Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between hardiness and academic resilience in Psychology students at Prima Indonesia University who are studying while working. Hardiness and academic resilience are understood as two important constructs that influence students' ability to maintain academic performance amidst dual demands. This study uses a quantitative method by examining the relationship between hardiness and academic resilience in a group of working students who are rarely studied in Indonesian educational psychology. This study involved 258 respondents identified through Isaac Michael Tables from a population of 976 students. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation using SPSS Version 27 software. The results of the analysis showed a positive and significant relationship between hardiness and academic resilience (r = 0.212; p = 0.000). This finding confirms that hardiness plays a role as a psychological factor that contributes to the academic resilience of working students, and fills the gap in research on these two variables in the segment of students with dual burdens in the context of higher education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has influenced the social interaction patterns of adolescents and given rise to the phenomenon of cyberbullying on social media. Emotional regulation plays an important role in preventing aggressive online behavior because it is related to an individual's ability to recognize, assess, and control their emotional responses. This study aims to understand the relationship between emotional regulation and cyberbullying behavior among adolescents who use social media. The research method used a correlational quantitative approach with 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The research subjects consisted of 100 adolescents who use social media from Eria High School in Medan, which were determined based on the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis included normality and linearity tests, and the data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics software edition 25. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = -0.643 with a significance level of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This means that the more emotional regulation skills social media users have, the less likely they are to engage in cyberbullying. Conversely, teens with low emotional regulation tend to have a higher risk of engaging in cyberbullying behavior. Strengthening emotional regulation through character education and family support is important to prevent online aggressive behavior among teens.

Abstract

The phenomenon of toxic relationships has recently come under public scrutiny due to its widespread prevalence. This issue typically focuses on middle and late adulthood or parenting. This study examines the importance of emotional regulation and toxic relationships in late adolescence through a literature review. A literature review examines theories through the depth and breadth of previous research, including reviews of published journals and books. In general, it was found that the phenomenon of toxic relationships has pervaded late adolescence, and its relationship with emotional regulation is significantly negative. This means that if an individual has good or high emotional regulation, a toxic relationship will not occur. Conversely, if their emotional regulation is poor or low, a toxic relationship will occur.

Abstract

A purposive sampling technique was used to select 95 employees aged 20-60 years as participants. Data was collected using a psychological well-being scale consisting of 48 items and a work-life balance scale with 40 items. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 23. Normality and linearity tests were run to ensure the validity of the results. In order to examine the relationship between psychological well-being and work-life balance, the data collected was analyzed with Pearson Correlation. Results showed a negative correlation with value -0.446, indicating an inverse connection between psychological well-being and work-life balance among employees. The effective contribution was 19.9%, suggesting that additional variables not considered in this study may impact the remaining percentage, which provides a perspective for further studies.

Abstract

Parental attachment is one of the key factors influencing the development of adolescent independence, particularly among adolescents who live away from their families. This study aims to examine the relationship between parental attachment and independence among adolescents living away from home in the Faculty of Psychology. The respondents in this study were adolescents aged 17–21 years who lived apart from their parents. The research sample consisted of 233 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test, which yielded a correlation coefficient of r = 0.266 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between parental attachment and independence among adolescents living away from home. This means that the higher the level of parental attachment perceived by adolescents, the higher their level of independence, and vice versa. These findings can serve as a basis for designing emotional support programs for adolescents living away from home to enhance independence through strengthening parent–child relationships.
