Abstract

Introduction: Treatment compliance is a major problem in overcoming diabetes mellitus. This case inhibits the achievement of optimal levels of health for people with diabetes mellitus. However, various types of factors that enable patients to be disobedient to treatment have not been widely studied in terms of pharmacy. Objective: This study aimed to identify behavioral factors that influence diabetes mellitus patient compliance in taking oral antidiabetic drugs. Methods: This study was observational analysis using cross-sectional design. Sampling was obtained by accidental sampling method. The independent variables in this study were the knowledge and attitudes of patients; availability of health care facilities, and behavior of pharmaceutical officers. Whereas, the dependent variable was the compliance of the patients with diabetes mellitus taking antidiabetic drugs. Data were collected using valid questionnaires then analyzed using correlational analysis. Results: The results of this study indicated that the support of pharmacists had significant effect on patient compliance (p = 0.006). Whereas, knowledge, behavior, and availability of health service facilities had no significant effect on patient compliance in taking oral antidiabetic drugs (results in sequence: p = 0.642; p = 0.379; p = 0498). Conclusion: The role of pharmacist is very important in efforts to provide information and motivation for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, especially the consumption of oral antidiabetic drugs. This research is expected to improve pharmacy services related to the accuracy of providing information to patients. It will also have an impact on improving the quality of life of patients and providing quality services.Keywords: Behavioral factors, Diabetes mellitus, Patient compliance.

Abstract

Intoduction: Self-medication is the selection and use of modern drugs, herbs, and traditional medicines by individuals to overcome diseases or symptoms of disease. One mild disease that can be treated with self-medication is gastritis. The over-the-counter medication which is frequently used in treating gastritis in self- medication is antacid.Objective: To determine the correlation between attitudes and antacid rational use in self-medication among health students at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.Methods:  observational analytic method using questionnaire was used for this study. The sample consist of 97 people who met inclusion criteria. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method, then the data were analyzed using Rank Spearman analysis using SPSS. This research was conducted at the campus II, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.Results: The results showed that 97 students of health had negative attitudes of 42% (41) and positive attitude of 58 % (56). The rational use of antacid drugs as much as 60% (58), the irrational use of drugs is 40% (39). Results of analysis using Spearman rank correlation test values were rcount 0.680 > rtable 0.202.Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that there is a significant correlation between a positive attitude to the antacid rational use in self-medication on Health Students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang

Abstract

Pharmacists should face challenging situations such as in the pandemic. The main problem is the preparation management of the drugs. Thus, this study aims to find out the effects of the pandemic on the management of pharmaceutical preparations. Articles were searched for using the PubMed and ScienceDirect search engines. PRISMA, or Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes, was utilized in this study. The data selection flow used the PICO (Population, Intervention, Compare, Outcome) method. Based on the discussion conducted, the management of pharmaceutical preparations in pharmacies during the COVID-19 pandemic can still be implemented with imperfect outcomes.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease which ranks second as the cause of death in the infectious disease class after infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Countries contributing to the largest cases of tuberculosis starting from the highest order are India, Indonesia, China, the Philippines and Pakistan. East Java is in second place after West Java Province. Sumenep Regency, ranks first in East Java Province in 2019. Sumenep Regency, has 126 islands, of which 48 islands are inhabited by the community. In mainland Sumenep, the most cases of pulmonary tuberculosis are located in Bluto District, one of the endemic areas. Therefore, community service by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University, Surabaya was carried out in Bluto District, Sumenep Regency. This targets four categories of Sustainable Development Goals, namely Good health and well-being; Quality education; Peace, justice and strong institutions; and Partnership for the goals. Besides that, this community service targets achievement on Key Performance Indicators 2, 3, 5 and 7. The four KPIs characterize off-campus activities and involvement with the community. Therefore, this community service formulates a comprehensive and systematic approach in responding to problems related to the TB infectious disease. The community service was carried out for two days, namely on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11 2022 at Kampung Negara, Bungbungan Village, Bluto District, Sumenep Regency. The participants in this first year were farmer groups and health center staff, as well as pharmacists who practice in various health facilities serving TB patients. From the results of the evaluation through a questionnaire with statistical analysis, and the results of the discussion it can be concluded that this counseling is very useful for participants according to their confession and can increase participants' understanding of TB disease, its treatment and prevention.

Abstract

Remaja putri rentan terhadap defisiensi zat besi. Hal ini karena menstruasi yang dialami remaja putri memungkinkan banyaknya kehilangan darah, sehingga kebutuhan gizi, termasuk zat besi akan bertambah seiring dengan menstruasi. Dalam mengatasi potensi anemia, salah satu suplemen yang digunakan adalah tablet tambah darah. Tablet tambah darah bermanfaat untuk menggantikan kehilangan zat besi akibat menstruasi dan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan zat besi yang tidak dapat dipenuhi dari makanan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap mahasiswi Universitas Airlangga terkait tablet tambah darah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif observasional dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah non random sampling. Responden dalam penelitian adalah mahasiswi aktif jenjang S1 Universitas Airlangga di Kota Surabaya, berusia 17-23 tahun. Penelitian ini diikuti oleh 103 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 4,8% responden mempunyai tingkat pengetahuan rendah, 54,4% mempunyai tingkat pengetahuan sedang, dan 40,8% mempunyai tingkat pengetahuan tinggi. Selain itu, sebagian besar responden yaitu sebesar 94,2% memiliki sikap yang positif, sedangkan 5,8% memiliki sikap negatif terkait tablet tambah darah. Pengetahuan mahasiswi masih perlu ditingkatkan, agar sikap dan kesadaran terkait tablet tambah semakin baik.

Abstract

Pada akhir tahun 2019 terjadi pandemi COVID-19. Pandemi ini menyebabkan masyarakat berupaya agar terhindar dari penularan virus COVID-19, salah satunya dengan membeli kebutuhan obat secara swamedikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan telefarmasi dalam memenuhi kebutuhan obat secara swamedikasi pada kelompok usia produktif di era pandemi COVID - 19. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Responden diperoleh secara accidental sampling dengan menggunakan kuesioner online melalui google form yang disebarkan melalui media sosial. Jumlah responden yang berpartisipasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 172 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan telefarmasi dalam memenuhi kebutuhan obat secara swamedikasi pada kelompok usia produktif di era pandemi COVID - 19 sebesar 24,42%. Alasan terbanyak penggunaan telefarmasi adalah kepraktisan. Sebanyak 56,98% responden tidak mengetahui bahwa terdapat apotek yang menerapkan telefarmasi. Meskipun demikian, sebanyak 86,63% responden menyatakan keberadaan telefarmasi di era pandemi merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting dan sangat dibutuhkan. Diperlukan media promosi kesehatan yang tepat untuk masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan telefarmasi dalam memenuhi kebutuhan obat secara swamedikasi pada usia produktif di era pandemi COVID - 19

Abstract

Penyakit tuberkulosis (TB) adalah penyakit infeksi menular yang menjadi peringkat kedua sebagai penyebab kematian dalam golongan penyakit infeksi setelah penyakit infeksi HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Kabupaten Pamekasan menduduki peringkat kelima di Jatim dalam hal kasus TBC tersebut, setelah Kabupaten Sumenep, Lumajang, Kota Malang, dan Jember. Kondisi yang ada penderita TB tidak patuh menggunakan obat karena merasa tidak nyaman dan takut terhadap efek samping yang ditimbulkan oleh obat TB tersebut. Sementara para pengelola TB tidak dapat memberi jalan keluar atau solusi terhadap permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh penderita. Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pamekasan berkomitmen untuk meningkatkan  pemahaman pengelola TB di Puskesmas terkait penggunaan obat yang rasional dan cara mengatasi efek samping dari semua obat TB, sehingga mereka dapat membantu para penderita menjalankan pengobatan jangka panjang tanpa merasa takut. Metode kegiatan berupa pelatihan tentang Pengobatan TB pada pengelola TB Puskesmas dan Penglola obat pada Puskesmas di Kabupaten Pamekasan. pelaksanaan kegiatan pada tanggal 16 oktober 2021 bertempat di aula Balai Redjo, di Pamekasan. Peserta sebanyak 53 orang yang terdiri dari perawat, apoteker dan tenaga teknis kefarmasian. Hasil evaluasi terhadap pemahaman peserta  menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pemahaman yaitu dengan nilai rata-rata 65,98 setelah pelatihan dan 45,22 sebelum pelatihan dengan p wikcoxon signed ranks test = 0,000. Kesimpulan Pelatihan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pemahaman pengelola TB dan Penglola obat Puskesmas di Kabupaten Pamekasan terkait pengobatan TB dan cara mengatasi efek samping obat TB.

The financing issued for the treatment of diabetes mellitus diseases can be measured using Cost of Illness analysis.Research Objectives : To find out the total cost of treatment of diabetes mellitus patients BPJS participants with Glymepiride-Metformin therapy for one year.Method : This study used a non-probability sampling technique with an accidental sampling method. This research conducted at Ketapang II Health Center with sample total 45 people. The instrument used a structured interview which was previously tested for validity. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel.Result and Conclusion : The estimate total cost of treatment of diabetes mellitus with outpatient glimepiride-metformin therapy of Indonesia Health Insurance participants at Ketapang II Health Center in Sampit city for one year is Rp.623.760 - Rp.4.475.520. The direct medical cost per patient is Rp.143.760 - Rp.2.787.120. Non-medical direct cost is Rp.0 - Rp.188.400. Indirect cost is Rp.480.000 - Rp.1.500.000. High cost are more expensive but the frequency of visits and patient compliance are orderly so that the therapeutic effect achieved is good, while the low cost is cheaper but the frequency of patient visits and patient compliance are not orderly so that the therapeutic effect achieved is less good and not maximal.

Abstract

Antasida merupakan obat yang sering digunakan sebagai pilihan terapi dispepsia. Obat antasida bekerja dengan mekanisme menetralkan asam lambung. Pengetahuan mengenai ketepatan penggunaan antasida berpengaruh terhadap tercapainya tujuan terapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa non kesehatan Universitas Airlangga terhadap ketepatan penggunaan antasida. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan metode non random sampling dengan melakukan survei menggunakan instrumen kuesioner melalui Google Form. Sejumlah 141 responden dipilih menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara pemberian skor terhadap jawaban responden (salah = 0 dan benar = 1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebesar 65,25% responden memiliki pengetahuan yang baik dan sebesar 34,75% responden memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup terkait penggunaan antasida. Berdasarkan sumber informasi penggunaan antasida, sejumlah 47% responden menjawab dari keluarga, 45% dari internet, dan 40% dari dokter, sedangkan sisanya memperoleh informasi dari apoteker, teman, iklan di televisi, dan belum pernah memperoleh informasi. Upaya promosi kesehatan sangat penting dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa mengenai cara penggunaan antasida dengan tepat sehingga efek terapi akan lebih optimal.
