Abstract

Wana wisata Bedengan berada di Dusun Selokerto, Desa Selorejo, Kecamatan Dau, Kabupaten Malang. Wisata ini telah dibuka sejak tahun 2007 pada lahan seluas 13,7 hektar yang terletak ±12 km dari Universitas Negeri Malang. Tempat ini memiliki udara khas dataran tinggi, ditumbuhi oleh pepohonan pinus, tanah yang masih subur dan terdapat aliran sungai dengan airnya yang sangat jernih sehingga tempat ini sangat cocok sebagai wisata edukasi tentang ekosistem. Mitra desa ingin mengembangkan wisata edukasi ikan di tempat ini, sehingga sangat diperlukan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan teknik budidaya ikan. Untuk itu dilakukan beberapa tahapan kegiatan, yaitu: 1. Survey lokasi wana wisata bedengan; 2. Pengkondisian lokasi yang pas untuk dijadikan kolam ikan dan pengambilan sampel air; 3. Pembelian dan pengkondisan ikan koi; 4. Pemindahan ikan koi ke kolam; 4. Pelatihan pemeliharaan ikan yang melibatkan 11 anggota pengelola wisata bedengan serta mengundang narasumber ahli. 5. Pemberian bantuan pakan serta praktek pemeliharaan ikan koi. Setelah pelaksaan rangkaian kegiatan tersebut, anggota pengelola wisata bedengan sudah dapat memahami dan mampu melakukan proses pemeliharaan ikan koi dengan baik. Para pengunjung juga memberikan respon positif dengan adanya wisata edukasi ikan ini.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pengabdian kemitraan masyarakat ini diterapkan pada bengkel modifikasi trail Trelwork sebagai mitra di Desa Gadungan Kecamatan Wates Kabupaten Kediri Jawa Timur karena dalam fabrikasi rangka trail masih secara manual dengan waktu produksi yang lama dan kualitas produk yang rendah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk (1) membantu mengakselerasi perkembangan UMKM dengan menerapkan mesin press bodi multifungsi yang inovatif untuk melakukan 2 kerja sekaligus, yaitu centering rangka dan press produk penyangga samping motor trail, (2) meningkatan kapasitas produksi dan kualitas produk mitra dalam produksi dan reparasi motor trail. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan selama 10 bulan meliputi: (1) analisis masalah/kebutuhan, (2) perancangan mesin dan analisa desain (3) pembuatan mesin (4) uji performa dan transfer teknologi alat, (5) penerapan mesin kepada mitra usaha dan (6) evaluasi hasil. Perubahan yang didapatkan setelah penerapan mesin adalah peningkatan kecepatan kerja dan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan disamping bertambahnya kemampuan untuk menghasilkan produk tambahan. Abstract

Ikan lele merupakan salah satu ikan budidaya yang banya digemari oleh masyarakat Jawa Timur sehingga permintaannya setiap tahun semakin meningkat. Seiring meningkatnya permintaan yang meningkat tidak diimbangi dengan pengelolaan kualitas air yang baik. Salah satu penyebabnya karena kurangnya pemahaman petani ikan akan pentingnya penerapan teknologi dalam proses budidaya ikan. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pemberdayaan masyarkaat melalui Pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengenai penerapan teknologi dalam budidaya ikan. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini akan berfokus pada satu mitra yang saat ini tengah mengembangkan usaha perikanan budidaya lele, yaitu Kelompok Budidaya Ikan (Pokdakan) ROI LELE. Pokdakan ROI LELE berada di desa Bringin, kecamatan Wajak, Kabupaten Malang, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Metode pelaksanaan PKM ini meliputi memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan mengenai penerapan teknologi Microbubble Generator (MBG) yang terkoneksi dengan Internet of things (IOT). Sistem MBG ini dilengkapi sensor untuk sistem monitoring kadar oksigen terlarut dan pH dengan mengintegrasikan konsep IOT untuk memonitor dan mengendalikan MBG secara otomatis maupun manual melalui kontrol smartphone. Berdasarkan hasil penerapan MBG dan IOT pada kolam ikan lele didapatkan hasil kadar oksigen terlarut meningkat dan menjaga pH perairan tetap stabil sehingga mendukung kelangsungan pertumbuhan ikan lele. Selanjutnya, capaian dari PKM ini ialah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani ikan serta peningkatan kapasitas produksi ikan lele dengan adanya penerapan MBG dan IOT.

Abstract

Many studies were conducted to maintain the environment by reducing the waste, especially pineapple peel waste. This study aims to explore the effect of various pressure of the homogenization process on bacterial cellulose membrane surface morphology and structure produced using extract of pineapple peel waste. The methods include the preparation of pellicle samples from the product of the fermentation process of Acetobacter xylinum using a medium from the extract of pineapple peel waste. Bacterial cellulose pellicles were crushed using a blender. Mashed bacterial cellulose pellicle then homogenized in High-Pressure Homogenizer with pressure variation of  0 bar, 150 bar, 300 bar, 450 bar, dan 600 bar then cast into a mold. The bacterial cellulose solutions were dried in an oven at 60°C for 8 hours. The dried bacterial cellulose membrane was analyzed using XRD for the structure and SEM analysis for the morphology. The results indicate that the crystalline properties of BCM were shifted after being treated by various pressure processing in a High-Pressure Homogenizer. It was found that the High-Pressure Homogenizer with higher pressure reduced the peak intensity, decreased crystalline index from 87% to 70%, and decreased the degree of crystalline from 88% to 77%  without changing the cellulose structure. The higher pressure of the homogenization process causes the porosity of the membrane to be decreased.

Abstract

Cantang grouper (Epinephelus sp.) is a fish with a high economic value and has been widely cultivated. VNN disase, caused by Betanodavirus infection, can lead to mass mortality of cantang grouper. Precautions considered effective in preventing Viral nervous necrosis (VNN) disease include vaccination. This study aimed to determine the effect of administering recombinant Chlorella vulgaris protein nanovaccine based on chitosan hybrid nanoparticles in increasing the immune response of cantang grouper infected with VNN. The study consisted of five treatments: K+ (cantang grouper infected with VNN), K- (healthy cantang grouper), T1 (healthy cantang grouper given 33 µl of nanovaccine and then challenged with VNN), T2 (healthy cantang grouper given 66 µl of nanovaccine and then tested with a VNN challenge), and T3 (healthy cantang grouper given 112 µl of nanovaccine and then tested with a VNN challenge). The parameters observed were haematology, nanovaccine Relative percent survival (RPS), and Survival rate (SR) levels. The study results showed that administering the nanovaccine increased the immune response of the fish, as indicated by an increase in haematology response, RPS, and SR in cantang grouper compared to the treatment without nanovaccine administration. Abstract

The goldfish (Carassius auratus) has become one of the most sought-after ornamental fish today. The continuously rising market demand for goldfish as pets and decorative objects has driven the growth of the goldfish (Carassius auratus) farming industry. However, fish farmers still face difficulties in controlling the health of the fish and the quality of their water. The aquatic environment plays a crucial role in the growth of goldfish (Carassius auratus). Therefore, environmental management and fish health are essential in goldfish (Carassius auratus) farming. After the PKM Team analyzed the existing issues, the activities carried out to address these issues include the implementation of an Environmentally Friendly Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) in the goldfish (Carassius auratus) farming ponds. In this PKM program, water filtration will consist of mechanical filters, biological filters, chemical filters, and UV light. The results of the community service activities conducted by the PKM Team with their partners include increased knowledge, improved skills, increased production capacity, and increased profitability. Abstract

Crystal defects can be identified through the crystallographic characteristics of crystal orientation (lattice), microstrain, and texture. Identification of crystal defects on the atomic scale through crystallography is very important in analyzing the mechanism of material properties due to the influence of dislocations. The slip mechanism is analyzed to minimize coil spring failure. This study aims to analyze the causes of coil spring failure based on crystallography. XRD testing was carried out for analysis of residual stress, crystal orientation, and texture using MAUD 2.94 version software. Hardness testing was carried out on the surface of the coil spring with locations near and far from the fracture using micro Vickers. The macro fracture morphology was analyzed using a DSLR camera and the micro fracture morphology was analyzed using SEM. The XRD result shows that the coil spring material has a tensile residual stress value of "202.4 ± 15.9 MPa" with the resulting crystal orientation showing the hkl (100), (200), (211), (200) fields. The plane (200) has a texture characteristic that is oriented towards the Rolling direction along the spring axis. Texture oriented towards Rolling Direction can be shown with a maximum probability value of 1.191. A high probability will have an impact on the presence of material surface defects. Surface defects are indicated by the presence of pit corrosion on micro and macro fracture morphology observations. The pit corrosion defects that occur in the failed coil springs are the beginning of the formation of crack initiation and cause stress concentration. The stress concentration will increase with loading and cause crack propagation.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country with the potential to grow many plants as natural fiber sources. In order to improve its properties, natural fiber needs to be treated by applying nanomaterial so that it can compete with the characteristics of synthetic fibers. The study aims to determine the influence of adding titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles on pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) characteristics. The PALF was collected from the Subang plantation (Indonesia). The chemical treatment was carried out with pre-treatment using an alkalization process for 3 hours, and the oxidation process was carried out with TEMPO. TiO2 nanoparticle grafting was carried out by adding a silane solution with a ratio of 1:10 with alcohol. The characteristics of PALF were observed using XRD, FTIR, SEM, and tensile tests. The results show that the crystallinity of the PALF increased after TEMPO treatment. PALF form Si-O-C bond identified at a wavelength of 1158 cm-1 after silane treatment. Ti – O – Si functional groups were identified in the 660 cm-1 – 670 cm-1 wavelength range. In the fiber surface, agglomerated TiO2 nanoparticles are formed and increase with increasing TiO2 nanoparticle concentration. The tensile stress of treated PALF is increased by 125%, with the highest tensile strength of 1279.18 MPa, obtained by TiO2 nanoparticle concentration of 1.0%.

Abstract

Fused deposition modeling of 3D printing is the process of making workpieces or parts by adding filaments to each layer. Some indicators of a high-quality product of 3D printing are the precisions dimensions, the surface roughness, and tensile strength. This research aims to find the parameters most affecting surface roughness and tensile strength. The research design used an experimental method with input parameters: (1) print speed (15-35 mm/s), (2) print temperature (200-210°C), (3) layer height (0.1 – 0.3 mm), (4) infill line directions (0-90°), and dependent variables were surface roughness and tensile strength. The data distribution used the L9 orthogonal array, and the statistic analysis used ANOVA. Material uses nanographite-reinforced polylactic acid (PLA) filament. The results indicate that print parameters that significantly affect surface roughness are layer height and infill line directions. The best surface roughness on the layer height parameter is 0.1 mm, and the infill line directions parameter is 90°. Based on ANOVA analysis, print speed, print temperature, and layer height do not significantly affect tensile strength, but infill line directions significantly affect tensile strength. The best tensile strength on infill line directions is 90°. The best average tensile strength with nanographite-reinforced PLA filament is 38.56 N/mm2, with 35 m/s print speed, 205 °C print temperature, 0.1 mm layer height, and 90° infill line direction parameter. The best average surface roughness with nanographite-reinforced PLA filament is 0.66 µm, with 35 m/s print speed, 205 °C print temperature, 0.1 mm layer height, and 90° infill line direction parameter.

Abstract

Natural fibers, which are abundant, environmentally friendly, and biodegradable, are used as a replacement for synthetic fibers. The composite strength can be increased by treating the surfaces of natural fibers with suitable chemicals, which can also improve the interface interaction between fiber and matrix. Application of a coupling agent in chemical treatment is utilized to reinforce the bonding between fiber and matrix. The objective of the study is to determine the influence of silane concentration on the Sansevieria cylindrica fiber properties. The methods included fibers treatment using ethanol and coupling agent as dissolving and TiO2 with concentrations of 0 percent, 0.25 percent, 0.5 percent, 0.75 percent, and 1 percent. The mechanical strength testing was conducted through a single fiber test. Fiber morphology was observed using an electron microscope. FTIR analyzes the change in fiber chemical composition caused by TiO2 addition. As a result, the morphology of S. cylindrica fibers became rougher and showed a rougher surface after a silane concentration of 1 percent, but with the proper concentration, some fiber surfaces provided a good interface. Ti-O bonds are formed at a wavelength of 475 cm-1. The shift in a peak at 400–500 cm-1 indicates Ti-O-Ti group stretching vibrations believed to have originated from TiO2 particles. The mechanical strength increases as the concentration of TiO2 increases, with the highest fiber strength of 284.66 MPa observed at a TiO2 concentration of 1 percent. This represents a 26 percent higher tensile strength compared to the control specimen.
