Abstract

Tracer study of Surabaya State University has been conducted in each study program in order to fulfill accreditation needs. Instrument development is still carried out independently at the study program and faculty levels so that the disparity of instruments in each faculty is very high. This study will later aim to create an effective alumni tracing model in achieving a response rate. Because in several universities throughout Indonesia, a superior model has not been found and detailed properly. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The population in this study were graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Surabaya who had obtained diplomas throughout 2022. The sample used was a saturated sample considering that this study aims to explore graduate data related to careers. The results showed that the response rate reached 100%, with more than 67.8% of graduates getting jobs in less than six months with an income of at least 1.2 times the UMP, exceeding the institution's target. This tracer study plays an important role in evaluating the quality of graduates and the relevance of education to the world of work. These findings provide a basis for improving the curriculum and quality of education at Universitas Negeri Surabaya.

Abstract

This study examines the development and validation of a non-test instrument for assessing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in vocational high schools, specifically within the Office Management and Business Services (OMBS) program. The instrument covers seven constructs: problem identification, fact identification, hypothesis formulation, self-directed learning, collaboration and cooperation, solution determination, and evaluation of the problem-solving process. This study uses a quantitative method with a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) approach to test the validity and reliability of the instrument. Using probability sampling with simple random sampling, 372 respondents (30 teachers and 342 students) from vocational schools in Surabaya participated. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 16 for reliability testing and LISREL 8.8 for CFA. Results showed high internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.949) and satisfactory anti-image coefficients (>0.5), indicating that the data met the requirements for factor analysis. The results of the model fit test also showed that the developed CFA with modification indices model met the criteria for a good fit with a Chi-square value of 170.51 with a degree of freedom (df) of 110, producing a p-value = 0.00019, an RMSEA value of 0.039 <0.08. The validity and reliability of the constructs in each instrument indicator also prove that this model meets a good fit with the resulting value above 0.5. Thus, this non-test instrument is worthy of being used as an assessment standard for evaluating problem-based learning in vocational high schools in the OMBS program to improve the quality of student learning outcomes.

Abstract

For an emerging economy such as Indonesia, income taxes significantly contribute to her revenue generation profile. The efficacy of tax education during taxpayers' educational trajectory stands as a pivotal factor in achieving successful tax revenue collection. The primary objective of this study is to examine the impact of tax education on tax compliance among students from diverse ethnic backgrounds. This is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. Open-ended questionnaires were developed, tested, and distributed to students. A total of 372 valid responses were returned and the data was analyzed using the Smart PLS tool. Findings from the analysis revealed a significant effect of tax education on tax compliance across all ethnic groups (Javanese, Sundanese, Batak, Minang, Malay, and Others) with the maximum and minimum effect recorded in the Sundanese (73.5%) and Batak (47.2%) respectively. This study contributes to bridging the research gap in tax education and tax compliance from a multi-ethnic approach in Indonesia. It is recommended that public tax awareness campaigns, targeted at both students and the public in Indonesia be sustained, as this drives an increase in tax compliance across all ethnicities in the medium to long term. This research makes a theoretical contribution by highlighting the significance of tax education as a determining factor. From a policy perspective, this study offers valuable insights to education policymakers, emphasizing the necessity for regular enhancements and adaptations in tax education practices.

Abstract

This study examines hybrid archival management practices within the population administration service bureaucracy at the Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil of Malang City as a phenomenon reflecting the tension between the public service digitalization agenda and the need for conventional administrative control. Although population information systems have been implemented to support electronic-based services, physical and digital archiving practices continue to be carried out simultaneously through processes of printing, manual verification, physical recording, rescanning, and digital storage. This study aims to elucidate how hybrid archival practices are executed in the day-to-day operations of the population bureaucracy, the organizational rationality underlying their persistence, and their implications for administrative burden, accountability, and the sustainability of records governance. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with ten purposively selected informants, direct observation of service and archiving processes, and documentation studies of procedures and archival records. The results indicate five main findings: hybrid archiving has been institutionalized as an administrative work routine; dual record-keeping is maintained as a mechanism for organizational security and legitimacy; hybrid archival practices generate significant administrative burden and work pressure; employees develop informal work practices as adaptation strategies; and employee perceptions of hybrid archiving are ambivalent regarding digital efficiency versus physical accountability. This study implies the need for more realistic and contextual archival policies, strengthening of cross-unit records governance, and enhancement of human resource capacity and digital record legitimacy to ensure that public archival transformation proceeds effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

It is necessary to understand digital-based family document management through training activities provided to the women's community in Sukodono-Sidoarjo. The aim of this program is to increase awareness of digital-based family document management in the era of technology 4.0 by providing lectures and practice of digital family archiving using Google Drive to mothers who have direct contact with managing documents in the family. This Community Service adopts experimental research with a quasi-experiment model, one group pretest-posttest design, where the level of success of the program can be seen from the increase in the training participants' abilities as shown by the results of the N-Gain Test calculation through Pretest and Posttest, affective scores, and psychomotor scores each participant. The results show that the digital-based family document management training agenda using Google Drive was effectively implemented by all participants based on the cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects of this training. The effectiveness of this training has implications for increasing public awareness of digital archives for family documents owned by all participants, where this awareness is aimed at the use of digital public services in Sidoarjo. The use of the digital public service agenda promoted by the Government is an effort to increase SDGS 9 achievements in the indicator of the proportion of the population served by mobile broadband. Thus, the better prepared the community is to support digital public services, the higher the SDGs 9 score in a region/region.

Abstract

Urban food security in rapidly urbanizing contexts remains constrained by limited land availability and weak community-level adoption of sustainable food practices. Although urban farming is widely promoted, existing approaches are predominantly technocentric and insufficiently integrate experiential learning, community empowerment, and scalable dissemination mechanisms. This study is among the first to propose and empirically demonstrate an integrative model that combines low-cost bottle aquaponics, experiential learning, and educational tourism (eduwisata) as a community-based diffusion platform. Using an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the intervention was implemented through field assessment, participatory training, and experiential dissemination. The findings reveal that simple, highly replicable systems significantly enhance food literacy, technical capability, and adoption intention, while eduwisata accelerates diffusion beyond initial participants. This study advances urban food security literature by bridging technological and social dimensions and offers a scalable pathway linking education, local food production, and community empowerment in resource-constrained urban environments.
