Abstract

The phenomenon in this research is the decline in the number of marriage registrations at Ministry of Religious Affairs/KUA. According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Religion in the last three years, the marriage rate in Indonesia has decreased drastically. Around two million marriages will decrease by 2024. Meanwhile, according to the 2018 in the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, the creative economy subsector contributes greatly to the national economy, with a contribution of 7.44% to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), one of the MSMEs in the creative economy subsector namely MSME EO. With the decline in the number of KUA registrations, MSMEs in the marriage sector are experiencing market saturation. Therefore, marketing performance (variable y) is required, including competitive advantage (variable z) as moderation and (variable x) namely digital marketing and market orientation. This research used quantitative and saturated sampling techniques. The population involved 101 MSME actors in the field of Event Organizer (EO) in DKI Jakarta. Employing SMART PLS 4.0, the results of this research indicate that digital marketing and market orientation have a significant influence on EO marketing performance in DKI Jakarta. However, competitive advantage cannot moderate digital marketing and market orientation.

Abstract

The concept of green tourism has started to gain attention since it is seen as a practice that can reduce carbon emissions, environmental degradation, and detrimental impacts on the environment and tourists' activities. As the main actors within the tourism industry, tourists are also encouraged to start to have concerns for the environment when they visit a destination. This study attempts to identify the driving factors of tourists' environmentally responsible behavior by examining how green mindfulness, green knowledge, and individual green value of tourists influence attitudes towards green tourism, which then affect their intention and conduct to participate in green tourism. Through the quantitative method, this study employs a survey administered to 330 respondents who visited tourist destinations in West Java Province, Indonesia. The data obtained is analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Green mindfulness, knowledge, and individual values positively influence tourists' attitudes toward green tourism. Furthermore, attitude toward green tourism leads to the intention to participate in green tourism and eventually to environmentally responsible tourism behavior. This study forms a framework that explains the formation of pro-environmental behavior from visitors who have positive views, perceptions, and values toward the environment. Managers of tourist attractions can look for ways or alternatives to increase green mindfulness, knowledge, and value from tourists. Even though the visitors themselves can own this, the manager can grow it by providing information about green tourism on their website, social media, brochures, or information channels. This study offers new insight into how to boost the environmentally responsible behavior of tourists while visiting tourism destinations by utilizing the extended theory of planned behavior. It sheds light on green tourism from the side of the tourists by establishing the model of green tourists' behavior.

Abstract

Shell waste accumulates along the coastal areas of Surabaya and Sidoarjo, with various types of shells including blood shells, green shells, feather shells, kampak shells, and batik shells. Currently, the waste from these shells is not being utilized optimally. Marine shell waste contains more than 95% calcium carbonate (CaCO3), making it suitable for the production of aragonite crystals, which can serve as raw materials for applications such as bone regeneration, paper manufacturing, and as fillers in rubber and plastics. The objective of this research is to synthesize aragonite from five types of marine shells and to investigate the effect of carbonation temperature on the percentage of aragonite formation. The method employed for synthesizing aragonite crystals is carbonation. Initially, the CaCO3 derived from marine shells is calcined at 900°C to produce calcium oxide (CaO). This calcium oxide is then dissolved in hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form calcium chloride (CaCl2). Subsequently, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is added to CaCl2, and carbon dioxide (CO2) gas is bubbled through the solution to precipitate CaCO3 along with by-products of NaCl and water. The variables examined include comparisons among five types of shells (blood shells, green shells, feather shells, kampak shells, and batik shells) at calcination temperatures of 30°C, 60°C, and 90°C. The best results were obtained from the synthesis using green shells, yielding an aragonite crystal polymorph percentage of 76.4% at a carbonation temperature of 90°C. Conversely, the smallest yield of aragonite crystal polymorph was observed with batik shells at 26.0%.
