Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of learning media such as Flash Card, the learning media used in schoolis only in the form of textbooks. The textbook used presents a slightly colored appearance, the material is not detailed and the images are few. The material of Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera doesn’t present the characteristics and sample images of each species of each class, from Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera. This study aims to describe the process of developing Flash Card media for Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera as Integrated Science learning media for class VII SMP Negeri 27 Merangin. This research is a development research that using 4-D which includes the stages of define, design, develop and disseminate. The subjects of this study consisted of 7 validators consisting of 5 STKIP YPM Bangko lecturers and 2 Integrated Science teachers at SMP Negeri 27 Merangin. This research instrument uses a validation questionnaire, then this data is analyzed by descriptive analysis. Based on the results of this study, a valid Integrated IPA Flash Card was produced. The resulting Integrated Science Flash Card was declared very valid by the validator both from the aspects of the feasibility of content, language, presentation and graphics with an average validity value of 94%. So it can be concluded that the Flash Card of Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera have been declared valid.

Abstract

The lack of utilization of palm oil cake waste in Merangin Regency has become a source of pollution. Palm oil cake waste has the potential as a medium for Hermetia illucens production. This study aims to determine the effect of using Hermetia illucens from palm oil cake waste as an alternative feed on the growth of Clarias batrachus L and to determine the best dose of feed from oil palm cake waste Hermetia illucens on the growth of Clarias batrachus L . This study use a completely randomized design (CRD) factor, consisted of 5 treatments, P A (100% Pellet/control), P B (25% Hermetia illucens and 75% pellets), P C (50% Hermetia illucens and 50% pellets) , P D (75% Hermetia illucens and 25% pellets), and P E (100% Hermetia illucens ) with 5 repetitions. The parameters of this study were weight growth, body length growth, and water pH. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with Duncan's test 5%. The results showed that Hermetia illucens feed from palm oil cake waste had a significant effect on the growth of body weight and body length in catfish. Hermetia illucens feed from palm oil cake waste at a dose of 50% Hermetia illucens & 50% pellets gave the highest results on the growth of body weight and body length in Clarias batrachus L.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the unavailability of interesting learning media. So far, teachers only use textbooks and worksheets, so researchers want to develop comics as a support for integrated science teaching and learning activities at SMP Negeri 42 Merangin. This study aims to describe the process of developing comics on the material of the interaction of living things with the environment and to find out which comics on the material of interactions of living things with the environment are valid and practical. This type of research is a development research that uses a 4-D model which includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The subject of this research is the Integrated Science teacher at SMP Negeri 42 Merangin. Based on the results of the research, a product in the form of learning comics was produced. The resulting learning comics were declared very valid by the validator from the aspect of the feasibility of content, language, presentation, and graphics with a validity value of 91.5%. The resulting learning comics were also stated to be very practical by the teacher both in terms of ease of use, learning time, and attractiveness with a score of 3.7. So it can be concluded that the learning comics on the interaction of living things with the environment for class VII SMP/MTs have been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

Based on research observations conducted by researchers at SMPN 50 Merangin, they still use the LKS book as a practical guide book at school. To overcome this problem, the research developed a practical guide for the respiratory system material based on guide inquiry. This study aims to produce an integrated science praticum guide based on guide in Quiry on the respiratory system material for class VIII students SMPN 50 so that is suitable to be used as a learning medium and also to produce an integrated science practicum guide based on Guide Inquiry on the design (planning), develop (development), and disseminate (Spread). In this study there were 5 (five) validators, 2 (two) people who will validate the practicum guide material the will be developed, namely 1 lecturer from the Biology study program and I science teacher at SMP N 50 Merangin. 1 (one) lecturer in the Indonesian language study program who will validate the language. 1 (one) STKIP YPM Bangko lecturer from mathematics study program who will validate the graph on display of the practical guide. The results of this study resulted in a product in the from of guided inquiry based practicum guide on respiratory system material. The feasibility of the practical guide on respiratory system material is proven from the results of the validator’s assessment that the average content feasibility obtained in 98,44% language is 87,5% presentation is 91,6% and graphic is 100%. With an average overall percentage of 94% (very valid).

Abstract

‘Limau kacang’ has been a specialty crop in the Solok region of West Sumatra. The spread of Citrus reticulata Blanco is still experiencing barriers and the population is threatened with extintion. Overcome the problem is done propagation of Citrus reticulata Blanco vegetatively with shoot cutting. The experiment on the influence of different growing media and hormonal growth of coconut water to the shoot cutting of Citrus reticulata Blanco has been accomplished at kanagarian Kacang Kecamatan X Koto Singkarak, Kabupaten Solok, this experiment started in June to October 2017. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) Factorial. The first factor was four different growing media (soil, soil : manure, soil : husk, soil : sand) while the second factor was two level coconut water concentrations (0% and 25%) with three replication. Variables analiyzed were the survival percentage, while emerging shoots, shoot length, number of leaf, number of shoot, number of root and root length. The result of this research showed that A3B0 treatment (planting media soil : manure without coconut water as hormonal growth) gave the best influence to the growth of shoot cuttings of Citrus reticulata Blanco.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of eco-enzyme products from fruit peel waste. The method used is an experiment with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the eco enzyme product produced had a fresh sour aroma, brown with different levels of color density, ranging from light brown, yellowish-brown, to dark brown. The volume of eco enzyme products after the fermentation process for three months showed that in variables 1 and 3 the volume increased to 133%, while in variable 3 there was a reduction in product volume to 86%. The highest pH level is in variable 4 (2.8). In conclusion, the combination of fruit peel waste used as raw material for making eco enzymes affects the color, aroma, water content and pH of the resulting eco-enzymes. Abstract

This research is motivated by the interaction of learning in the classroom that takes place in one direction, so that students take for granted the information provided by the teacher. Student responses to learning tend to be low. During the learning process, student participation only records and listens to the teacher's explanation. This has an impact on learning outcomes. This is evidenced from the UAS learning outcomes of class XI students of SMAN 2 Merangin, which are still low and have not yet reached KKM 75. Therefore this study aims to describe the results of learning biology with the type of cooperative learning model Take and Give better than the results of learning biology with the conventional model of class XII science students of SMAN 2 Merangin 2019/2020 school year. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach with a posttest-only control design research design. The population in this study were all students of class XII IPA of SMA N 2 Merangin consisting of three classes, from class XII IPA 1, and XII IPA 2, and XII IPA 3, totaling 68 students. After steps are taken in determining the sample class, the researcher obtains a combination of the AC class, where A (XII IPA 1) becomes the experimental class, and class C (XII IPA 3) becomes the control class. Data collection techniques used to obtain the data needed is a test (test). Before being used the test was analyzed using the validity test, distinguishing power, difficulty index, and reliability test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing it is known that the price of tcount> ttable or 2.948> 2.016. From these results it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Take and Give learning model on the learning outcomes of biology class XII students of SMAN 2 Merangin 2019/2020 school year.

Abstract

This study is aimed to analyze the improvement of scientific students’ attitude Biology Education in STKIP YPM Bangko in lecturing of Biochemistry. The design of this research is classroom action research with implementing practical based learning. Practical based learning is a method that could help students to find out the fact of theory that they had learned during it. This research had been organized on March until May 2016 at STKIP YPM Bangko. The parameter in this study is a scientific attitude with indicator; curiously, flexible attitude, critical atittude, honest, and accuracy. The result showed that Practical based learning has been performing well. Scientific attitude of student has increased by an average from 59,38% in the first cycle to 72,50% in the second cycle. It can be conclude that practical based learning an effective methode to improve scientific students’attitude Biology Education in STKIP YPM Bangko.

Abstract

Communities in Indonesia generally have a yard where many types of plants grow, such as fruit trees. Fruit-producing plants are plants that are deliberately planted to produce fruit to be consumed in a fresh state. Fruit plants also contain a source of vitamins and protein. Sungai Kapas Village has a fairly large yard of land, fruit plants that live in Sungai Kapas Village have never been studied before, so there is no clearer data and information regarding the types of plants that produce fruit for consumption. This study aims to determine the types of fruit-producing plants for consumption in the gardens of the residents of Sungai Kapas Village. This study used the exploratory method, the fruit plant research results obtained can be used for further cultivation of the types of fruit plants in Sungai Kapas Village, Bangko District, Merangin Regency. From the results of the study it was found that there were 13 species from 12 families of consumption fruit plants found in Sungai Kapas Village.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of a laboratory in biology education because it is closely related to the learning process, namely practicum so the biology laboratory must be able to support lecture activities. With the existence of various laboratory facilities to date, it is not known whether these facilities can support lectures or not, because research has never been done on the role of the biology laboratory in the Biology Education Study Program of STKIP YPM in the learning process. Some aspects that must exist and be considered in a laboratory so that lecture activities can run well and achieve goals include, among others, laboratory rooms, laboratory facilities, educational equipment (props and experimental equipment), educational media, consumables, and other equipment. This study aims to determine student perceptions of the biology laboratory as support for lectures at the STKIP YPM Biology Education Study Program. This type of research is qualitative research that uses descriptive methods. The research informants were students of the Biology Education Study Program class of 2017, totaling ten people. Data collection techniques through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. There are three data analysis techniques used, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was found that students' perceptions of the biology laboratory as support for lectures in the Biology Education Study Program, STKIP YPM, scored 78.6% in the very supportive category.
