Abstract

Fundamental changes in 21st-century learning impact geography learning, which must be balanced with students' spatial thinking ability. This ability is a core ability in geography that students must have in the process and results of learning geography. The inquiry-based learning model, with the help of story maps, is an alternative way to stimulate students to develop the ability to think spatially. This study aims to determine how applying inquiry-based learning using story maps affects spatial thinking abilities, especially in seismic studies. The method used in this study was an experiment with a quasi-experimental type using a posttest-only control group design. Data collection techniques in this study used a test in the form of posttest and observation to observe the learning process during the study. Posttest data were obtained from 66 class X students of SMAN 1 Genteng, divided into control and experimental classes. The data were analyzed using the classic assumption regression test, and further hypothesis analysis was done using a simple linear regression test. The results of this study show an influence of the application of story map-assisted inquiry-based learning on students' spatial thinking abilities at 16.7%, as assessed by R Square. In addition, the findings in this study show that the average scores for each indicator of thinking ability are diverse. The highest average in both control and experimental classes, namely analogy and transition indicators. While the lowest average in both courses is the comparison indicator.

Abstract

Malang City is the second-most populous city in East Java after Surabaya City. In addition, development in Malang City in recent years has also impacted changes in land use and land cover. The methods used in this research are: 1) built-up area index (EBBI, NDBI, and UI) of Malang City from 2019 to 2023; 2) dasymetric density; 3) distance measurement; and 4) gradient direction. The results of the calculation of the built-up area index show that UI has an average kappa accuracy of 0.75, which is higher than the other two indices. In 2019–2020, the built-up area of Malang City decreased, while in 2021–2023,. There was an increase in the built-up area. This condition is caused by large-scale social restrictions that cause a decrease in development in various sectors. The development of urban sprawl in Malang City in 2019–2023 leads to the north, namely in the districts of Lowokwaru and Blimbing. The correlation test shows that the total population variable has a strong correlation with the urban sprawl (density) variable based on five districts in Malang City.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi akan membawa dampak pada dunia pendidikan sehingga akan banyak media yang akan terus berkembang dan bervariatif. Namun berdasarkan permasalahan di lapangan banyak guru yang belum memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi di dalam proses pembelajaran khususnya pelajaran geografi. Mata pelajaran merupakan pelajaran yang cenderung bersifat hafalan sehingga siswa tidak bisa mengapresiasikan jawaban mereka berdasarkan pengalaman yang mereka dapatkan dalam kehidupan mereka, karena pada awalnya mereka sudah terpatok oleh buku. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan media E-Comic berbasis pendekatan kontekstual pada materi mitigasi bencana gunung meletus. Lokasi penelitian di SMA PGRI 1 Lumajang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) RnD dengan model ADDIE terdapat 5 tahap: 1) Analyze, melakukan analisis kurikulum, karakter siswa, dan keperluan guru; 2) Design, membuat storyboard terhadap produk yang akan dikembangkan; 3) Development, membuat produk sesuai rancangan; 4) Implementation, uji coba produk kepada ahli validator dan subjek penelitian. hasil uji kelayakan yang dilakukan oleh validator ahli media memperoleh hasil 87 persen, validator ahli materi 97 persen, hasil yang didapat dari uji kelayakan pada guru 95 persen dan hasil kelayakan yang dilakukan kepada siswa yaitu 87 persen. Maka media yang dikembangakan oleh peniliti dinyatakan layak.

Abstract

Mangrove merupakan vegetasi yang akarnya menjalar dipermukaan, dan berada di muara sungai, dan pesisir. Hutan mangrove sangat penting keberadaannya karena merupakan sistem di dalam menyeimbangkan ekosistem di pesisir, dan muara sungai. Deforestasi hutan mangrove dari akibat alih fungsi lahan pada vegetasi mangrove menjadi ancaman bagi keberlanjutan kehidupan di wilayah pesisir, dan muara. Keberadaan vegetasi mangrove yang penting bagi Kabupaten Belitung Timur untuk menjaga dari abrasi, dan habitat satwa. Aktivitas manusia menyebabkan alih fungsinya hutan mangrove sehingga menimbulkan deforestasi. Aktivitas manusia menyebabkan alih fungsi berbentuk aktivitas pertambangan, dan budidaya tambak udang. Luasan hutan mangrove yang semakin berkurang dari aktivitas tersebut menyebabkan deforestasi. Hal ini akan menjadi ancaman kepunahan yang akan terjadi di masa depan. Monitoring mangrove sangat penting karena untuk melihat deforestasi luasan hutan mangrove yang berubah dari tahun 2017 ke tahun 2024. Data Sentinel 2 sangat berperan penting untuk data yang diolah untuk melihat keberadaan, dan luasan alih fungsi. Dengan menggunakan rumus Mangrove Vegetation Index (MVI) untuk mengetahui area vegetasi mangrove. Pengolahan data menggunakan cara Random Forest untuk menganalisis tingkat lanjut terhadap perubahan alih fungsi mangrove. Sehingga memudahkan dalam pemetaan terjadinya alih fungsi mangrove. Dilakukan juga survei lapangan (ground check) untuk validasi pada Area of Interest (AOI) yang dikaji.

Abstract

Technological developments in the industrial revolution 4.0 era are progressing rapidly, as is the world of education. Technological advances in the world of education are increasingly sophisticated by utilizing media as a learning aid. This study aims to develop a digital learning media, specifically the Baluran Ecotourism media supported by Google Sites, and to evaluate its feasibility and practicality in the context of geography education. The research employed the ADDIE instructional design model, comprising the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, due to its systematic and iterative structure, which allows for continuous feedback and refinement throughout the development process. The data analysis incorporated both qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches: qualitative analysis was conducted through expert feedback and open-ended responses, while quantitative analysis was based on questionnaire scores collected from validators, students, and teachers using a Likert-scale instrument. This research instrument is a material validation and media validation questionnaire, then a student and teacher response questionnaire after using the media. implementation was carried out on students and teachers of SMAN 1 Asembagus and received a positive response. The research results showed that material experts obtained results of 86% (very feasible) and media experts obtained results of 78% (very feasible). The results of student responses obtained an average of 87.9% (very practical). So it can be concluded that the Baluran Ecotourism learning media has been validated and is suitable for use by students and teachers in geography learning.

Abstract

Rice is a staple food for the majority of Indonesia's population. Therefore, monitoring of rice growth phase and rice phenology is important. Remote sensing technology with Sentinel-2 imagery is applied to quickly obtain data over a large area at PT. Sang Hyang Seri. The NDVI algorithm is used to monitor plant growth and is correlated with plant age to determine the growth phase of rice. The effect of rainfall, soil type and slope were correlated to the NDVI value and the differences in NDVI values were analyzed for the differences in these physical factors. The results showed that the trend of the NDVI value of the rice growth phase was in the form of a parabolic curve of the order-2. The age of rice is generally 110 days old. Land units are divided into 3, according to these physical factors (OATRAL, DFTRL, DFTTL). The factors of rainfall, soil type and slope have an effect on plant fertility, but have no significant effect on the age of rice plants. The duration of the nursery affects the age of rice planting.

Abstract

Kebakaran hutan di Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru menimbulkan banyak dampak negatif. Diantaranya, banyak vegetasi yang mati, lahan menjadi gersang, dan dampak sosial ekonomi lainnya. Identifikasi area terbakar secara konvensional cukup sulit dan memakan banyak biaya untuk wilayah yang luas. Untuk itu, dilakukan penelitian dengan penginderaan jauh untuk memetakan area terdampak berdasarkan tingkat keparahan kebakaran di area TNBTS yang cukup luas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan multitemporal dengan membandingkan keakuratan dan efektivitas indeks kebakaran, yaitu NBR (Normalized Burned Ratio) dan BAIS2 (Burned Area Index for Sentinel-2). Tahap penelitian meliputi analisis citra sebelum dan sesudah kebakaran, kemudian dihitung selisih indeks dan indeks separabilitasnya dan dicari luasan tingkat keparahan kebakaran. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Indeks BAIS2 lebih baik daripada NBR dalam mengidentifikasi kebakaran. Hal ini dilihat dari akurasi tertinggi pada kelas terbakar ringan indeks dBAIS2 sebesar 92,5%. Sedangkan, Indeks dNBR memiliki akurasi tertinggi 77,5% pada kelas yang sama. Hasil uji indeks separabilitas menunjukkan bahwa BAIS2 lebih baik dalam membedakan area terbakar dan tidak terbakar dibandingkan NBR. Indeks BAIS2 lebih baik dalam memetakan area terdampak kebakaran dengan luas total 5462,6 Ha sedangkan indeks NBR hanya merekam 3239,09 Ha.
