Abstract

This study aims to analyze Islamic banking financial performance in Indonesia using the Maqasid Syariah Index method. A behavioral operationalization approach method is used to determine the maqasid sharia index performance indicators on Islamic banks which are then used for testing on samples from the Bank Nagari Sharia Business Unit. Banks are evaluated and at three levels based on their rank: 1) performance ratio, 2) performance indicators and 3) overall Maqasid Index. For the measurement of the Maqasid Islamic index this study uses a quantitative method The Simple Additive Weighting or weighted sum method. The results of the study indicate that Islamic banks have a performance of 11.52%.

Abstract

Micro credit is a loan that is intended for the poor to continue their business. Since 2008, the Government has distributed micro credit assistance through the Rural Agribusiness DevelopmentProgram (PUAP) which is managed by the Agribusiness Microfinance Institution (LKMA). In theimplementation of this credit, there are still many bad loans. This study aims to determine the effectof the application of sanctions on the repayment of bad credit at the Agribusiness MicrofinanceInstitution (LKMA) in Pesisir Selatan Regency. The object of this research is the LKMA in PesisirSelatan Regency which was founded in 2011 - 2015 as many as 70 LKMA. Evaluation of the effect ofsanctions on LKMA credit returns is carried out using the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) methodbased on factors that significantly influence the LKMA's decision to apply sanctions. The factors thatsignificantly influence LKMA decisions are obtained from the results of logistic regression.Furthermore, the matching is done using the Nearest Neighbor Matching (NNM) method. Outcomethat is compared is the amount of arrears and length of arrears of credit. The results show thatsanctions have a positive effect on LKMA credit repayments as seen from the side of the length ofarrears because the longer the farmers are in arrears, the greater the sanctions imposed, so thatfarmers will seek to repay credit in a faster time. Meanwhile, in terms of the amount of arrears, sanctions do not have a significant effect on the repayment of bad debts

Abstract

The study aims to analyze regional financial independence, regional financial capabilities, and their impact on economic growth in Riau province. To analyze it, it uses the calculation of the ratio of financial independence and the ratio of regional financial capabilities and uses the degree of fiscal decentralization, while the economic growth rate uses the PDRB of Riau province. Data was used in 2017-2022 with data processing using the Stata 15 application. From the analysis, the level of financial independence in Riau province for 2017-2019 is very low with an instructive relationship pattern, meaning that the central government is dominant in financial independence when compared to the role of the Riau provincial government itself. In 2020-2022, the ratio of financial independence of the Riau province is low with a pattern of constructive relations, meaning that the role of the central government is slightly reduced and the role of the central government, in this case, is only a consulting provider related to the implementation of regional autonomy in the Riau region. The ratio of regional financial capabilities in Riau province is still in the sufficient category for 2017-2018 and 2021-2022 and the category is less for 2019-2020, meaning that the role of the central government is still needed but not as large as the previous year. Partially only the financial capabilities of the regions affect economic growth but simultaneously both free variables have no effect. This means that the higher the regional financial capability, the more economic growth in Riau. If regional financial independence is higher, it will not have an impact on increasing economic growth in Riau.

Abstract

The demand forIslamic financing from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is important to be analyzed since they have a significant role in employment and the source of living for community. Quantitatively, the income and profits of MSMEs have a big impact on the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) where the MSMEs are located. They can be one of the drivers of the real sector of economy to improve the welfare of the community. The Islamic financing scheme is an alternative to strengthen the MSMEs and this is in line with the culture of the people of West Sumatra. This study aims to analyze the factors related to the demand for Islamic banking financing in helping micro, small and medium businesses to finance the capital expenditure in West Sumatra. The data used in this research is directly collected from the field. About 100 samples are chosen from 3,105 MSMEs that have already accessed capital financing from various Islamic Bank in West Sumatra. A crosstab analysis is used and tested using the Chi-Square method based on probability. One important finding of this study is that the bigger the size of capital financing, the bigger the probability of MSMEs to increase the income.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between government debt and social welfare in Indonesia in 1980-2019. The data used in this research is secondary data using time series data. The analysis used is the Error Correction Model (ECM). The findings result from the first model show that in the short-run, additional debt-to-GDP was not significant to the poverty level and GDP per capita. Meanwhile, the long-run, additional debt-to-GDP is significant to the poverty level and GDP per capita. The results also find that in the long run additional debt-to-GDP is positively correlated with poverty levels in Indonesia, meaning that additional debt-to-GDP increases the poverty rate in Indonesia. For GDP per capita, additional debt-to-GDP has a negative correlation. The inflation, tax-to-GDP, and GDP are not significant to the poverty rate in the short-run. Meanwhile, the long run, the additional debt-to-GDP ratio and GDP variable is significant to the poverty rate, and has a positif and negative correlation. The findings from second model also indicate that population and inflation are significant and positively correlated with the poverty level, but tax-to-GDP ratio is not significant on GDP per capita in the short-run. Meanwhile, the long run, the population and tax-to-GDP are significant to GDP per capita. Total population has a positive correlation, while tax-to-GDP ratio has a negative correlation.

Abstract

Indonesia’s provincial population projection in 2010–2035 shows West Sumatra is one of the provinces that may not experience a demographic bonus or it could be delayed to the next period. This study aims to analyze the determinants of sectoral employment absorption and its effect on economic growth with a demometric approach. The result shows that the absorption of labor in West Sumatra is influenced by economic variables (Gross Regional Domestic Product) and demographic variables (Human Development Index). As a consequence, the productivity and the quality of human resources become important factors to achieve demographic bonus in West Sumatra.

The goal of the study is to analyze the pattern and the change of urban household energy consumption and their determinant factors in Indonesia period of 2008 and 2011 using SUSENAS data of household budget survey. The concept of energy ladder and fuel stacking (multi fuel) are used to make a model of household energy consumption. The result of study shows that total energy consumption was increase in the period of 2008 and 2011. Coefficient of income elasticity toward both of modern and traditional energy consumption are positive, it means that there is rising consumption of energy along with the rising income. Household income is the main determinant factor of energy used by household besides other non-economic factors.
