Abstract

Dormansi merupakan kondisi dimana benih tidak berkecambah walaupun pada kondisi lingkungan yang memungkinkan untuk berkecambah. Dormansi menjadi salah satu faktor penghambat dalam perbanyakan tanaman kopi secara generative. Salah satu alternatif untuk mematahkan dormansi benih melalui penggunaan zat pengatur tumbuh alami seperti air kelapa karena mengandung sitokinin dan dapat mematahkan dormansi benih. Beberapa penelitian menggunakan air kelapa untuk memacu perkecambahan benih. Konsentrasi dan lama perendaman berpengaruh terhadap kecepatan berkecambah, persentase kecambah dan lama kecambah benih. Reviuw artikel ini diperoleh dari bebera artikel jurnal nasional. Hasil reviuw menunjukkan bahwa air kelapa muda dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memecahkan dormansi benih kopi melalui perendaman 24 jam dengan konsentrasi air kelapa 100%.

Abstract

Local rice is rice that has been cultivated for generations by the community and commonly cultivated without using chemical inputs. Endophytic fungi are fungi that live in the plant tissue and does not cause disease symptoms in the host plants. This study aimed to molecular identifying isolates of MDTA and MDTB endophytic fungi which have been isolated from the local Pulu Mandoti rice plant tissue and growth test on the four types of culture media those were synthetic PDA, natural PDA, MPA, and MEA. The fungi DNA isolation using DNesay Kit. DNA sequencing analysis using the mega BLAST program showed that the MDTB fungus has similarities to Podoscypha bolleana strain 32034 no accession JQ675334 and Podoscypha bolleana strain 32032 no accession JQ675332, whereas the MDTA fungus has similarities to Coprinopsis cinerea A2S3-5 isolate and Coprinopsis cinerea strain CNRMA / F 07-32. The best culture media and sporulation of endophytic fungi is MPA media. This research is the first study to molecular identifying with endophytic fungi from local rice and viability test on the four types of culture media. The results of this study contribute to the diversity of local rice endophytic fungi in Sulawesi.

Abstract

Kompos merupakan bahan organik yang telah mengalami proses dekomposi oleh mikroba. Kompos mengandung unsur hara makro dan mikro yang lengkap namun kadarnya kecil. Penambahan bahan pengaya dalam kompos dapat meningkatkan kualitas kompos. KTH Mega Buana 3 merupakan salah satu kelompok tani hutan yang memproduksi kompos dengan memanfaatkan daun-daun kering, rerumputan dan limbah organik lainnya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada anggota KTH Mega Buana 3 tentang limbah pertanian yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pengaya kompos. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan dilaksanakan di tempat pembuatan kompos KTH Mega Buana 3. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah: 1) anggota KTH mengetahui limbah pertanian yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pengaya kompos; 2) mengetahui peralatan yang dibutuhkan untuk pembuatan bahan pengaya kompos; 3) terampil menggunakan tungku pengarangan dan mesin penggiling arang. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemanfaatan limbah pertanian seperti batang pisang, kulit kapok dan sabut kelapa sebagai bahan pengaya kompos dan menjadi produk unggulan KTH Mega Buana 3. Kata kunci: Arang, Batang pisang, Kulit kapok, Sabut kelapa. ABSTRACT Compost is organic material that has undergone a microbial decomposition process. Compost contains complete macro and micro nutrients but the levels are small. The addition of additives in the compost can improve the quality of the compost. KTH Mega Buana 3 is a forest farmer group that produces compost by utilizing dry leaves, grass and other organic waste. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and skills to members of KTH Mega Buana 3 about agricultural waste that can be used as compost add-on. The method of implementing the activities is counseling and training. Extension and training activities were carried out at the composting site of KTH Mega Buana 3. The results of this activity were: 1) KTH members knew agricultural waste that could be used as compost add-on; 2) knowing the equipment needed for the manufacture of compost additives; 3) Skilled in using charcoal kilns and grinding machines. This activity is expected to increase the utilization of agricultural waste such as banana stems, kapok skin and coconut fiber as compost additives and become the flagship product of KTH Mega Buana 3. Abstract

Program Pengembangan Usaha Produk Intektual Kampus (PPUPIK) Pusat Produksi Benih Tanaman Bersertifikat Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar pada masa pandemi Covid 19 tetap melakukan aktivitas, namun aktivitas dilakukan di rumah karena adanya penerapan Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) di Kota Makassar.  Kegiatan promosi dan pemasaran produk PPUPIK menggunakan media cetak dan media elektronik. Jenis media cetak yang digunakan yaitu : xbanner, brosur, buku, dan koran. Media elektronik yaitu : video dan internet. Xbanner dipajang di ruang depan kantor PPUPIK dan dipajang pada stand pameran saat mengikuti pameran. Brosur dibagikan pada pengunjung selama kegiatan pameran. Buku disimpan diperpustakaan kampus dan dipajang saat pameran. Publikasi kegiatan pada koran Tribun Timur. Media elektronik berupa video telah diunggah ke YouTube dengan judul cara memproduksi benih jagung hibrida. Penjualan secara langsung selama pandemi tidak dilakukan, penjualan hanya melalui internet. Pengiriman produk menggunakan jasa angkutan on line untuk  wilayah Makassar dan sekitarnya sedangkan untuk jarak jauh menggunakan  jasa pengiriman barang seperti kantor pos. Metode Pembayaran dilakukan melalui transfer setelah barang diterima konsumen.

Abstract

The existence of predatory insects is essential to know because they have contributed significantly to an ecosystem. This study aimed to determine the abundance and diversity of predators in Maccini Sombala Park, Makassar, and the paddy field in Kiru-Kiru Sub-District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. The selection of the two locations was carried out based on the ecosystem conditions in each place, Maccini Sombala Park is a city park in which there are various types of plants that are habitat for insects including predatory insects, as well as in the paddy field ecosystem in Kiru-Kiru Sub-District, based on the results of the observation in the field, in that ecosystem there were symptoms of pest attack such as stem borers and several other types of insects including insects predator on rice plant. This study was conducted by direct observations of purposive sampling and insects sampling using sweep net traps. The highest relative abundance value of natural enemies was found in the family Araneidae 37% in Maccini Sombala Park, and the lowest relative abundance of the family Coccinellidae was 2.3%. The highest relative abundance value of natural enemies in the paddy field of Kiru-Kiru Sub-District was found in the family Coccinellidae 54.3%, and the lowest relative abundance of the family Formicidae was 2.5%. The diversity index values of predators in both places as moderate diversity category, and the evenness index values of the two ecosystems showed that high evenness.

Abstract

One of the efforts to accelerate the seeds' dormancy period is to use physiologically mature seeds and applicant of endophytic fungi. This study aims to determine the level of fruit maturity and the type of fungus that can accelerate germination and growth. This research was arranged with a Randomized Block Design with 2 treatments, namely the level of fruit maturity (based on the color) and the type of endophytic fungus. The maturity level of coffee cherries (coffee fruit skin color) consists of 4 levels, namely: brown, red, orange, and yellow. The second factor is the type of endophytic fungus with 2 levels, namely: isolate CE-1, isolate CE-5, and as control without endophytic fungi. The parameters observed were the percentage of germination (%), cotyledon rupture (days), fully open Institute leaves (days), the emergence of the first leaf (days), seedling height (cm), number of leaves (strands), root length (cm), weight plant fresh weight (gr), root fresh weight (gr), leaf root weight (gr), plant dry weight (gr), root dry weight (gr), leaf dry weight (gr). The results showed that the maturity level of coffee cherries significantly affected the percentage of germination, emergence of the first leaves, and plant fresh weight. The best fruit maturity level for the percentage of germination was red with 98.5% germination percentage, first leaf appearance (44 days), and plant fresh weight (0.25 g). The type of endophytic fungus isolate had a significant effect on the percentage of germination, fully open Institute leaves, and the emergence of the first leaves. The endophytic fungus CE-5 showed the best results in the percentage of germination parameters (93.06%), fully open institutional leaves (28 days), and first leaf emergence (46 days). The use of red coffee cherries with the application of endophytic fungi can be used to germinate and growth of coffee seedlings.

Abstract

One of the inhibiting factors in providing sugar palm seeds is the dormancy period of sugar palm seeds and the growth of germs that take a long time. This study aims to determine the type of isolate and the application dose of endophytic fungus isolates that can accelerate the growth of sugar palm seedlings. The study was arranged using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 treatments. The first treatment was the type of endophytic fungus isolate consisting of 3 levels: isolates C1, C2, and C3. The application dose of endophytic fungus isolate consists of 3 levels, namely: 5 g, 10 g, and 15 g. Parameters observed were shoot emergence, plant height, root length, plant fresh weight, fresh root weight, plant dry weight, and root dry weight. The results showed that endophytic fungi isolates C1 and C3 could increase the growth and biomass of sugar palm seedlings, while the best application dose of endophytic fungi was 5 g. Application of endophytic fungi isolates C1 and C3 with a quantity of 5 g increased the growth and biomass of sugar palm seedlings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh empat jenis limbah pertanian yang digunakan sebagai media tananam dan dosis aplikasinya terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kakao. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Green House menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama jenis limbah pertanian dengan empat taraf yaitu: Limbah kulit kopi (J1), Pupuk kandang sapi (J2), Sekam padi (J3), Serbuk gergaji (J4) dan faktor kedua pemberian dosis dengan tiga taraf yaitu K1 (10%), K2 (20%), K3(30%). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai), diameter batang (mm), bobot segar akar (g), bobot segar tanaman (g), bobot kering akar (g), bobot kering tanaman (g). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan limbah pertanian berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah duan, diameter batang dan berat kering bibit. Limbah kulit kopi menghasilkandiameter batang dan berat kering bibit kakao tertinggi dan berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan lainnya. Perlakuan dosis berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot segar bibit kopi. Dosis 10 % (K1) menghasilkan bobot segar tertitinggi dan berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan lainnya. Penggunaan limbah kulit kopi dengan aplikasi dosis 10% pada media tanam dapat direkomendasikan untuk pembibitan kakao

Abstract

Limbah pertanian seperti sekam, jerami dan pupuk kandang di lokasi mitra Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) Lamperangan tersedia dalam jumlah banyak dan belum dimanfaatkan. Seksi pupuk organik salah satu divisi dari KTH Lamperangan berkeinginan untuk mengembangkan usaha pupuk organik, namun belum mengetahui teknik pembuatan pupuk organik. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada anggota KTH Lamperangan dalam memanfaatkan limbah pertanian yang ada di lokasi KTH menjadi pupuk organik yang dapat digunakan sendiri dan untuk kegiatan usaha anggota KTH. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dibagi dalam 4 tahapan yaitu: 1) Penyiapan bahan dan alat; 2) Penyuluhan tentang pupuk organik; 3) Pelatihan/praktek pembuatan pupuk organik; dan 4) Pendampingan pembuatan pupuk organik. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah anggota KTH Lamperangan mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang bahan dan peralatan untuk pembuatan pupuk organik dan anggota KTH Lamperangan mampu membuat pupuk organik menggunakan bahan dan peralatan yang dimiliki oleh KTH. Dampak yang diharapkan dari kegiatan ini adalah anggota KTH mampu mengolah limbah menjadi pupuk organik dan menjadi salah satu unit usaha dari KTH Lamperangan serta lingkungan menjadi bersih dari tumpukan limbah pertanian. Kata kunci: Jerami, sekam, unit usaha.   ABSTRACT Agricultural waste such as husks, straw and mature at the location the KTH Lamperangan is available in large quantities and has not been utilized. The organic fertilizer Section, one of the divisions of KTH Lamperangan wants to develop an organic fertilizer business, but does not yet know the technique of making organic fertilizer. This activity aims to provide knowledge and skills to members of KTH Lamperangan in utilizing agricultural waste ant the KTH location into organic fertilizer that can be used alone and for the business activities of KTH members. The method of implementing the activities is divided into 4 stages; 1) preparation of materials and tools; 2) counseling on organic fertilizers; 3) training/practice for making organic fertilizers; 4) Assistance in the manufacture of organic fertilizers. The results of this activity are members of KTH Lamperangan gain knowledge about materials and equipment for making organic fertilizers and members of KTH Lamperangan are able to make organic fertilizer using materials dan equipment owned by KTH. The expected impact of this activity is that KTH members are able to process waste into organic fertilizer and become one of the business units of the KTH Lamperangan and the environment becomes clean from piles of waste. Abstract

One factor affecting productivity is the quality of seeds with good initial seed vigor indicators, but less than optimum growing environment conditions also affect seeds' growth and initial Vigor. One of the technologies that can improve it is giving priming treatment to the seeds before planting. This study aims to see the effect of priming treatment to improve the quality of Vigor and early growth of 2 composite corn varieties, namely Sukmaraga and Bisma. The research was carried out in the laboratory and the Green House, with the experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with each seed of the two varieties treated with Hydropriming (soaking seeds before planting) using Ion-Free Water (IFW) for 30 minutes, 12 hours, and 24 hours plus a control treatment without Priming, and priming using PGR made from sodium orthonitrifenol 0.2%, sodium 2,4-dinitrophenol 0.05% both as controls. So there are a total of 10 treatments. The results showed that priming treatment greatly influenced the germination, where all Hydropriming treatments gave average germination above 88%, significantly different from seeds without priming below 82%. The hypocotyl length ratio of Sukmaraga and Bisma corn seeds was also different from the treatment without priming. Seeds with hydropriming for 12 hours showed the best field growth percentage, reaching 96.7% (Sukmaraga variety) and 96.98% (Bisma variety).
