Abstract

The sign system in poetry is an element that builds poetry. Therefore, each poem displays a different style based on the use of symbolic signs. The purpose of this study is to classify the style of authorship in Indonesian popular poetry based on the system of signs and symbolic meanings used by the author. The approach used to analyze the sign system and the symbolic meaning is a semiotic approach. The style of authorship is analyzed based on a stylistic approach. The method used for data analysis is a qualitative-descriptive method. The results showed that the sign system and symbolic meaning in Indonesian popular poems are signs in the form of symbols. The symbols are divided into four, namely symbols in the form of phonemes, words, sentences, and typography. Based on the system of signs and symbolic meanings, the styles of authorship in Indonesian popular poems are classified, namely: 1) styles that rely on phonemes; 2) word-based style; 3) sentence-based style, and 4) style that relies on typography. The conclusion of this research is that there are four sign systems and four types of writing styles. The style of authorship based on the sign system in the form of phonemes, words, sentences, and typography is the level of the sign system that is the center of meaning in a poem.

Abstract

Abstrak This study aims to describe the structure and function of healing spells in Kenagarian Simpang Tonang, Dua Koto District, Pasaman Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded from this study that there are 10 spells consisting of the barah talingo mantra, bagokon mantra, dicakok ulok spell, mancit boltok mantra, baroon spell, tumbur bibison spell, tarpangan mantra, mancit ngingi mantra, pondialon spell and mosok spell. has (1) structure: rhyme (alliteration, assonance, perfect rhyme, imperfect rhyme, initial rhyme, final rhyme, horizontal rhyme and vertical rhyme), soft and flat rhythm, diction used in the form of reading the Koran, stanzas and arrays consisting of 1 stanza with a total of 5 to 10 lines. (2) the function of the mantra as a means of treating disease, a means to pray and bring good. Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur dan fungsi mantra pengobatan di Kenagarian Simpang Tonang Kecamatan Dua Koto Kabupaten Pasaman. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa 10 mantra yang terdiri dari mantra barah talingo, mantra bagokon, mantra dicakok ulok, mantra mancit boltok, mantra baroon, mantra tumbur bibison, mantra tarpangan, mantra mancit ngingi, mantra pondialon dan mantra mosok memiliki (1) struktur : rima (aliterasi, asonansi,rima sempurna,rima tak sempurna, rima awal, rima akhir, rima horizontal dan rima vertikal),irama lembut dan datar,diksi yang digunakan berupa bacaan al quran,bait dan larik terdiri dari 1 bait dengan jumlah 5 sampai 10 larik. (2) fungsi mantra sebagai alat pengobatan penyakit, sarana untuk berdoa dan mendatangkan kebaikan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the style of comparative language contained in Putu Wijaya's 100 Monologues. This research is to reveal how the style of comparison is in the text. Manuscripts analyzed are only those with the theme of cruelty. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The approach used is an analytical approach. The data of this research is a comparative style of language and the data source is a text of 100 monologues. The research was conducted using data collection techniques, data analysis, and data verification. The results of the study show that there are (1) personification styles that summarize the subject being compared as if it is human in terms of actions, feelings, and other human traits. (2) the style of metaphor encapsulates the aspects put forward, namely the first point is directly connected to the second point. (3) the figurative language of parables has an aspect expressed by an explicit comparison, namely that direct similarity expresses a comparison of something like something else, namely like, like. So it can be concluded that the style of language found in Putu Wijaya's 100 Monologues tends to be personification which describes inanimate objects as if they were alive, then metaphor, namely the style of language that expresses analogical comparisons, and the style of language of equality, namely comparing something that is explicit. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested for other researchers to be able to conduct studies other than comparative language style for 100 Monologue manuscripts, because comparative language style is only one element of all parts of the story contained in the manuscript as the object of research. Therefore, it is possible to carry out several other studies to reveal the style of language conveyed in Putu Wijaya's 100 Monologues.   Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan gaya bahasa perbandingan yang terdapat dalam naskah 100 Monolog karya Putu Wijaya. Penelian ini untuk mengungkap bagaimana gaya bahasa perbandingan di dalam naskah tersebut. Naskah yang dianalisis hanya yang bertemakan kekejaman. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan analitis. Data penelitian ini adalah gaya bahasa perbandingan dan sumber datanya adalah naskah 100 monolog.  Penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik pengumpulan data, analisis data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat (1) gaya bahasa personifikasi merangkum pokok yang dibandingkan itu seolah-olah berwujud manusia baik dalam tindakan, perasaan, dan perwatakan manusia lainnya. (2) gaya bahasa metafora merangkum aspek yang dikemukakan ialah pokok pertama langsung dihubungkan dengan pokok kedua. (3) gaya bahasa perumpamaan memiliki aspek yang dikemukakan oleh perbandingan yang bersifat eksplisit ialah bahwa kesamaan langsung menyatakan perbandingan sesuatu yang sama dengan hal yang lain yaitu seperti, bagai. Jadi dapat disimpulkan gaya bahasa yang ditemukan dalam naskah 100 Monolog karya Putu Wijaya cenderung ke personifikasi yang menggambarkan benda mati seolah-olah hidup, kemudian metafora yaitu gaya bahasa yang mengungkapkan perbandiangan analogis, dan gaya bahasa persamaan yaitu membandingkan sesuatu yang bersifat eksplisit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut disarankan bagi peneliti lain agar dapat melakukan kajian selain gaya bahasa perbandingan untuk naskah 100 Monolog, karena gaya bahasa perbandingan hanya salah satu unsur dari seluruh bagian cerita yang terdapat pada naskah sebagai objek dari penelitian. Oleh sebab itu, beberapa penelitian lain sangat memungkinkan diadakannya untuk mengungkapkan gaya bahasa yang disampaikan dalam naskah 100 Monolog karya Putu Wijaya.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and describe Dian Purnomo's authorship style in the novel Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam  (PMBH) based on symbols of sexual violence against women. The use of diction, sentence style, and imagery is examined using stylistic analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are three stylistic forms, namely diction, sentence style, and imagery. Based on the results of this study, it is stated that Dian Purnomo's authorship style in the PMBH novel is in the style of Proletarian Fiction (Social Protest Fiction). Dian Purnomo, through this novel, reveals the reality that is happening in the Sumba community regarding the Marriage Catch tradition. In this tradition, many women are victims of sexual violence and hatred. Dian Purnomo prohibits protests customary rules and rulers.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to improve literary analysis activities and skills using a project-based learning model in the Indonesian Literature study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Jambi University. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles in the Oral Literature Study course. In the first cycle, two meetings were held and the second cycle was held three meetings. Each cycle is carried out in the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data were analyzed in accordance with the predetermined assessment rubric. In the first cycle, the students' activity scores increased, 80% of which reached the good category score and 20% reached the very good category score compared to the activity scores obtained in the pre-cycle. As for the value of the results of literary analysis in cycle I, it has not yet reached the target, namely not exceeding 50% of students getting good and very good category scores. In cycle II, the value of activity and the results of literary analysis experienced a significant increase, namely 100% of students getting very good category scores for activity scores and 80% of students getting good scores and 20% getting very good scores for the results of literary analysis. Based on these values, it can be said that the application of the Project Based Learning learning model in the Oral Literature Study course to improve activities and oral literature analysis skills is appropriate and effective to be applied. Abstract

Public and private elementary schools in Jambi city have not implemented children's literature-based teaching materials for character education. Character education has so far only relied on learning Religious Education. Therefore, elementary school teachers need to be given knowledge about children's literature, moral values in children's literature, and how to make teaching materials based on children's literature, as well as how to apply these teaching materials at school so that they can be understood and applied by elementary school students in their daily lives. The method used in this service activity is socialization and training in making teaching materials based on children's literature. The results obtained from this service activity were 74 teachers who participated in socialization activities and 46 teachers participated in training activities. All teachers who participated in the training were able to make teaching materials sourced from children's literature for character education in elementary schools as shown by the teaching materials they had made. The teaching materials that have been made by these teachers have been collected in the form of an ISBN book.

Abstract

: In the digital era, the existence of a website for a university study program is important. With a website that can be accessed anywhere and at any time, the public can find out information and everything related to the study program. The Jambi University Indonesian Literature Study Program website has been designed by the team with the page https://sastraindonesia.unja.ac.id. However, the website is not managed well so the information presented has not been updated. Apart from that, the layout of the site is also irregular, thereby reducing public interest in accessing the website. In fact, through the study program website you can disseminate information such as profiles, vision and mission, organizational structure, scholarships, student achievements, questionnaires, and news content and other information. Therefore, it is necessary to manage the Indonesian Literature Study Program website at Jambi University as a medium of information for the public. This website management activity begins with the stages of analyzing website needs, collecting website data, designing and filling content, and socializing the website to the public. The result of this service activity is website governance Jambi University's Indonesian Literature Study Program is getting better. This can be seen from the more organized appearance of the website, the latest information that is continuously updated, and the positive response from website users.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to enhance the activity and skills of pre-writers of fiction prose using a project-based learning model in the Indonesian Literature program at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Universitas Jambi. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle involves planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data are analyzed according to the assessment rubric. In Cycle I, there was an improvement in activity levels, with 87% of students achieving a good category and 13% achieving a very good category. The improvement in pre-writing scores was 60%, reaching a sufficient category for 40% and a good category for 40%. However, the analysis indicated that the target of exceeding 50% of pre-writing scores in the good category was not achieved in Cycle I, prompting the continuation to Cycle II. In Cycle II, both activity and pre-writing scores experienced significant improvement. Activity scores showed 33.3% of students in the good category and 86.7% in the very good category. Pre-writing scores increased to 33.3% in the good category and 66.7% in the very good category. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model in the Fiction Prose Writing course effectively enhances the activity and skills of pre-writers of fiction prose and is deemed suitable for application

Abstract

This article contains the results of training on using the Mendeley application conducted by Jambi University lecturers and students. This training needs to be carried out to help teachers master the use of the Mendeley application to cite scientific articles in nationally reputable journals. This paper aims to improve the writing of scientific articles for teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. The method used in the implementation of this service is participatory story action research (PAR). The participants in this training were teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. From the results of the implementation of activities, teachers can understand well about 1) basic material related to plagiarism; 2) material for using the Mendeley application; and 3) skilled at using the Mendeley application for citation of scientific articles in nationally reputable journals. The conclusion of this activity is that it has a positive impact in the form of mastering the use of Mendeley application citations to improve scientific article writing among teachers of SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi.

Abstract

Learning about literary appreciation in elementary schools is an important lesson to increase students' creativity. The problem currently faced is that students' lack of interest in writing literature makes students not creative and productive. The problem of students' lack of interest at SD Negeri 76/IX Mendalo Darat in writing literature means that students are unable to take part in various creative writing competitions. One way to overcome this problem is by holding a literary studio at SD Negeri 76 Mendalo Darat as an extracurricular activity. The guidance provided uses methods of socialization, teaching, training and mentoring students in literary appreciation activities. The results obtained from this service activity are that students are skilled in receptive literary appreciation, namely reading literary works and some students are skilled in writing literature, and some are skilled in performing literature, such as telling stories, reading poetry, and playing drama. Literary works written by students are collected in the form of children's poetry anthologies and collections of children's stories.ABSTRAKPembelajaran apresiasi sastra di sekolah dasar merupakan pembelajaran yang penting untuk meningkatkan kreatifitas siswa. Permasalahan yang dihadapi sekarang ini yaitu kurangnya minat siswa dalam menulis sastra membuat siswa tidak kreatif dan produktif. Masalah kurangnya minat siswa SD Negeri 76/IX Mendalo Darat dalam menulis sastra membuat siswa tidak bisa mengikuti berbagai lomba tulisan kreatif. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu dengan mengadakan pembinaan sanggar sastra di SD Negeri 76 Mendalo Darat sebagai kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Pembinaan yang diberikan menggunakan metode sosialisasi, pengajaran, pelatihan, dan pembimbingan siswa dalam kegiatan apresiasi sastra. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini ialah siswa terampil dalam apresiasi sastra yang bersifat reseptif yaitu membaca karya sastra dan sebagian siswa terampil dalam menulis sastra, dan sebagian lagi terampil dalam mementaskan sastra, seperti berdongeng, membaca puisi, dan bermain drama. Karya sastra yang telah ditulis oleh siswa dikumpulkan dalam bentuk buku antologi puisi anak dan kumpulan cerita anak.
