Abstract

Padatan titanium silikat(TS1) yang mempunyai kandungan titanium berbeda telah disintesis dengan teknik hidrotermal. Struktur padatan dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan teknik difraksi sinar X, spektroskopi inframerah dan Uvvis DR. Gugus hidroksil permukaan diamati dengan teknik spektroskopi inframerah setelah sampel dievakuasi pada suhu 400oC. Hasil menunjukkan adanya kaitan yang erat antara konsentrasi titanium tetrahedral,pergeseran puncak hidroksil permukaan dan jumlah titanol.

Abstract

Titanium oxide (TiO2) was impregnated on the surface of titanosilicate-1 (TiO2/TS-1) and used as catalyst for hydroxylation of phenol with hydrogen peroxide. Calcination was conducted at various temperatures (400, 500, 600 and 700°C)in order to observe the effect on the structure and physicochemical properties towards catalytic activity for producing hydroquinone. The structure and physicochemical properties of the TiO2/TS-1 catalyst were characterized by several techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption, pyridine adsorption and hydrophilic measurement. The results show that by increasing the calcination temperature,the surface acidity of the catalyst was also increased.TheTiO2/TS-1 catalyst calcined at 500°Cproved to be optimal for hydroquinone production, in which the anatase-rutile phase may be present dispersed on the MFI framework.

Abstract

The problem of attitude in traffic is a common phenomenon in big cities in Indonesia. The variety of vehicle traffic and the increasing number of vehicles that are faster than the increase in road infrastructure have resulted in various traffic problems such as congestion and traffic accidents. Several traffic crime problems that commonly occur in Indonesia are caused by traffic driving violations without paying attention to traffic signs, causing traffic accidents or disturbing fellow road users. UU no. 22 of 2009 regulates matters regarding traffic crimes as regulated in Chapter XX. The settlement of traffic accident criminal cases by the police through the Restorative justice system is a guideline in the peace process outside the judiciary by using mediation in achieving justice. The obstacle in implementing the concept of restorative justice faced by the police is the absence of consent from the victim or family to forgive the perpetrator.

Abstract

Science teachers are the main actors in developing students’ action competence for sustainability (ACS) in the future. Considering that the majority of teachers and prospective science teachers have a spiritual foundation, the spiritual aspect should be an integral part of the ACS. Therefore, an instrument is needed that can measure the level of ACS that includes aspects of spirituality in it. This study was designed to develop and validate an instrument for prospective science teacher in in the form of action competence for sustainability instrument base on spirituality (ACSIS). The instrument was developed based on previous research findings and focus group discussions involving eleven experts. The factors and internal consistency were examined by involving 634 prospective science teachers in Indonesia. Validity and reliability were tested using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). This study’s results showed 21 questionnaire items (four dimensions) with acceptable internal validity and consistency. The ACSIS is recommended to measure the level of ACS for prospective science teachers, specifically in Indonesia, and countries that have the same characteristics of educational problems and potential.

Abstract

E-learning yang dipadukan dengan pembelajaran konvensional merupakan definisi blended learning dan merupakan salah satu metode pembelajaran yang sering diterapkan pasca pandemi Covid-19. Blended learning disertai dengan media pembelajaran yang menarik akan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Kegiatan layanan ini bertujuan untuk menarik guru agar terampil dalam menggunakan Quizizz dan Mentimeter, platform survei online dan presentasi interaktif. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan respon positif dari peserta terhadap media pembelajaran yang direkomendasikan. Sebanyak 63% peserta menyatakan pelatihan ini sangat bermanfaat, 37% peserta menyatakan metode blended learning sangat efektif dilaksanakan pasca pandemi Covid-19, dan 56% peserta menyatakan penggunaan aplikasi media pembelajaran online Quizizz dan Mentimeter membantu dalam pelaksanaan blended learning.

Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, seni, dan budaya sangat penting untuk mendorong kemajuan suatu negara. Peningkatan peringkat publikasi ilmiah Indonesia, sebagaimana tercatat dalam Scimago Journal & Country Rank tahun 2023, menunjukkan kemajuan signifikan dalam kontribusi penelitian dengan menempati urutan 19 dunia. Salah satu upaya Pemerintah Indonesia dalam meningkatkan penelitian Indonesia yakni dengan menyelenggarakan ajang Olimpiade Penelitian Siswa Indonesia (OPSI). Olimpiade ini bertujuan mewujudkan visi Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi 2020-2024 untuk menciptakan generasi Pelajar Pancasila yang unggul dalam berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan berakhlak mulia. Namun, MAN 2 Kota Malang sebagai salah satu peserta OPSI menghadapi kendala terbatasnya fasilitas laboratorium dan tenaga ahli yang kompeten di bidang bioteknologi dan material maju. Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) melalui UPT Laboratorium Terpadu menawarkan solusi dengan menyediakan fasilitas laboratorium canggih serta tenaga ahli sebagai pembimbing siswa MAN 2 Kota Malang dalam pengembangan riset. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di MAN 2 Kota Malang melalui penyediaan sarana riset yang memadai, pembimbingan riset, serta peningkatan kapasitas guru dalam pengolahan data dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan minat siswa dalam sains, pemahaman konsep riset modern seperti SC-XRD, serta kolaborasi yang berkelanjutan antara UM dan MAN 2 Kota Malang dalam pengembangan pendidikan berbasis riset. Abstract

Dalam era modern, sains memiliki peran penting dalam inovasi dan menyelesaikan masalah global. Namun, minat siswa terhadap sains mengalami penurunan, terutama di MAN 2 Malang, akibat kurangnya fasilitas laboratorium dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang kurang relevan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan Sains Camp di MAN 2 Kota Malang bekerja sama dengan Universitas Negeri Malang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan keterampilan praktis siswa dalam bidang sains melalui pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kolaboratif. Kegiatan ini dirancang sebagai bentuk kemitraan pendidikan untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara teori yang diajarkan di sekolah dengan aplikasi praktis di lapangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini mencakup eksperimen langsung, diskusi kelompok, dan pemecahan masalah secara kolaboratif, yang memungkinkan siswa untuk lebih memahami konsep-konsep sains melalui pengalaman langsung. Pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi untuk mengevaluasi dampak dari kegiatan Sains Camp terhadap minat dan keterampilan praktis siswa. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam minat siswa terhadap pelajaran sains, terutama dalam hal pengembangan keterampilan laboratorium dan kemampuan analitis. Selain itu, kemitraan antara MAN 2 Malang dan Universitas Negeri Malang memberikan dampak positif terhadap mutu pembelajaran di kedua institusi, menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan relevan dengan tantangan sains di dunia nyata. Abstract

This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of calcium sulfate hemihydrate (CSH)-supported titania (TiO2) catalysts and their application in the environmentally friendly oxidation of styrene to benzaldehyde using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as the oxidant. The study explores the catalyst's structure-activity relationship, emphasizing the importance of mesoporous materials for enhanced catalytic performance. The CSH-Titania catalysts were synthesized using fish bone-derived CSH as a support, which aligns with green chemistry principles. Characterization techniques such as Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis confirmed the successful impregnation of titania and its catalytic efficiency. The catalysts exhibited high selectivity for benzaldehyde, achieving up to 49.45% conversion of styrene, with benzaldehyde as being the main product. The research highlights that the catalyst’s performance decreased after calcination due to a reduced surface area and pore volume, yet it maintained recyclability across three cycles with minimal  lose  in selectivity loss. Overall, this study introduces a cost-effective and sustainable approach to styrene oxidation, demonstrating the potential for industrial application in producing high-value chemicals with minimal environmental impact. Abstract

This study aims to explore the development of understanding of the concepts of pH, acid-base titration, and buffer solutions among 11th-grade students and 2nd- and 4th-semester university students in chemistry education. It employs a cross-sectional design using open-ended questions and interview guidelines to collect data from 153 11th-grade students, 30 second-semester university students, and 40 fourth-semester university students. The open-ended questionnaire consists of 9 items (2 questions on the pH of solutions, 4 questions on acid-base indicators and titration, and 3 questions on buffer solutions and salt hydrolysis) on a continuous scale, with an Aiken's kappa validity of 0.61 (substantial agreement) and a Cronbach's Alpha reliability (KR-20) of 0.75 (acceptable). The results indicate that scientific understanding of pH concepts, such as the pH of solutions, acid-base titration, and buffer solutions, improves with education. However, comprehension of complex concepts remains low. The study's implications highlight the need for curriculum development and the selection and implementation of learning strategies that enable students to learn in a structured, gradual, and coherent manner. Curriculum development should map out subject matter, distinguish essential from non-essential content, and organize material from simple and essential topics to more complex and non-essential ones.
