Abstract

Syringepump and Infuspump function to provide drugs or fluids that are carried out directly and continuously for a certain period of time through a blood vessel. Often encountered problems of blockage or occlusion in the use of infusion pumps and syringe pumps. Occlusion in the infusion device causes the incoming drug fluid to not flow constantly. Occlusion limit set at 20 Psi according to ECRI. To ensure this, proper calibration is required at least once a year. The purpose of this research is to analyze the accuracy of the pressure sensor on the Occlusion measurement on the Infusion Device Analyzer 2 Channel showing TFT. This study has 2 channels so that it can calibrate 2 tools simultaneously. The design of this module uses a Water Pressure Sensor to measure occlusion and a solenoid valve for pressure simulation. When the sensor is depressed, the sensor detects the pressure and is processed by the Arduino. The pressure results are then displayed on a 7-inch TFT LCD in the form of graphs and numbers in real time and stored on the SD card.

Abstract

The PIF and PEF parameters on the ventilator need to be taken into account to monitor the condition of patients undergoing mechanical ventilation. Both of these parameters need to undergo periodic testing to ensure that the ventilator can provide accurate information to its users. The testing of these two parameters can be conducted using a flow analyzer. The objective of this research is to develop a flow analyzer for PIF and PEF parameters using the AFM3000 flow sensor, with the results displayed on an LCD TFT screen in the form of graphs and numerical values. The research measurements were conducted in Volume Control (VC) mode with VT settings of 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 mL. Data collection was done using two methods to obtain two different types of data. From the first data collection, the largest errors in reading PIF and PEF values were found to be 3.49% and 2.99%, respectively. The second data collection resulted in a sensor's change in reading constant flow of ±0.1 LPM. Overall, the research findings indicate that the AFM3000 sensor has good accuracy and stability. Additionally, the AFM3000 flow sensor has good sensitivity and very short delay, making it suitable for real-time graph display in the module.

Abstract

A wheelchair is the primary means of mobility for individuals unable to walk. This study aimed to develop a safety system for electric wheelchairs to help people with tetraplegia avoid obstructions. The main contribution of this study is the implementation of a sensor with a wider reflection angle and the adjustment of the wheelchair's speed based on the distance to the obstruction, eliminating the need for manual speed selection. The safety system utilizes LV-MaxSonarEZ1 ultrasonic sensors, which function as reflectance distance readers placed on the front, rear, right, and left sides of the wheelchair. The output from the sensors is input into an Arduino, which functions as the controller. The safety system employs adaptive speed control based on distance through a fuzzy logic controller. The wheelchair was tested with obstruction distances of 1, 1.8, 3, and 10 m. The wheelchair could stop at a distance of 34.06 cm for forward movement and 45.16 cm for reverse movement. The results of this study successfully demonstrate the creation of a safety system on a wheelchair using ultrasonic sensors to avoid obstructions and detect areas, with more adaptive speed control based on distance through a fuzzy logic controller.

Abstract

Currently, the percentage of the elderly population in Indonesia has increased much higher than in previous years. As people age, their immune system decreases and they are more likely to be affected by diabetes mellitus. In Indonesia, diabetes mellitus currently ranks as the third most prevalent cause of mortality following cardiovascular disease. Diabetes mellitus is closely associated with blood glucose levels. People with high blood glucose levels have a tendency to be overweight or obese. The increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus in the elderly, it will have an impact on hampering the development of the country. To improve the quality and life expectancy in the elderly, preventive measures are needed to increase excess glucose levels in the body. From these problems, community service activities were conducted in the form of health checks on nutritional status and blood glucose in elderly participants. The activity took place at the Abiyoso Integrated service post Polkesbaya on May 3, 2023. From the results of the examination, it was found that most of the elderly participants who participated in the activity had excess nutritional status but had normal blood glucose in the body. From this it can be concluded that high blood glucose levels in the body are not always determined by a person's nutritional status, but also lifestyle, and diet.

Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases are a significant global health concern, often requiring timely and accurate monitoring for effective management. Traditional heart monitoring devices face limitations, such as inadequate real-time data and suboptimal accuracy. This study aims to enhance the detection of carotid pulse signals by comparing the performance of two sensor types: piezoelectric sensors and SEN0203 sensors. The methodology involved designing a cardiac monitoring device that integrates both sensors to simultaneously capture carotid pulse and phonocardiograph (PCG) signals. Data collection was conducted on 10 respondents, where both sensors were applied alternately to the carotid artery, and the signals were analyzed using an oscilloscope. The results demonstrated that the piezoelectric sensor outperformed the SEN0203 sensor in terms of signal clarity and amplitude. Specifically, the average amplitude of the carotid pulse recorded by the piezoelectric sensor was 5.3 mV, while the SEN0203 sensor recorded an average amplitudeof only 3.2 mV. Additionally, the correlation analysis revealed a strong relationship between the carotid pulse and PCGsignals, with a correlation coefficient of 0.87, indicating a high degree of reliability in the measurements obtained fromthe piezoelectric sensor. In conclusion, the findings of this study suggest that piezoelectric sensors are more effectivefor monitoring carotid pulse signals compared to SEN0203 sensors, providing clearer and more reliable data. Thisadvancement in sensor technology has the potential to improve early detection of cardiovascular abnormalities, leadingto better patient outcomes. Future research should focus on the development of portable monitoring devices thatincorporate these sensors, facilitating widespread clinical application and enhancing the overall quality of cardiovascularcare.
