Abstract

The creation of a dance work called "Basawuik Kato Maelo Raso" aims to create creative dance works and to train as well as to educate the creative power of a choreographer to prepare ideas through innovative movements as a communicative language in a dance work. Basawik Kato Maelo Raso(interlocked words and appeared feelings) dance work is a dramatic dance work which focuses on the daily life of Minangkabau youth. Basawik Kato Maelo Raso dance work is a dance work inspired by the social phenomena of community life in traditional ceremonies such as the inauguration of penghulu (leaders), the village official events, and wedding party. Batombe tradition has the meaning as a medium to express feelings of like or dislike to the opposite sex, and it has a different response in each society.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the process of training self-development activity of Indang Dancein SMK Negeri 3 Padang. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods of analysis. The main instrument in this research is its own researchers and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data types use primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are conducted by way of library studies, observation and documentation. The steps for analyzing data are data reduction, data model (data display) and withdrawal/conclusion verification. The results showed that the training of the self-development activities of Indang Dance in SMK Negeri 3 Padang goes well, in the implementation of self-development activities Dance Indang students get a variety of experiences, students are also able to establish cooperation and solidarity well. The activity of self-development of Indang Dance in SMK Negeri 3 Padang is implemented by demonstration method, drill, Tekhnik enquiries (group exercises) with an imitation approach. Competence achieved by students in the training of the activities of self-development in the Indang Dance SMK Negeri 3 Padang is good. It can be seen from the number of students who have very good competence is as many as 12 students with a percentage of 75.00%, and 4 students have good competence with a percentage of 25.00%.

Abstract

AbstrackThe purpose of this research was to describe the Presentation Form of Reog Ponorogo in Jorong Koto Agung Nagari Sungai Duo Sitiung District, Dharmasraya Regency. This was a qualitative research which used descriptive method. This method could fulfill, reveal and document the ways which were used to obtain data in the field. The object of the research was Reog Ponorogo in Jorong Koto Agung Nagari Sungai Duo Sitiung District, Dharmasraya Regency. The instrument of this research was the researcher assisted by stationery and camera. The data were collected by conducting literature study, observation, interview and documentation. The technique of data analysis was the technique of primary data tabulation that was initiated by the fieldwork process to the stage of identifying data in formal themes which were equipped with secondary data. The result of this research was that the presentation form of Reog Ponorogo was non representative. It was seen through the elements of dance presentation that is motion, dancer, floor pattern, music, costume, makeup, property, time and place of the performance. The presentation form of Reog Ponorogo in Jorong Koto Agung Nagari Sungai Duo has 3 forms of dance including Jathilan, Bujang Ganong and Singo Barong. Keywords: Reog Ponorogo and Jorong Koto Agung Nagari Sungai Duo.

Abstract

Absract This research is aimet to descripbe the estetical study of piriang malunyah dance in sigintir,sungai pagu regency, solok selatan.the research are primary and secondary data. The technigue of data collections are references from the library, observation, interview, and documentation. From the result, it is found thet the shaperg of piriang malunyah dance are in the from, and the arrangenent of its movement it is also found that there is an idea of farmers activity in the society in piriang malunyah dance.   Kata kunci : Estetika, Tari Piriang Malunyah

Abstract

Abstract This study was aimed to describe and analyze meaning of Bucerai Kasih dance on wedding party in Desa Rantau Pandan Kecamatan Rantau Pandan Kabupaten Bungo Provinsi Jambi. Type of this study was qualitative approach with using analytical descriptive method. Type of data in this study were both primary and secondary. Data were collected by using library research, observation, interview and documentation. The study object was Bucerai Kasih dance on wedding party in Desa Rantau Pandan Kecamatan Rantau Pandan Kabupaten Bungo Provinsi Jambi. Result of this study showed that Bucerai Kasih dance was a traditional dance as the embodiment of the values of society’s daily life in Desa Rantau Pandan. It was about responsibility in living acitvies on the wedding party. The meaning of Bucerai Kasih dance which was seen in aspect of motion were spirit and working hard to keep on living. Besides, in floor pattern aspect, it could be seen that there were solidarity and team work attitudes. Then, in some tools namely properties was meant like each other sign inter the dancer. Costum was meant identity of malay and music was namely song lyric was meant worry of youth who were afraid in separating from love. Moreover, meaning of the dance on wedding party was a warning for the youth that in building of household was not easy. Performance of this dance gave satisfaction to the audicences and people who had celebration and it contained of social values namely teamwork, responsibilty and respect each other which were as the identity and  the harmony of life of Desa Rantau Pandan’s society. Keywords:                 Meaning of Dance, Bucerai Kasih Dance, The Wedding Party

Abstract

Abstract This article explained about the dance title ‘’ Not Hear but see ‘’ as anew creation telling a about group of people born as normal creatures and the other born with hearing impairment. The existence of those msde the one with lacks had low self-esteem, and feit sad. This dance was a kind of dramatic dances which was presented symbolically. It is also considered as conteporer dance. The problem potrayed in the dance was that human being was not a perfect creature, in which each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses. The ending of this explained that the deaf people and the common ones could have a mutual understanding and lived together by dismissing the social gaps between them and be grateful for the life they had. Abstract

This research aims to reveal and describe "The preservation of Piriang Rantak Tapi dance in Pitalah village, Batipuh District, Tanah Datar Regency". This research belongs to a qualitative research using descriptive method. The main instrument in this study was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools and cameras. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The steps of analyzing data were collecting the data, describing the data, and concluding the data. The results show that the effort to preserve the Piriang Rantak Tapi dance isby collaborating with the Tuo Tari and the community in Pitalah village, Batipuh district. With the training of Piriang Rantak Tapi dance, the number of performers has increased from 1 to 8 people in the dance, so that currently the RantakTapipiriang dance has had the next generation to maintain the existence of the dance. This has a positive impact and can be accepted by the community because there are many dance performers around the community. The impact learned in the PiriangRantak dance is that those who previously did not understand dance, but then they can dance a dance taught, namely Piriang Rantak Tapi Dance.

Abstract

This dance work aims to create a dance work which trains and educates a choreographer to become a creative choreographer in preparing ideas through innovative moves as the language in a dance work. The theme in this dance work is about adaptation. The work of this dance is a dramatic dance with a representational symbolic performance. The dance work "PADBAGAY" is taken from Philippine Tagalog which means adaptation, and the dance work is inspired by the life of parents of a dance stylist whose mother is Filipino and the father is from Minangkabau. This work tells about the struggle of the Filipino woman in adapting to Minangkabau culture from her husband's family.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes by using audiovisual media in dance art subjects at SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Mutiara. The type of research was classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles. The subjects of the study were 7th-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Mutiara which were 33 students. Data collection instruments used was observation sheets, field notes, and knowledge (Cognitive) and skills (Psychomotor) test results. The results of this study indicate that learning using audiovisual media succeeded in improving the learning outcomes of 7th-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Mutiara. It is proved by the improvement of student learning outcomes in cycle I and cycle II where there is a very good improvement. In the first cycle, the results of the skills test (psychomotor) were 65.15%. As well as the results of the first cycle test for knowledge (cognitive) tests for learning outcomes the test showed 60.76%. Cycle II of learning test results on the skills test (psychomotor) is 82.42%. As well as the second cycle test for knowledge (cognitive) is 80.45%. Thus the use of audiovisual media improves learning outcomes in dance art learning in 7th-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Mutiara very well. Keywords: Increases, Learning Results, Dance, Audio Visual Media

Abstract

This article aimed to describe the form of Dampeng Dance Presentation at a Traditional Wedding Ceremony in the Sub-District of Subulussalam Longkib, Aceh Singkil, by revealing the form and sequence of Dampeng dance at the Traditional Wedding Ceremony. The type of this research was qualitative using descriptive methods. The object of this research was the Form of Dampeng Dance Persentation at a Marriage Ceremony in the Sub-District of Longkit, Aceh Singkil. The types of data in this study were primary data and secondary data, with research instruments namely the researcher herself. Since the research was a library research, the techniques of data collection were observation, interviews and documentation. After collecting the data, the data was analyzed accurately and selected according to the needs and its relation to the issues discussed. The results showed that Dampeng dance was a traditional dance that grew and developed in the Longkib Subdistrict, Subulussalam. The form of Dampeng dance was a combination of the imitation of an eagle that is spinning overhead. The form of presentation of the Dampeng dance at this ceremony was a symbolic form, because it was a part of the conclusions in enlivening the wedding ceremony. Dampeng dance is a symbol of wedding ceremony and describes cooperation in social community. Besides a movement, Dampeng dance also conveys messages to the listener about the meaning of life, kindness, politeness, advice and caring for each other.
