods through the test of characteristics (validity, reliability, level of difficulty, distinguishing power), questionnaire analysis of teacher and student responses, and analysis of learning difficulties profiles. The results showed that the diagnostic test of the testlet model can be used to detect learners’ learning difficulties in the temperature and its changes material. The developed testlet test model has valid, reliable, relevant, representative, practical, discriminative, specific, and proportional characteristics. Profile of learning difficulties in the material temperature and its changes, namely, verbal ability, the highest and lowest of 64% and 31% in Competency Achievement Indicators 6 and 3; mastery of concepts, the highest and lowest of 68% and 31% in Competency Achievement Indicators 8 and 5; and the ability to count, the highest and lowest of 75% and 9% in Competency Achievement Indicators 5 and 1.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to developing an innovative thematic module on basic physics course and improving students’ logical thinking ability especially in the subject of Basic Physics II. The assessment developed in this study is an inquiry-based assessment to determine the ability to think logically by the students in learning science theme "light and vision." The research’s results and discussions are a module on the theme of light and vision developed by the eligibility requirements in very decent achievement category. The results showed that 56.66% students are in the stage of formal thinking, capable of abstract thinking and can analyze the problem scientifically and then resolve the issue, to acquire knowledge based on logical reasoning. The implementation of an innovative thematic module can improve students’ logical thinking ability.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid Real Science Mask with QR Code learning media. The goal to be achieved through this research in general is to produce learning media that can build a concrete learning experience and be able to improve digital literacy of science students. The research and development (RnD) method by analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) was performed. The data collection instruments used were observation sheets, expert validation sheets, and questions. The teaching and learning instruments were declared feasible and ready for application with a few revisions based on the validation results. Aspects that are considered in the feasibility test of the Real Science Mask with QR Code media are relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility, interface, suitability of material with digital and cognitive literacy skills, and media function. Real Science Mask with QR Code is a specially designed learning media that has been tested feasible and valid to improve digital literacy of science students.

Abstract

Metacognition is one of the important indicators of 21st century skills as part of ways of thinking. Metacognition ability is used by students to see how cognitive activities such as remembering, learning, and problem solving can be carried out effectively. However, in fact not many assessment tools have been developed to measure metacognitive ability. On the other hand, Moodle has good potential to be used as a platform for creating test instruments. The purpose of this study was to test a diagnostic test-based science metacognition evaluation tool that had been developed with Moodle. The research method used is quantitative by testing the validity, reliability, discriminating power, and level of difficulty on the items of the evaluation tool. The results showed that the science metacognition evaluation tool that had been developed had the characteristics of being valid according to experts, good reliability of 0.73, having a proportional difficulty index; and has good discrimination index. Based on the test results, it was concluded that the science metacognition evaluation tool had good characteristics in all aspects tested so that it was feasible to use it to measure students’ science metacognition abilities.

Abstract

Para ibu menyusui cenderung tidak percaya diri dalam menyusui bayinya dengan alasan khawatir ASI hanya diproduksi dalam jumlah yang sedikit dan tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan gizi bayi. ASI ibu sering dirasa tidak cukup untuk bayi sehingga khawatir bayi kelaparan dan akhirnya memilih susu tambahan lain dalam hal ini adalah susu formula. Tujuan dan target luaran IbM adalah; (1) Memberikan kesadaran masyarakat Kelurahan Kalisegoro dalam memberikan ASI eksklusif pada bayi; (2) Memberikan pelatihan cara mengolah daun katuk menjadi “cintuk” (cincau daun katuk) sekaligus sebagai upaya diversifikasi makanan tambahan ibu menyusui dan konservasi keanekaragaman hayati. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian adalah menggunakan pendekatan penyuluhan dan workshop tentang manfaat daun katuk serta aplikasi langsung pembuatan cincau daun katuk pada warga Kalisegoro. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan dengan rencana kegiatan dan prosedur kerja sebagai berikut; (1) penyuluhan mengenai manfaat dan diversifikasi olahan daun katuk; (2) pelatihan tentang pembuatan cincau yang menggunakan bahan dasar daun katuk; (3) aplikasi produksi pembuatan cincau daun katuk pada kelompok warga desa Kalisegoro. Program ini telah diilaksanakan dengan kegiatan: (1) Penyuluhan mengenai pentingnya ASI dan manfaat mengonsumsi Cintuk yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 16 Juli 2016; (2) pelatihan tentang pembuatan Cincau daun katuk “Cintuk” yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 17 Juli 2016, dari pelatihan tersebut telah dipraktekkan dan telah menghasilkan cintuk yang siap dikonsumsi.

Abstract

Metacognition ability is important for students to be able to organize and examine their thinking processes. In fact, the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Semarang do not yet know their metacognitive abilities and teachers have not deliberately built students' metacognitive abilities in various lessons with certain strategies. Problem-based learning (PBL) has the potential to build students' metacognitive abilities. This study aims to analyze the profile of students' metacognitive abilities through PBL assisted by environmental pollution worksheets. This research is a mixed-method approach which refers to Sugiono with a sequential explanatory strategy. Quantitative data were obtained through tests, while qualitative data were obtained through a metacognition ability questionnaire. The sample used was class VIIB and was selected by purposive sampling. The results based on the test analysis showed that the VIIB students had the most level 3 metacognition ability with a percentage of 54% and based on a questionnaire reach 76%. Students with the level 3 metacognition ability are able to develop their thinking processes and have poor analytical power. Students with level 1 and level 2 metacognition abilities have not been able to develop their thinking processes and have poor analytical power. Students with level 4 and level 5 metacognition abilities are able to develop their thinking processes and have good analytical power. Student's responses analysis about PBL assisted by worksheets are in a good category. Learning with the right method is needed in building and developing students' metacognitive abilities for the better.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the student's degree of satisfaction towardlecture processes. The study was conducted in the odd semester at the Faculty ofMathematics and Science in 2008. The subjects of the research were students of ninemajors of four departments in the faculty. The research subjects, numbering 540students were selected proportionally depending on the number of students in eachmajor. The data of the students' satisfaction were collected with a questioner. Thestudy showed that 74% students felt satisfied with the lectures at the faculty. Threethings which need improvement are: written information of the lesson objective atthe beginning of every session, the compliance of number of hours in each meetingwith the existing regulations, and the return of students' corrected work.Kata kunci: kepuasan layanan, perkuliahan, dan kinerja mahasiswa

Abstract

Penggunaan tes prestasi belajar sebagai alat utama untuk menentukan tercapai atau tidaknya tujuan pembelajaran kurang sesuai diterapkan dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Kurikulum 2013 menganjurkan penggunaan asesmen autentik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan asesmen autentik berbasis proyek pada tema panas, mengetahui kualitas serta hasil belajar siswa yang diukur menggunakan asesmen autentik. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development (RD). Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini berupa hasil validasi pakar, tanggapan siswa dan guru, serta hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian berupa asesmen autentik berbasis proyek yang dikembangkan berdasarkan konsep five dimensional framework for authentic assessment. Asesmen autentik berbasis proyek yang dikembangkan mendapat kriteria sangat baik dari pakar bahasa, materi dan evaluasi. Koefisien reliabilitas yang diperoleh dalam uji skala besar untuk instrumen penilaian diri, penilaian teman, penilaian proyek, penilaian sikap, dan tes pilihan ganda adalah 0,855; 0,561; 0,870; 0,697; dan 0,601. Penilaian hasil belajar menggunakan asesmen autentik berbasis proyek berupa semua siswa menunjukkan kompetensi sikap yang ingin diukur, sebanyak 83,67% siswa telah tuntas pada kompetensi kognitif, dan semua siswa tuntas pada kompetensi psikomotorik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, asesmen autentik berbasis proyek yang dikembangkan berdasarkan five dimensional framework for authentic assessment layak digunakan pada tema panas kelas VII SMP dan dapat mengukur kompetensi afektif, kognitif dan psikomotorik siswa.An achievement test used as main tool, for deciding whether or not learning purposes are complete, is not well-suited on project-based learning. Curriculum 2013 encourage for using authentic assessment in learning process. The purposes of this study are to develop authentic assessment based on project, its quality and student’s holistic learning achievement on the theme of heat that measured by it. The research design applied in this research is a Research and Development (RD). The research data are consist of validity product by experts, students and teachers response, and student’s study result. The result of this research is authentic assessment based on project that are developed by five dimensional framework for authentic assessment. The result showed that authentic assessment based on project have a very good quality in language, content material, and evaluation aspect. Coefficient reliability in large scale phase for self-assessment, peer-assessment, project-assessment, attitude assessment, and multiple choices is 0.855, 0.561, 0.870, 0.697, and 0.601. In implementation phase, all of students show some attitudes, 83.67% of students exceled at cognitive competency, and all of students exceled at skills that are measured. Based on those data, it can be concluded that authentic assessment based on project in the theme of heat that had been developed is well-applied for and capable of measuring afective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects of 7th grade junior high school.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru belum optimal dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran ERP (Engange, Research, Present). Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan  pada mata pelajaran IPA Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023 semester genap. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 32 peserta didik kelas VIIIB SMP Negeri 23 Semarang. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah lembar tes keterampilan komunikasi dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Adapun tahapan penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran ERP dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan presentase nilai rata-rata keterampilan komunikasi. Presentase nilai rata-rata keterampilan komunikasi pada prasiklus sebesar 58,84 % dengan kategori kurang baik meningkat pada siklus I sebesar dengan presentase 71,09 % kategori baik, kemudian meningkat pada siklus II sebesar dengan presentase 81,09% kategori sangat baik. Model pembelajaran ERP dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk: 1) memberikan pengetahuan bagi guru IPA SMP di Karimunjawa untuk merancang media pembelajaran IPA dengan bahan yang harganya relatif murah, 2) melatih keterampilan guru IPA untuk membuat media pembelajaran IPA, dan 3) melatih keterampilan guru IPA dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran IPA. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru IPA SMP di Karimunjawa tentang merancang, membuat, dan menggunakan alat peraga IPA dengan bahan yang relatif murah. Pelatihan alat peraga IPA dilakukan di SMP N 1 Karimunjawa berjalan dengan baik. Pada akhir pelatihan peserta menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan dalam merancang, membuat dan menggunakan alat peraga IPA dari bahan murah dan mudah didapat dari lingkungan. Peserta berharap ada tindak lanjut kegiatan sejenis dimasa yang akan datang.
