Abstract

Abstract

Local wisdom-based character education plays a vital role in strengthening students' cultural identity and character development. However, studies examining teachers' roles in implementing local wisdom-based character education across different developmental phases remain limited, particularly within the cultural context of Cirebon, Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze teachers' roles, instructional strategies, and implementation challenges across Phases A, B, and C while developing an implementation framework for local wisdom-based character education. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed involving three purposively selected teachers representing Phases A, B, and C at SDN 1 Kedawung. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation. Data analysis followed phenomenological procedures involving bracketing, identification of meaning units, thematic clustering, and synthesis of participants' lived experiences, supported by the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. Trustworthiness was ensured through triangulation, member checking, and researcher reflexivity. The findings revealed that teachers adapted their roles and instructional strategies to students' developmental characteristics across learning phases. Local wisdom-based activities, including Cirebon mask dance, batik-making, educational visits to the Kesepuhan Palace, and regional culinary projects, fostered discipline, responsibility, cooperation, creativity, cultural appreciation, and self-confidence. This study proposes a six-stage implementation framework integrating teacher roles, developmentally appropriate instructional strategies, local wisdom, and character outcomes, providing a practical model for implementing contextually relevant character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Purpose- This study investigates the psychological dimensions of heroism in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (2015–2017), focusing on the characters Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka. Set in a dystopian future where war and survival define the lives of young orphans, the anime provides a compelling narrative to examine how trauma, leadership, loyalty, and moral responsibility shape heroic behaviour. The background of this study lies in the underexplored intersection between anime, heroism, and psychoanalytic psychology. Methodology - This research employed a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through a literature study of all 50 episodes of the anime and supplemented with relevant scholarly sources. The analysis was grounded in Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, particularly the concepts of the id, ego, and superego, to understand the psychological underpinnings of each character’s decisions and development. The data were processed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Findings - The study finds that heroism in Iron-Blooded Orphans is shaped by a complex interplay of internal conflicts, moral values, and social expectations. Mikazuki’s actions are driven by loyalty and emotional dependency on Orga, while Orga’s decisions reflect the burden of leadership and psychological strain. Both characters exhibit behaviors influenced by their trauma and suppressed desires, with the id, ego, and superego dynamics influencing their perception of duty and sacrifice. These findings suggest that heroic behaviour in the anime is deeply tied to unresolved psychological tension and external moral pressures. Novelty - This research offers a novel contribution by applying Freudian psychoanalysis to anime character analysis—a framework rarely used in this context. It provides a detailed mapping of the psychological structures driving heroic behaviour in anime, expanding the discourse on character psychology in popular media. Significance - The study is particularly relevant for scholars and students of media psychology, literary and cultural studies, and anime studies. It demonstrates how anime can serve as a valuable lens for analyzing complex psychological themes, making it a useful reference for future interdisciplinary research on heroism, trauma, and identity in visual narratives.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design, validate, and implement digital modules for scientific writing based on TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) for 11th-grade SMA/MA students. The study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method and follows the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. The development process begins with an analysis of teacher needs, curriculum, and environmental factors. The TPACK-based scientific writing digital module is then validated by experts in material content, digital media, and practical application. The validation results indicate high feasibility, with assessments of 80%, 97%, and 78% from material, media, and practitioner experts, respectively. The structure of the module consists of three main sections: the beginning, content, and end. The beginning includes the cover, foreword, table of contents, glossary, and a draft map. The content section introduces the module’s identity, basic competencies, description, and usage instructions. Each learning activity contains objectives, material descriptions, summaries, practice questions, and self-assessment opportunities. Implementation results show a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. Before using the TPACK-based digital module, the average score was 69.86, which increased to 82.86-83.88 after its implementation. Statistical analysis using paired t-tests confirms the effectiveness of the module. The first t-test shows a value of 13.073 > 1.687 with a significance (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.005. The second t-test shows a value of 6.637 > 1.7109 with the same significance level. These results indicate a significant positive impact of the TPACK-based digital module on student learning outcomes. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that the TPACK-based scientific writing digital module is effective and significantly enhances students' learning achievements in scientific writing.
