Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the alleviation of symptoms related to Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) among warehouse operators engaged in Manual Material Handling tasks using forklifts, with an emphasis on assessing body posture. The study's objectives include identifying the discomfort experienced by employees, analyze posture movements, and provide recommendations for action based on NBM and REBA methodologies. To address these issues, the NBM questionnaire was employed to assess the angles of worker’s body postures during their tasks. The results showed that there were 19 body parts that experienced discomfort including early indications of MSDs symptoms. The average score of the NBM questionnaire reached 55.1 which indicated a high risk so that immediate action was needed. The REBA method was used to assess body posture with a final score of 6 indicating a moderate risk and confirming the need for intervention. Operator activities are at high risk of increasing MSDs symptoms so that regular supervision of forklift use is needed, socialization regarding the importance of occupational safety and health (K3), and attention to environmental factors by adding facilities such as blowers and special forklift lanes. Abstract

PT.XYZ is a company engaged in manufacturing, specifically in the production of granulated sugar. The problem that occurs in this company is the increasing number of gravel sugar defects by 18% or 1,019.52 tons. This number far exceeds the defect limit set by the company of 5% or 283.2 tons per month. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the risks of the sugar production process using the House of Risk (HOR) method and determine the best alternative for priority risk mitigation through the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method at PT.XYZ. The HOR method is used to identify and classify risks based on severity and likelihood. Furthermore, the ANP method is used to determine the priority of risk mitigation strategies by considering the interdependence between risks. The results of the study showed that through the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) approach, 25 risk events and 25 risk sources were obtained which will be used to determine the mitigation strategy in the House Of Risk (HOR) method. Based on the calculation results of the rate agreement for alternative (W) of 0.777778, it shows a fairly high level of conformity among respondents' answers in selecting risk mitigation alternatives. Based on the calculation results on the super decision software, the highest normalized value was obtained, namely in the Desuperheater alternative of 0.51145. With this research, it is expected to help companies in overcoming company problems and can increase profits for the company.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry in Indonesia has experienced significant growth, leading to a high level of urgency concerning environmental pollution. Currently, within the manufacturing sector, there is an increased emphasis on environmental protection and sustainable production, which has become a key priority for companies. One approach to preventing environmental pollution is the implementation of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM). PT. XYZ is one of the companies that has not yet fully implemented this concept. This is evident from the considerable amount of waste and scrap materials from ship production that remain poorly managed. Based on these circumstances, this study was conducted with the objective of evaluating the performance level of Green Supply Chain Management at the company. The research adopts the Green SCOR model, using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) for weighting and Objective Matrix (OMAX) for scoring. Data processing is carried out using five Green SCOR models: plan, source, make, deliver, and return, resulting in a total of 26 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Out of the 26 KPIs, 5 fall under the red category, 6 are categorized as yellow, and the remaining 15 are in the green category. The final performance score for Green SCM activities at the company is 7.890, which falls within the yellow category. This indicates an average performance level, where the achievement of the performance indicators has not yet reached the target, although it is nearing the desired goal.

Abstract

PT WXY, which operates in the cement industry, seeks to improve operational efficiency by forecasting demand for EzPro type bulk cement for the coming period. This study aims to determine the most effective forecasting method using two approaches, namely Moving Average and Single Exponential Smoothing, and analyzing historical data for 10 months using POM QM V5 software. The accuracy of the forecasting results is evaluated by Mean Squared Error (MSE). The results show that the Single Exponential Smoothing method has an MSE of 1,113,479,000, lower than the Moving Average method which reaches 1,721,099,000. Therefore, Single Exponential Smoothing is chosen as the best forecasting method to improve accuracy, optimize distribution schedules, and reduce operational risks such as excess or shortage of stock. Consistent application of this method is expected to support the smoothness of the supply chain and improve the company's operational efficiency.
