Abstract

This research describes the assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative illocutionary acts seen from the direct and indirect speech acts in the dialogues of the movie Serdadu Kumbang and their implications towards Indonesian language and literature learning in senior high school. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data were in the forms of illocutionary acts of the movie dialogues. The data collecting techniques used were listening, transcribing, classifying, and inserting the data into data collection table. Data analyses included data presentation, identification, heuristics analysis, drawing a conclusion, and the implication. The results of the research showed that assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative illocutionary acts were delivered directly and indirectly. The most-frequently used illocutionary act was assertive of notifying. The most frequently used form of verbal speech act was direct speech act. This research can be implicated– that is to write a play script.Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tindak ilokusi asertif, direktif, komisif, ekspresif, dan deklaratif dilihat dari kelangsungan dan ketidaklangsungan pada dialog film Serdadu Kumbang dan implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia di SMA. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data berupa tindak ilokusi pada dialog film.Teknik pengumpulan data, yakni menyimak, mencatat/mentranskrip, klasifikasi data, memasukkan data dalam tabel pengumpulan data. Analisis data, yakni penyajian data, identifikasi data, analisis heuristik, penarikan simpulan, dan pengimplikasian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindak ilokusi asertif, direktif, komisif, ekspresif, dan deklaratif disampaikan secara langsung dan tidak langsung. Tindak ilokusi yang mendominasi adalah asertif menyatakan atau memberitahukan. Bentuk tuturan secara verbal yang mendominasi adalah tuturan langsung. Penelitian ini dapat diimplikasikan dalam menulis naskah drama.Kata kunci: ilokusi, pragmatik, tindak tutur.

Abstract

Terdapat peserta didik kelas V yang belum lancar membaca sehingga diperlukan gerakan literasi sekolah melalui pojok baca agar kemampuan membaca siswa menjadi meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan gerakan literasi sekolah melalui pojok baca dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca, kemampuan membaca peserta didik setelah diterapkan pojok baca, dan  dampak dan kendala dalam pelaksanaan gerakan literasi sekolah melalui pojok baca dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling. Data dianalisis meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi gerakan literasi sekolah melalui pojok baca telah sampai pada tahap pembiasaan dan tahap pengembangan. Tahap pembiasaan dilakukan dengan kegiatan membaca 15 menit sebelum pembelajaran dimulai dan tahap pengembangan dilakukan dengan kunjungan ke perpustakaan sekolah, adanya pojok baca kelas, serta adanya tim gerakan literasi sekolah. Kemampuan membaca mengalami peningkatan setelah diadakannya gerakan literasi sekolah melalui pojok baca, akan tetapi masih ada kendala yang dihadapi dalam penerapannya melalui pojok baca yaitu minimnya ruang kelas dan masih terbatasnya ketersediaan buku sehingga buku bacaan yang ada di pojok baca tidak diperbarui secara rutin.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology demands a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, requiring educators to go beyond traditional teaching methods by integrating various digital tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. However, limited digital proficiency among elementary school teachers poses a significant barrier to this integration. This study aimed to improve the digital competencies of elementary school educators through targeted training on the development of interactive e-modules. The training, conducted on August 8, 2024, involved 35 purposively selected elementary educators from the Metro City area. The program consisted of three phases: (1) foundational knowledge delivery on interactive e-modules, (2) hands-on training and mentoring on module development, and (3) evaluation of training effectiveness. Data were collected through questionnaires and participant observations, and analyzed using a qualitative approach. The findings revealed that participants significantly improved their theoretical understanding and practical skills related to interactive e-module design. Moreover, they demonstrated increased motivation and readiness to apply these digital tools in classroom settings, indicating the potential scalability of such training for broader educational contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on students' reading comprehension skills. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population was all students at the elementary school where the study was conducted, with a sample of 58 students selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through tests and non-tests. Data analysis used prerequisite tests, including the homogeneity test, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the Levene test. To test the effectiveness of the learning model, parametric tests were used: the independent sample t-test and simple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS version 27. The results of the study indicate that the application of the CIRC learning model has a positive influence on students' reading comprehension skills and produces a significant difference in reading comprehension skills between the experimental class and the control class. This model is effective because it involves integrated reading, writing, and discussion activities, thus helping students understand the content of the reading better. Learning with this model also encourages students to be active in finding important information and drawing conclusions from the reading. These findings indicate that the CIRC model can be an alternative learning method to improve reading comprehension skills in Indonesian subjects

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Metro Pusat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh model problem based learning berbantuan media question card terhadap hasil belajar matematika peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain pre-eksperimental dengan desain one group pretestposttest design. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling non probability sampling dengan jenis teknik purposive sampling dan populasi sebanyak 102 peserta didik dengan sampel 27 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan non tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada penerapan model problem based learning berbantuan media question card terhadap hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Metro Pusat Semester Genap Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023.

Abstract

The lack of early reading skills among lower-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Metro Barat had become an obstacle for teachers during the learning process. In fact, early reading was a fundamental skill for students to achieve academic success in elementary school and serves as a tool for understanding the meaning of each lesson learned at school. This study aimed to analyze the use of the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) in assessing the basic literacy skills of students at SD Negeri 6 Metro Barat. This research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The sample consisted of 53 lower-grade students. Data were collected using the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) test, observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was conducted using non-statistical analysis. The results of this study indicated that the use of the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) in assessing the basic literacy skills of students at SD Negeri 6 Metro Barat shows variations among lower-grade students, as differentiated by the assessment aspects of the EGRA instrument. Each aspect of reading ability was interrelated and influences other reading components possessed by the students. The ability to recognize letters affects the ability to read meaningful words. The ability to read meaningful and non-meaningful words serves as an indicator of proficiency in reading aloud and understanding texts. Similarly, reading comprehension skills influence the achievement indicators in the aspect of listening comprehension.

Abstract

The Effectiveness of Multimedia-Based Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) on Thematic Learning Outcomes. Objectives: The low students’ learning outcomes encourage this study to analyze and determine the effect of the implementation of the multimedia-based Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on the students’ thematic learning outcomes. Methods: Quasi-experimental and quantitative approaches were employed in this study with a non-equivalent control group design. The purposive sampling technique was used in determining the research sample from a total population of 59 students. The data were collected through test and non-test techniques. Findings: Based on the hypothesis test using a simple regression formula, the data obtained that Fcount > Ftable, i.e., 9.19 > 4.20, which has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the CIRC model combined with multimedia. Conclusion: The CIRC learning model applied is concluded as an effective learning model as it could improve students’ learning outcomes. Keywords: CIRC, multimedia, thematic learning outcome.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i3.202204

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low listening skills in the Indonesian language among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Way Kandis. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by audio-visual media on students’ listening skills. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a population of 82 students and a sample of 55 students, selected using a random sampling technique. Data were collected using test and non-test techniques, including observation sheets. The results of hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis showed that the use of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by audio-visual media had a significant effect on the Indonesian language listening skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Way Kandis.

Abstract

The problem in this study was the low critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kota Gajah. The research was conducted to determine the effect of using numeracy literacy-based E-LKPD (Electronic Student Worksheets) in mathematics on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kota Gajah. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent Control Group Design. Data collection techniques included essay tests and non-test methods (observation). Hypothesis testing was performed using simple linear regression. A significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and an F-calculated value of 31.416 (F > F-table 4.381) were obtained, leading to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Therefore, it was concluded that there was a significant influence of using numeracy literacy-based E-LKPD in mathematics on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kota Gajah.
