Abstract

The aim of this study: (1) describe the type of illocutionary speech acts used the main character in the comic discourse Three Seniors Streets Benny Rachmadi Singapore to work, (2) describe the function of illocutionary speech acts used the main character in the comic discourse Seniors Three Roads to the work of Benny Singapore Rachmadi, (3) describe the dominant illocutionary speech acts used the main character in the comic discourse Three Seniors Streets Benny Rachmadi Singapore to work. This research is a qualitative research method in this study deskriptif.Data main character in the form of narrative discourse Seniors comic Three Roads to Singapore Work Rachmadiyang Benny containing illocutionary speech acts. Data collection techniques used in this study is the technique of note, which is a technique used by researchers dealing with the use of written language. Based on the research results, it was concluded the following. First, the type of illocutionary speech acts used the main character in the comic discourse Seniors Three Roads to the work of Benny Rachmadi Singapore found 28 utterances. Representative speech acts found 13 utterances, 11 utterances directive, and the declaration of 4 utterances. Second, the function of illocutionary speech acts used the main character in the comic discourse Seniors Three Roads to Singapore by Benny Rachmadi found 12 utterances. Competitive speech act functions found 3 tuturanmenyenangkan 3 utterances, working 3 utterances, and found 3 contradicts speech. Third, the type of illocutionary speech acts used the dominant discourse of the main character in the comic Three Seniors Streets to Singapore by Benny Rachmadi is representative speech act, illocutionary speech acts and functions of the dominant discourse used the main character in the comic Three Seniors Streets to Singapore by Benny Rachmadi is no dominant speech acts.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe the article writing skills of students at the Language and Literature Education Study Program at Ekasakti University in Padang before and after the implementation of the PjBL (Project Based Learning) model assisted by audio visual media and to analyze the effect of implementing the PjBL (Project Based Learning) model assisted by audio visual media on article writing skills Students of the Language and Literature Education Study Program, Ekasakti University, Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The results of this research are that students' article writing skills before applying the PjBL model assisted by audio-visual media obtained an average of 65.00, students' article writing skills after applying the PjBL model assisted by audio-visual media, the highest score obtained was an average of 78.58, applying the PjBL model with the help of audio visual media, after carrying out the t-test, it was obtained that tcount > ttable or 3.27 > 1.70. So H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that the application of the PjBL model assisted by audio-visual media is feasible to apply to the article writing skills of students at the Language and Literature Education Study Program, Ekasakti University, Padang.

Abstract

Language politeness is an attitude that must be maintained in communication activities, both speakers and speech partners, in order to produce polite speech, so that between speakers and speech partners can establish good communication. Politeness is a rule of behavior that is determined and agreed upon by a certain society so that politeness is also a prerequisite agreed upon by social behavior. This research aims to describe the form of politeness of the teacher's speech in class XI SMA 8 Padang in the teaching and learning process. Politeness is a form of cultural politeness. The type of research conducted is qualitative research. Research that produces data descriptions in the form of spoken words from the objects observed. To achieve the objectives in accordance with the problem under study, descriptive method is used. Descriptive method is a method that is done by collecting, compiling and analyzing and interpreting data. The data obtained is described to answer research questions. Based on the results of data analysis that has been carried out by researchers, it can be concluded that the form of language politeness of class XI teachers of SMA 8 Padang, there is a more dominant one can be seen below. (1) imperative politeness mode 40 utterances, (2) interrogative politeness mode 37 utterances, (3) declarative politeness mode 33 utterances.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Masalah yang melatar belakangi penelitian ini adalah sebuah cerita novel Dompet Ayah, Sepatu Ibu Karya J.S. Khairen, memiliki alur yang sangat menarik. Alur cerita dalam novel Dompet Ayah, Sepatu Ibu Karya J.S. Khairen akan membawa pembaca pada permasalahan yang ada pada kehidupan sehari-hari dalam masyarakat. Alur tidak akan di mengerti tanpa adanya pemahaman terhadap peristiwa yang mempertautkan alur, hubungan kausalitas, dan pengaruhnya. Oleh karena itu, tahapan-tahapan alur harus di identifikasi dan di interpretasi melalui suatu penelitian ilmiah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan jenis alur dan tahap-tahap alur novel Dompet Ayah, Sepatu Ibu karya J.S Khairen. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Instrumen utama penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan instrumen tambahan adalah tabel data. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumen dan teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menyimpulkan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis alur novel Dompet Ayah, Sepatu Ibu karya J.S. Khairen adalah alur lurus. Alur lurus adalah alur yang diceritakan secara runtut mulai dari tahap awal, tengah, dan akhir yaitu mulai dari tahap eksposisi, tahap komplikasi, tahap klimaks, tahap resolusi, dan tahap penyelesaian cerita. Alur lurus dinyatakan dalam bentuk cerita yang diawali dengan (1) tahap eksposisi yaitu tahap pengenalan tokoh Zenna, Abak, Ummak, Asrul, Isral, Umi, Bapak, Adik-Adik Zenna (2) Tahap komplikasi yakni tahap mulainya muncul masalah-masalah yang akan terjadi pada tokoh. (3) Tahap Resolusi dalam cerita yaitutentang besarnya biaya semester yang harus di bayar oleh Zenna. Dengan brosur yang berikan oleh petugas tersebut, Zenna melihat besarnya uang yang harus di bayar oleh Zenna. Serta bebera permasalahan dan cobaan yang dialami oleh tokoh Zenna dan Asrul untuk mencapai cita-citanya. (4) Tahap Klimaks yaitu Zenna dan Asrul harus mengalami pertengkaran tentang masalah keuangan yang menimpa keluarga kecilnya, Serta, ketika Asrul dan Zenna sudah menikah dan memiliki seorang anak pada saat itu anaknya menangis meminta ASI sedangkan Zenna sudah satu hari penuh tidak makan.(5) Penyelesaian adalah Zenna yang telah menyekolahkan kelima adiknya sampai ke jenjang sarjana, sedangkan Asrul telah memberangkatkan Umi naik Haji. Dan Joven anaknya telah menyelesaikan disertasinya di Universitas Indonesia dan Joven juga telah menjadi seorang penulis novel yang sangat terkenal dikalangan remaja.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of Minangkabau language interference with Indonesian and the factors that influence the occurrence of interference by fifth grade students at SD Negeri 04 Lubuk Alung. The data in this research is the interference of Minangkabau language with Indonesian. Data collection uses note-taking and recording techniques. By using this technique, the author can collect data that is appropriate to the research. The results of this research show that there are still many students and teachers who make deviations when speaking to their friends or teachers, which is called phonological interference. Interferences found in class V include replacing the consonant phoneme /k/ with /t/, replacing the vowel phoneme /o/ with /a/ or /a/ with /e/ and eliminating the vowel phoneme, namely /a/. Therefore, this research was conducted to find out how many language deviations occur in Indonesian during classroom learning.

Abstract

Swearing expressions are a form of language used by society to express negative anger, annoyance or displeasure towards the person or party being addressed. Even though swearing is a negative use of language, many people find it difficult to get rid of the habit of using swear words. The aim of this research is to describe and explain the forms and types of swearing expression in Minangkabau language for public transportation drivers in the city of Padang. This research is a descriptive qualitative research describing the forms and types of swear nouns in Minangkabau language for public transportation drivers in Padang City. The instruments in this research were writing and recording equipment. The data in this research are words in the Minangkabau language in the form of expressions containing elements of swearing nouns used by public transportation drivers in the city of Padang. Data were collected using note-taking and recording techniques. The data source in this research is the source of verbal abuse from public transportation drivers at the Pasar Raya Terminal in Padang City. The results of this research show that in terms of nouns in swearing expressions, many public transportation drivers in Padang City still use swearing nouns that are not appropriate to their speech partners and there are still many public transportation drivers who speak using swearing expressions. The form of swear noun that is often used is a swear noun in the form of the word kanciang. The type of swear noun that is often used is a swear noun using the animal name dog.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to raise students’ awareness and pride in using proper and correct Indonesian amid the challenges of globalization and popular culture. The activity was carried out in three stages: planning, implementation (material delivery and simulation), and evaluation. The results show that students often mix Indonesian with foreign languages and slang. This outreach successfully motivated students to use Indonesian more actively in appropriate communication contexts. The activity is expected to promote the preservation of the Indonesian language as a national identity.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia, including at SMP 05 Sutera Pesisir Selatan, has summarized the curriculum applied at all levels of education, including the 2013 Curriculum. Each lesson aims to develop students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Affective, cognitive and psychomotor assessments are carried out through observation and analysis of the learning process, especially in learning persuasive speech texts. However, there are obstacles in the learning process, including students' difficulties in writing speech texts and the lack of variety and flexibility in the teaching methods used by teachers. The learning process only involves assessments at the beginning and end of learning, while the lack of variety and flexibility in teaching methods can hinder student creativity and independence. This research aims to analyze the process of learning persuasive speech texts at SMP 05 Sutera Pesisir Selatan using the 4C approach (Critical Thinking, Creative Communication, and Collaboration). Qualitative research methods were used with research instruments in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that learning planning includes providing learning tools and the necessary hardware and software. The learning process consists of three stages: opening, core, and closing, which involve activities such as attendance, introduction to material, and group discussions. Evaluation of the learning process involves authentic assessment in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains, with assessment techniques such as written tests, observations and assignments.

Abstract

Salah satu cabang ilmu linguistik yaitu pragmatik. Pragmatik mengkaji penggunaan bahasa dalam berkomunikasi untuk mengetahui maksud yang disampaikan oleh seseorang kepada orang lain, sehingga menghasilkan informasi yang jelas sesuai dengan konteks ujaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk, makna, dan fungsi tindak tutur ilokusi pada pedagang kue cubit di Gor Haji Agus Salim Padang. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat dan menambah pengetahuan dalam kajian pragmatik khususnya tindak tutur ilokusi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, simak, rekam, dan catat. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap karena peneliti hanya berperan sebagai pengamat. Hasil temuan peneliti yaitu terdapat 132 data. Sebanyak 49 data asertif menyenangkan, 4 data asertif membual, 13 data asertif mengklaim, 1 data direktif memohon, 1 data direktif menasehati, 4 data direktif merekomendasikan, 2 data ekspresif berterima kasih, 1 data ekspresif selamat, 1 data ekspresif memita maaf, 55 data komisif menawarkan, dan 1 data komisif bersumpah. Sebanyak 3 data fungsi kompetitif, 66 data fungsi menyenangkan, 64 data fungsi bekerja sama. Makna tindak tutur ilokusi pada penelitian ini dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan konteks yang tepat.
