Abstract

In line with the current development of society, the need for electricity can be said to be a primary need that must be met to support community activities, both for economic purposes and to fulfill daily household needs. The research was conducted at one of the power generation companies. Based on the results of initial observations and interviews with workers at the company, it was explained that the potential danger of work accidents in the boiler machine area at the Steam-Electric Power Station was considered high. Dangers of work accidents that can occur in the boiler area include hot weather, noise, sparks, water vapor leaks, contact with hot steam pipes, high pressure, slipping, and falling from heights. The danger that has occurred in the boiler machine area is noise, noise often occurs because workers underestimate the use of earplugs or earmuffs because they feel they often work without using earplugs. This research aims to analyze the potential dangers of work accidents in the PLTU boiler machine area in the company. Analysis of potential accident hazards was carried out using the HAZOP method. It is hoped that the HAZOP method will enable researchers to know the dangers and how to overcome them to minimize the risk of occupational hazards. This method has the advantage that work using this method will run systematically, the results obtained are more detailed compared to other methods and can be used in various systems. The results of the research show that the risk of danger in power generation companies amounts to 12 potential work accident hazards. Potential dangers of work accidents consist of deafness (25%), burns (17%), slips (9%), shortness of breath (9%), dehydration (8%), electric shock (8%), pinching (8%), fire (8%), and corrosion (8%).

Abstract

In the shipyard industry, the results of work often differ from the initial plans, including in the scheduling of ship repairs. Therefore, a method is needed to optimize the planning of shipyard projects. One approach used is network planning or network diagrams, which serve to determine the critical path (CP) of the tasks being performed. This method facilitates work network planning and identifies tasks that are part of the critical path. This study aims to identify the critical path of the broken-down tasks and to calculate labor acceleration, resource allocation, and the required costs. This method is applied to optimize the ship repair schedule at PT X for Project Y using the Critical Path Method (CPM) supported by Microsoft Project. In the bottop hull area, the initial work duration of 7 days was reduced to 5 days after crashing. The productivity calculation focuses on the bottop hull area, as this task has a clear and fixed unit of measurement, namely m². The research results show that the productivity index before crashing was 18 m²/person per day, with a productivity cost of Rp. 4,166.67/m²/person. After adding 2 workers, the distribution of labor became more even, although the productivity per person decreased to 15.12 m²/person per day. The productivity cost also increased to Rp. 4,960.31/m²/person.

Abstract

CV. Faisyal Putra Mandiri located at Kandangan Rejo Lebar street No.11 Surabaya City, is one of the manufacturing industry companies engaged in car body production. In their work activities there are still workers who do not apply ergonomic work postures while working. Unergonomic work positions can cause some parts of the body to not be in their normal position so that they are very vulnerable to musculoskeletal disorders. To overcome these problems, work posture improvement is carried out. Based on the results of the study, it was found that after simulating the use of tools in the metal cutting process, namely the Hydraulic Scissor Lift Table, it can reduce the risk of worker injury through a final REBA value of 7 with a moderate risk level to a final REBA value of 2 with a low risk level. Then in the welding process can reduce the risk of worker injury through the final REBA value of 9 with a high risk level to the final REBA value of 3 with a low risk level. In addition, it is recommended to use a chair as a tool, which is proven through work simulation to reduce the risk of injury. In metal cutting, the REBA value drops from 7 with a moderate risk level to 3 with a low risk level, and in welding, from 9 with a high risk level to 3 with a low risk level.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is an international company operating in the energy sector, especially oil and gas, with a focus on fabrication and construction activities for large-scale projects. One of the main production processes that is very influential is welding. To ensure welding quality, PT. XYZ uses the Non-Destructive Testing – Ultrasonic Testing (NDT-UT) method. However, during the inspection process, problems are often found in the form of rejects due to defects that do not meet welding quality standards. Some types of defects detected include LOF (Lack of Fusion), LOP (Lack of Penetration), and ESI (Excessive Spatter Inclusion). This research aims to determine the percentage of the most dominant welding defects, identify factors that cause defects, and provide recommendations for improvements to improve welding quality. The method used is Statistical Quality Control (SQC) with the help of tools such as check sheets, histograms, Pareto diagrams, scatter diagrams, control charts and fishbone diagrams. Based on the data collected, a LOF defect of 5,434 mm was found, an ESI defect of 1,990 mm, and an LOP defect of 1,030 mm. SQC analysis shows that the dominant defect is LOF with a percentage of 64%. The main causal factors come from methods, humans, machines and materials. Therefore, companies need to make improvements and developments to reduce product defects so that they can improve welding quality.
