Abstract

This study aims to describe the experiences of fifth grade elementary school students in writing creative stories based on storyscaping and identify the challenges faced in the process. The storyscaping approach integrates elements of visualization, exploration of personal experiences, and development of creativity to help students write stories with a systematic narrative structure. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with students and documentation of their writing. The results showed that this method was effective in enhancing students' creativity, enabling them to think critically, generate original ideas, and understand and internalize moral values in the story. In addition, students showed an increase in interest and ability in writing stories, supported by a supportive learning environment and teacher guidance. This study also found that storyscaping-based story writing helped students recognize culture, strengthen self-identity, and increase awareness of environmental issues through relevant personal experiences. However, the main challenges include students' limitations in developing complex storylines and utilizing creative elements optimally. This study provides a new contribution to experiential learning by combining narrative and technology approaches to improve students' writing skills. This emphasizes the importance of innovation in education to support literacy competencies in the digital era.

Abstract

Urbanization and digitalization of culture in big cities including Jakarta, shift the way the younger generation interprets traditional symbols. Gatot Kaca, famous as a puppet character, also experienced reinterpretation through performing arts as a strategy for preserving cultural identity. This study aims to understand the reinterpretation in the Lenong Betawi performance of the play Satria Millennial, where Gatot Kaca is adapted into an urban expression space. Using a phenomenological approach, data was collected through interviews and documentation of the creative process of the Satria Millennial performance. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed thematically following Moustakas' framework. The results show three main reinterpretations: (1) a pandemic-themed story, (2) the character of Gatot Kaca transforming into a comic-educational figure, and (3) the performance integrating lenong, musical, and urban humor. These three reinterpretations strengthen the function of art as a vehicle for cultural preservation, education, and mediation of local cultural identity in modern society.

Abstract

The major objective of this work is to investigate the evolution of musicalization poetry with the assistance of deep artificial intelligence (AI). Educational context learning at the school level. This research utilised 4D model research and development (R&D) methodologies, encompassing the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. During the Define stage, an article analysis is conducted to define the theme of poetry. The Design step entails students creating poetry that aligns with predetermined themes. Artificial intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT and Suno Music Generator are employed at the Develop stage to transform poetry into music. The dissemination phase included conducting experiments at 20 schools in Sukabumi, where students were selected as samples to receive bait and return. Research findings indicated that the usage of AI apps can significantly enhance language competency, creativity, and cultural understanding among students. Evidence-based 4D research and development approach successful in combining poetry with musicalization. Nevertheless, issues such as linguistic complexity and instructor competence have to be addressed. In general, the use of artificial intelligence in musicalising poetry represents significant promise. In order to enhance the learning experience and increase student engagement in literary education.

Abstract

Lexical collocation becomes a major focus. Elementary school children face challenges in choosing the right words to describe their holiday experiences clearly and interestingly. In facing this problem, it is important for teachers to guide students in expanding their vocabulary, choosing words that are appropriate to the holiday context, and combining lexical collocations in creative ways to build interesting and memorable stories. This study aims to determine the lexical collocation of words in narratives about fifth-grade students' holidays. This type of research is a corpus linguistics method with a qualitative approach. The data used in this study are written data, namely narrative essays about fifth-grade students' holidays. The data collected were 22 students. Researchers analyzed the results of students' writings using the AntConc application. The results of this study show that the most frequent lexical collocation patterns in fifth-grade students' holiday narratives at SDN Layungsari 2 are the collation patterns of adjectives + verbs, verbs + nouns, adverbs + adjectives, and verbs + adverbs. Holiday writing is an expression of happiness from students and locations that indicate nouns. These results indicate that the lexical collocation patterns used by students reflect their tendency to express happiness, describe activities, and mention locations clearly, thus supporting the function of holiday narratives as a medium for expressing personal experiences and emotions.

Abstract

Chinese dramas on short-video platforms reorganize narrative logic by introducing a visual system immediately after moments of crisis. This host-exclusive interface assigns missions, rewards, and procedural actions, shifting storytelling from exploratory problem-solving to system-driven intervention that directly bypasses narrative obstacles. This study employs a qualitative approach using document-based structural narrative analysis. Narrative readings are conducted through Chase’s narrative model to examine how systems function as meaning-making practices within Chinese digital dramas. Narrative is conceptualized as a cultural mechanism that organizes crisis and problem-solving through visual systems. The data consist of digital narrative documents, including selected episode segments, crisis scenes, and visual system representations from dramas themed around reincarnation and cross-reality transitions. The analysis applies thematic procedures to map system functions in structuring relations between crisis, action, and outcomes. The findings formulate a Visual Consciousness System Model that explains how narrative crises trigger system activation, transforming the protagonist into a host-exclusive subject governed by predefined system parameters. Within this model, crisis functions as an activation threshold, the system operates as a host-only interface, and character consciousness is procedurally oriented toward task execution rather than reflective evaluation. Action unfolds through system-regulated procedures, producing outcomes that resolve crisis without narrative exploration and reproduce new crisis conditions through continued system dependence. This model implies a broader shift in digital storytelling, where problem-solving is no longer framed as cognitive exploration but as procedural compliance with visual systems. Narrative agency is reconfigured as system alignment, and creativity is reduced to optimization within closed parameters rather than the generation of alternative narrative possibilities.
