Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan alat peraga tiga dimensi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa pada tema bunyi dan pendengaran. Desain penelitian menggunakan Quasi Experimen Design dengan metode Pretest and Posttest Group Design. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A dan VIII B, SMP Negeri 3 Ungaran tahun ajaran 2014/2015 pada semester genap.  Pengumpulan data menggunakan draft wawancara guru, data hasil belajar yang didapatkan dari pretest dan posttest, lembar observasi afektif dan psikomotor, dan lembar angket tanggapan siswa terhadap model PBL. Alat peraga yang digunakan yaitu recorder soprano dan gitar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan N-gain kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas VIII A sebesar 1,01 dengan kriteria tinggi dan kelas VIII B sebesar 0,55 dengan kriteria sedang. Hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas VIII A dan VIII B diperoleh zhitung=5,01 > ztabel=1,96. Perhitungan hasil belajar kognitif dengan N-gain pada kelas VIII A sebesar 0,67 dan kelas VIII B sebesar 0,47 dengan kedua kelas berkriteria sedang. Hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis hasil belajar siswa diperoleh zhitung > ztabel. Hasil belajar afektif maupun psikomotorik meningkat setiap pertemuan dengan kriteria efektif dan sangat efektif. Ketuntasan klasikal kelas VIII A sebesar 96,97% dan kelas VIII B sebesar 42,42%. Berdasarkan angket tanggapan siswa menunjukkan bahwa model PBL efektif untuk digunakan. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL berbantuan alat peraga tiga dimensi efektif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa. This research was aimed to find out the effectiveness of  three dimensional science teaching aid PBL towards crtical thinking skills and learning outcomes of the students. Quasi-experimental design in the form of pretest and posttest goup design was used on this research. The students of VIII A and VIII B of SMP Negeri 3 Ungaran, year academic 2014/2015 were choosen as experimental classes that were obtained using Purposive Sampling technique.  The datas were obtained from teacher interview, students learning outcomes obtained from pretest and postest, observation sheet of students’ affective and psychomotoric, as well as  survey result of students reaction towards PBL model. The result of students’ critical thinking skill analysis using N-gain showed VIII A got 1,01 with high criteria while VIII B got 0.55 with medium criteria. Second hypthotesis test showed Zcount=5.01 > Ztable=1.96. This result indicated a significant enhancement. Cognitive learning outcomes, after tested with N-gain, resulted in class VIII A scored 0.67 and class VIII B scored 0.47 which made both of the class classified as medium criteria with significant hypothesis test result.The result of students’ affective and psychomotoric were improving in each meeting with the criteria of effective and very effective. Classical mastery result of class VIII A is 96.97% and class VIII B is 42.42%. From this research, it is concluded that hree dimensional science teaching aid PBL model is effective to improve crtitical thinking skills and students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Pendidikan multikultur memiliki lima dimensi yang saling berkaitan, yaitu :(1). Content integration; (2). The Knowledge Construction Process; (3) An Equity Paedagogy; (4) Prejudice Reduction; (5) Exercise. Games dapat dibuat untuk mengeksplor ide-ide IPA tertentu ke permukaan sedangkan anak-anak dari segala usia suka bermain game. (Muslimin, 2012). Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran awal tentang siswa dan lingkungan yang meliputi macam-macam nilai budaya yang ada pada siswa, metode pembelajaran, bahan ajar serta media yang digunakan dalam proses belajaran mengajar. Metode pengumpulan dan analisis data yang digunakan ialah metode dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan data perangkat sebelum dikembangkan, observasi untuk memperoleh data macam-macam nilai budaya yang ada pada siswa sebelum pengembangan perangkat, dan angket untuk mendapatkan data tentang metode pembelajaran, bahan ajar serta media yang digunakan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Seluruh data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan karakter yang cukup mencolok antara siswa yang berasal dari daerah pegunungan dan daerah perkotaan. Perangkat pembelajaran yang ada kurang mendukung usaha guru untuk mengaplikasikan nilai budaya yang ada di sekitar siswa dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, pembelajaran IPA yang sudah identik dengan keseriusan membuat guru jarang untuk menerapkan strategi permainan dalam pembelajaran, selain itu metode yang digunakan lebih banyak pembelajaran konvensional, bahan ajar yang digunakan kebanyakan menggunakan buku BSE dan LKS dari penerbit komersil, serta media yang digunakan mayoritas powerpoint. Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ Multicultural education has five interrelated dimensions, namely: (1). Content integration; (2). Games can be created to explore ideas of certain IPA to a surface while kids of all ages love to play games. (Muslim, 2012). The goal of this research was to get an initial picture of the student and the environment that includes a variety of cultural values in students, teaching methods, teaching materials and media used in the teaching learning process. Methods of data collection and analysis was using the documentation to get device data before it was developed, observations to obtain data on a variety of cultural values that exist in the students before the development of the device, and a questionnaire to obtain data on teaching methods, teaching materials and media used in teaching and learning process. All data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were differences between the characters are quite striking students from mountainous areas and urban areas. Learning device that was less support teachers' efforts to apply the cultural values that were around students in learning. In addition, learning science that has been synonymous with the seriousness of making teachers rarely to implement the strategy games in learning, in addition to the method used more conventional learning, teaching materials used were mostly books BSE and LKS of the publisher of commercial, as well as the majority media used was powerpoint.

Abstract

AbstrakPembelajaran IPA berdasarkan kurikulum 2013 menerapkan konsep yang terpadu. Hal ini bertujuan agar siswa mampu memecahkan masalah secara berkarakter dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Selain itu pembelajaran IPA yang terpadu yang bersifat menyenangkan dan menghibur (science edutainmen) juga memberikan peluang pada siswa untuk meningkatkan minat belajar dan karakter ilmiah siswa. Pendekatan science edutainment dalam penelitian ini menggunakan bantuan media permainan monopoli. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain Two- Group Posttest Only Design yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan permainan monopoli berbasis science edutainment terhadap minat belajar dan karakter ilmiah siswa kelas VIII.  Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling dan diperoleh kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  permainan monopoli berbasis science edutainment efektif terhadap minat belajar siswa kelas VIII dengan kriteria minat belajar sangat tinggi. Permainan monopoli berbasis science edutainment juga  efektif terhadap karakter ilmiah siswa kelas VIII dengan kriteria karakter ilmiah membudaya. Penelitian ini didukung oleh data hasil belajar kognitif siswa (posttest). Hasil analisis data nilai posttest menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara hasil belajar kognitif dengan minat belajar dan karakter ilmiah siswa kelas VIII. AbstractBased on Curriculum 2013, science learning process should apply an integrated concept. It is intended to make students being able to solve their problem and develop their character in various life aspects. An integrated science learning process that is both fun and entertaining or science edutainment also provides opportunities for students to enhance their interest in learning and scientific character. Science edutainment approach is presented in monopoly game. This study was an experimental study with two-group posttest only design that aims to determine the effectiveness of monopoly game based on science edutainment toward 8th grade students’ learning interest and scientific character. The sampling technique was random sampling that derived VIII A as the experimental group and VIII B as the control group. The results shows that the monopoly game based on science edutainment is effective on learning interest of 8th grade students with very high criteria. Monopoly game based on science edutainment is also effective toward the scientific character of 8th grade students with entrenched/established criteria. This research is supported by the cognitive learning outcomes as posttest. The results of posttest analysis values indicate a positive relationship between the cognitive learning with students’ learning interest and scientific character.

Abstract

Abstrak Hasil observasi yang dilakukan di SMP N 4 Kudus ditemukan beberapa kendala yaitu pembelajaran IPA masih konvensional, sehingga peserta didik pasif, padahal sekolah memiliki fasilitas berupa laboratorium IPA yang cukup lengkap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh petunjuk praktikum guided discovery tema tekanan terhadap keterampilan melakukan percobaan dan keterampilan mengkomunikasikan hasil. Desain penelitian ini yaitu Two-group posttest only dengan teknik simple random sampling yang diuji homogenitas terlebih dahulu. Digunakan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan petunjuk praktikum guided discovery dan kelas kontrol menggunakan petunjuk praktikum biasa. Pengaruh petunjuk praktikum guided discovery terhadap keterampilan melakukan percobaan melalui test sebesar 5,004% sedangkan untuk lembar observasi percobaan pertama sampai keenam sebesar 9,340%; 12,85%; 25,33%; 21,52%; 16,90%; dan 51,33%. Pengaruh petunjuk praktikum guided discovery terhadap keterampilan mengkomunikasikan hasil melalui test sebesar 18,05% sedangkan untuk lembar observasi percobaan pertama sampai keenam sebesar 6,250%; 17,16%; 24,08%; 23,99 %; 11,03%; dan 32,15 % Abstract The results of observations conducted at SMP N 4 Kudus discovered several problems that learning science is still conventional, so passive learners, even though the school has facilities such as science laboratories are fairly complete. This study aimed to investigate the effect of guided discovery experiment instruction on pressure theme of skills to experiment and skill to communicate the results. This study design is Two-group posttest only by simple random sampling technique which tested the homogeneity of the first. Used two classes, experiment class using the guided discovery experiment instructions and control class using ordinary experiment instruction. Effect of guided discovery experiment instructions to conduct experiments with test skills at 5.004% while for the experimental observation sheet first to sixth at 9.340%; 12.85%; 25.33%; 21.52%; 16.90%; and 51.33%. Effect of guided discovery experiment instruction to the skill of communicating results through test 18.05% whereas for experimental observation sheet first to sixth at 6.250%; 17.16%; 24.08%; 23.99%; 11.03%; and 32.15%.

Abstract

Abstrak ______________________________________________________________ Hasil observasi dan wawancara di SMP N 1 Jenangan diperoleh informasi bahwa sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan proses sains siswa belum optimal dikembangkan. Model pembelajaran yang dapat mengembangkan sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan proses sains siswa yaitu model make a match berbasis guided inquiry pada tema ekosistem. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui efektivitas model make a match berbasis guided inquiry pada sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Desain yang digunakan nonequivalent control group, dengan sampel kelas VII A (kelas eksperimen) dan VII F (kelas kontrol). Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode dokumentasi, tes, observasi dan angket. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif dan uji statistik model make a match berbasis guided inquiry tema ekosistem efektif pada sikap ilmiah dan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari persentase rata-rata kelas eksperimen untuk sikap ilmiah 77% dan kelas kontrol 74%, sedangkan hasil tes keterampilan proses sains kelas eksperimen 85 dan kelas kontrol 78,8. Abstract _________________________________________________________________ The results of observation and interview at SMP N 1 Jenangan informed that scientific attitude and scientific process skills students has not been optimally developed. One of suitable learning models are make a match based guided inquiry with the theme of ecosystems. This research aims to get the effectiveness of scientific attitude and science process skills of this model. This study is non-equivalent control group design; this sample was 7Ath grade as experimental class and 7Fth grade as control class. Data collection uses documentation, test methods, observation and question form. Based on description analysis and statistical analysis that the average scientific attitude and scientific process skills students experiment class get better value than the control class. This is shown from the average percentage for scientific attitude from experiments class of 77% and 74% of control class, while the science process skill test result 85 for experiment class and 78,8 for control class

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitin ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan CTL berbasis eksperimen terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan sikap ilmiah. Desain dari penelitian ini adalah control group pre-test post-test desain. Sampel diambil secara pusposive sampling dan didapatkan kelas VIII D sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Data penelitian ini adalah data nilai posttest dan data observasi sikap ilmiah peserta didik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen adalah 76,84 dan kelas kontrol 65,97. Hasil analisis korelasi biserial 0,71 dan koefisien determinasi 50,2%. Berdasarkan observasi, hasil analisis korelasi spearman adalah 0,50 untuk sikap ingin tahu, 0,48 untuk berpikir kritis, 0,56 terbuka, dan 0,58 kerja sama. Hasil koefisien determinasi adalah 25% untuk rasa ingin tahu, berpikir kritis 23,04%, terbuka 31,36%, dan kerja sama 34,81%. Abstract This experiment aims to determine the effect of CTL-based experimental approach to the cognitive learning and scientific attitude. The design of this study was the control group pre-test post-test design. Samples taken pusposive sampling and got VIII D as experimental class and class VIII C as the control class. This research data is the value of data and observation data posttest learners' scientific attitude. The results showed that the average value was 76.84 posttest experimental class and control class 65.97. Results of correlation analysis biserial 0.71 and coefficient of determination of 50.2%. Based on observations, the results of Spearman correlation analysis was 0.50 for curiosity, 0.48 to think critically, open 0.56, and 0.58 cooperation. The coefficient of determination was 25% f or curiosity, critical thinking 23.04%, 31.36% open, and cooperation 34.81%.

Abstract

The object of learning in science was all natural objects that require in-depth exploration in learning. Media was needed to inform messages that had been designed by the educators so that learning was more realistic and fun. This study was designed with the research explorative type with qualitative descriptive approach, involving a teacher and the students in class VII at 2 different science classes at SMPN 2 Boja. The technique of data collection used documentation study and questionnaire. To test the validity of data and put confidence in the data validity criteria (credibility) used the triangulation. The result of study showed that the type of Science materials in general were in the form of teaching materials in print, visual and multimedia, nonetheless there had been no audiovisual Science teaching materials, for example the film. The teachers’ lack of knowledge about meta-cognitive made the meta-cognitive ability of the students was less good. The development of teaching materials had not narrowed to the achievement of specific competencies including meta-cognitive abilities of the students. It could be concluded that it was necessary to develop the type of teaching materials Audio Visual form of film in general often referred to as digital storytelling in science teaching to improve the students' meta-cognitive skills.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of students science activity based on Science Technology Society (STS) of student’s integrated science process skills (ISPS). This research used true experimental design with Pretest-Posttest control design. Samples were taken by using simple random sampling technique from the student population of class 7 SMP N 22 Semarang junior high school in academic year 2017/2018. The resulting class VII B as the experimental class and class VII A as control class. The data were collected by using documentation, test, and observation method. The Result of correlation test between students activity based on STS to student’s ISPS obtained from the observation result obtained correlation coefficient of 0,554. The correlation coefficient is categorized as moderate so it can be interpreted that the students' activity based on STS gives a moderate effect on the student's ISPS. The effect of the students' activity based on STS of the student’s ISPS calculated from r2 x 100% is 31%, r is the correlation coefficient which states the correlation between students activity based STS and student’s ISPS. The result of significance test of correlation coefficient value obtained tcount > ttable , it means that students activity based on STS give positive influence to student’s ISPS. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the students' activity based on STS influenced the student’s ISPS. The N-gain calculation to measure the increase in the experimental and control classes showed that the increase of experiment class was categorized as medium, the increase of the control class was categorized as low.

Abstract

There has been limited information about the integrated science education alumni and the graduate user (stakeholder) satisfaction level. Therefore, a concrete step needs to be taken by the department managers in the form of alumni data collection — this research intended to reveal the stakeholders' responses to the Integrated Science Education graduates of Universitas Negeri Semarang. The methods adopted were descriptive-qualitative and quantitative employing questionnaire instruments available on the tracer study web system. The questionnaires had several indicators including (1) ethics and moral, (2) professionalism, (3) insight, (4) leadership, (5) teamwork, (6) foreign language mastery, (7) communication, (8) IT skills, and (9) self-development. Based on the accomplishment score average of the 9 indicators, the graduates categorized as very good having the final score of 3.72. The knowledge background suitability with the jobs scored 3.60 or categorized as very good. The analysis results revealed that of the 9 indicators, 7 of them categorized as ‘very high' (ethics and moral, insight, leadership, teamwork, communication, IT skills, and self-development) and 2 of them categorized as ‘high' (professionalism and foreign language mastery). The integrated science education alumni's suitability of competencies towards the jobs also categorized as ‘very high.'

Abstract

Science learning based on 2013 curriculum requires the students to be able at analyzing, evaluating, and creating to achieve higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The results of observation at SMP N 2 Sukolilo showed that there was no task or question which was specifically used to measure HOTS of the students. The aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of two-tier multiple choice assessment instrument and HOTS ability of the students. This research was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D) method. Samples were taken by random sampling technique from the population of class IX students of SMP N 2 Sukolilo in the academic year 2019/2020, then class IX C was selected for small-scale trial, class IX B was selected for large-scale trial, and class IX A was selected for trial use. Data was taken by some methods such as test, questionnaire, and documentation. The characteristics of two-tier multiple choice assessment instrument was analyzed by expert judgment and empirical testing. Whereas, HOTS level of the students was analyzed using the HOTS Category Scale. The results of the analysis of the characteristics of two-tier multiple choice assessment instrument indicated that the developed instrument had fulfilled the requirement as a good instrument, namely (1) valid, with the result of expert validation as many as 79% (feasible) and the results of the item analysis was 0.49 (sufficient ); (2) reliable, with the reliability result was 0.40 (reliable); (3) relevant, representative, practical, and specific as indicated by the results of the teacher's questionnaire responses with the percentage 75% (good); (4) discriminatory power, with the average of analysis result was 0.36 (good); and (5) proportional / difficulty level, with the analysis result of most questions in the moderate category. Furthermore, the analysis results of HOTS level of the students showed that the students on the large-scale trial were mostly in the moderate category (67%) and some of them in a small portion were in the low category (33%). While, HOTS level of the students on the trial use showed that most of the students were in the moderate category (50%), some of them were in the low category (30%), and a small portion of them were in the high category (20%). The conclusion of this study is the developed two-tier multiple choice assessment instrument has been feasible, because it has met the requirements as a good instrument and can be used to measure HOTS of the students.
