Abstract

Transition metals have emerged and have begun to be widely researched as alternative materials in the manufacture of metallic catalytic converters (MCC). The selection of transition metals is based on the availability of abundant materials in the market, besides that the price of transition metals tends to be cheaper when compared to PGM. Therefore, through this study, an analysis of the effect of chrome-plated copper MCC (CuCr) was carried out on CO and HC exhaust emissions. Emission testing is carried out under two conditions. The first condition is the condition where the test vehicle still uses a standard exhaust, while in the second condition the test vehicle uses a modified exhaust equipped with MCC CuCr technology. The test vehicle used was the 2005 Honda Supra Fit. The emission testing process was carried out based on the SNI 09-71118.1-2005 standard which was then compared with the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment, Number 05 of 2006. The research findings show that MCC CuCr is proven to be able to reduce exhaust emissions by an average reduction of 24% for CO emissions and 30% for HC emissions. The emission test results show that the measured CO emission is 1.68% Vol while the CO emission threshold is 5.5% Vol. Meanwhile, the measured HC emission is 1719 ppmVol while the HC emission threshold is 2400 ppmVol. Therefore, it can be concluded that MCC CuCr passed the emission test in accordance with the Regulation of the State Minister of the Environment number 5 of 2006.

Abstract

Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a natural polymer which have superior properties, like high porosity, high purity, and high permeability. The study objective is to determine the influence of chemical pretreatment on tensile strength and the porosity of BC. The method was to make BC films from pineapple peel extract through fermentation process for 14 days. The pretreatment was conducted by immersion of BC in BmimCl, H2O2, and NaOH solution with a concentration of 2.5%; 5%; and 7.5 %, heated at 80 °C then dried in the oven, and the samples were then tested by a tensile test using ASTM-D636-V standard, morphology analysis using Scanning Electron Microscope, and porosity analysis. The results indicate that the tensile strength of control sample was 123 MPa, whereas after chemical pretreatment, the tensile strength was decreased with the greater reduction occurred using NaOH pretreatment compared than the other solutions that having a lower tensile strength of 8.54 MPa at 7.5 % of NaOH. The results of porosity show that the value increased after being treated chemically. The BC film porosity was 87.13% after  NaOH treatment of 7.5% while BC film untreated had porosity of 19.15%. This phenomenon was occurred due to the increasing pore, so the absorption of water increased.

Abstract

The major factors determining the quality of sand casting products are the base sand and the composition of the sand mould and the binding material. In the foundry industry, the most commonly used binder for creating sand moulds is bentonite. However, the price of bentonite is likely to keep rising. This study aimed at discovering a new binder formula associated with the effect of binder composition i.e. bentonite, tapioca flour, and sago flour on the basis of its mechanical and physical properties. The new formula was expected to be a better binder in the production of sand moulds, resulting in high-quality casting products with minimal defects. Moreover, it is probable to be much more economical than bentonite. This research focused on testing the moulding sand composition with a number of different binders, i.e. bentonite, tapioca flour, and sago flour, each in a different proportion. The mixture of the moulding sand with each of the three binders will be tested in terms of its mechanical properties including compressive, shear, and tensile strength. Based on the test results, sago flour has the highest dry compressive strength of 28.6 N/cm2, whereas bentonite has the highest wet compressive strength, i.e. 11.83 N/cm2 and the highest wet shear strength i.e. 3.16 N/cm2. The binder with the highest dry shear strength is tapioca flour with 18.16 N/cm2. Regarding the tensile strength value, bentonite has the highest wet tensile strength of 0.85 N/cm2, while sago flour has the highest dry tensile strength of 1.73 N/cm2.

Abstract

Jatropha oil has characteristics very close to the diesel fuel, so it has good prospects as a substitute or as a mixture of diesel fuel. Previous research showed that jatropha oil usage in diesel engines caused power to decrease. It was probably owing to the higher viscosity of the Jatropha oil compared to that of diesel oil. Installing the magnetic field in the fuel line of a diesel engine fueled with jatropha-diesel oil is expected to reduce the viscosity of jatropha-diesel oil mixture, hence improve the combustion reaction process. This research aims to know the influence of the magnetic field strength in the fuel lines to the power of diesel engines fueled with a mixture of jatropha-diesel oil. The composition of Jatropha oil-diesel was 20% jatropha oil and 80% diesel oil. Magnetic field variations were 0.122, 0.245 and 0.368 Tesla. The results showed that the higher the strength of the magnetic field was, the higher the average diesel engine’s power would be.

Abstract

UMKM convection is a business that must be strengthened in relation to the implementation of the MEA. Srawung Convection UMKM which are partners for the Community Partnership Program have existed in Kebonagung Village, Pakisaji District, Malang Regency since 2014. The existence of Srawung Convection UMKM is very much felt by Vocational High Schools (SMK) in the City and District of Malang as an internship place to train clothing making skills t-shirts/t-shirts. Thus indirectly the existence of Srawung Convection UMKM helps overcome unemployment in the City and Regency of Malang through the creation of new t-shirt convection business actors. The problems that were agreed with Srawung Convection UMKM were: 1) Production aspects and 2) Economic aspects. Based on the results of the meeting and joint coordination with the Srawung Convection UMKM, it was agreed that the above problems were resolved by the following methods: 1) Convection UMKM Productivity Improvement Program which included: procurement and training of single needle sewing machines, procurement and training of chain sewing machines, and cloth cutting machines and 2) Convection UMKM Management Aspect Improvement Program which includes: business management training, production management training, marketing training, production planning training, financial management training, inventory training, marketing training, and HR management training. The results of the implementation of the PKM program: 1) The productivity of Srawung Convection UMKM increased by 100%, 2) The ability of the management aspects of Srawung Convection UMKM increased by 100%

Abstract

Indonesia is the fourth largest coffee producing country in the world. The development of a coffee shop business is very urgent to implement because the role of MSMEs is very large in supporting the national economy as well as playing a major role in overcoming unemployment in the community. Until 2018, MSMEs still controlled the market share in Indonesia of 99.99% with the number of business units amounting to 56,534,592 units is inversely proportional to large businesses which only control 0.01% market share with a total of 4,968 business units. This also shows that the unemployment rate in Indonesia can be absorbed more in the MSME sector. The problems agreed upon with Mbak Iin's Mbak Coffee Shop SMEs are: (1) the production aspect and (2) the economic aspect. Based on the results of the meeting and coordination with Mbak Iin's Mbak Iin Coffee Shop, it was agreed that the problem would be resolved by the following methods: (1) Coffee Entrepreneur Productivity and Welfare Improvement Program which includes: cup sealer design, espresso and capuccino machine design, coffee grinder machine design , lay out and repair coffee drink production facilities, lay out and repair coffee shops for consumers, lay out and repair fried food production facilities and (2) MSME Development Program which includes: business management training, production management training, marketing training, planning training production, financial management training, inventory training, marketing training, and HR management training.

Abstract

 Pemerintah melalui Direktorat Jenderal Hortikultura membuat sebuah skema strategis untuk menggenjot produksi hortikultura dan menjadikan Indonesia sebagai negara yang swasembada hortikultura. Skema yang dimaksud adalah dengan membentuk kawasan florikulturasi terintegrasi oleh teknologi. Konsep ini sangat bergantung penerapannya pada dunia akademisi untuk memobilisasi hasil risetnya untuk diterapkan oleh petani. Oleh karena itulah, dirancanglah pelatihan pembuatan teknologi perangkap hama sebagai salah satu program pendukung yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapabilitas petani dalam menggunakan teknologi. Mitra pelatihan adalah Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Anggrek, dimana kelompok ini merupakan salah satu kelompok tani hortikultura yang sering mengalami penurunan pada produksi panennya akibat serangan hama. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian menitik beratkan pada prinsip intesifikasi komunikasi dan pertemuan dengan mitra petani. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan, didapatkan fakta bahwa penggunaan leaflet dan video tutorial sangat berhasil dalam menyampaikan substansi pelatihan yang ditargetkan. Hasil pengamatan dengan kuisioner juga menunjukkan bahwa petani mendapatkan pemahaman yang menyeluruh mengenai pentingnya penggunaan teknologi dalam proses produksi mereka. Para petani juga mendapatkan pemahaman yang penting mengenai morfologi hama, metode perancangan dan perawatan alat, serta spesifikasi komponen-komponen kelistrikan yang digunakan.

Abstract

Secara umum diketahui ada dua metode untuk proses pengupasan kulit kopi pasca panen, yaitu metode kering dan basah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan proses pengupasan kulit biji kopi yang kurang memadai yang dilakukan pada dua mesin sekaligus (pulper dan huller). Selain itu, kurang efektifnya mesin huller yang ada saat ini mengakibatkan proses pengupasan harus dilakukan berulang-ulang. Faktor bahan bakar (BBM) juga menjadi permasalahan mitra karena harga dan polusi yang ditimbulkan. Berdasarkan permasalahan mitra tersebut, solusi yang diberikan adalah merancang sebuah mesin dengan menggabungkan antara mesin pulper dan mesin huller menjadi satu, yang disebut sebagai Mesin Huller dan Pulper Two in One. Penggabungan dua mesin tersebut dapat mengatasi masalah tempat yang menjadi permasalahan mitra selama ini. Proses pengupasan biji kopi dapat dilakukan sekaligus antara biji kopi kering dan biji kopi basah secara berkesinambungan yang dapat mempersingkat waktu pemrosesan pengupasan biji kopi. Solusi kedua adalah memperbaiki model pisau pada Mesin Pulper dan Huller Two in One dengan menyesuaikan kebutuhan mitra. Berdasarkan kajian kontribusi transfer teknologi dan implementasi inovasi, kegiatan ini berhasil memberikan nilai tambah bagi petani kopi saat ini dan secara jangka panjang berkontribusi dalam swasembada ekspor pada tahun 2020-2024 untuk kemandirian petani kopi lokal Indonesia.

Abstract

Transaksi keuangan  perusahaan pada umumnya sudah aplikasi dengan software akuntansi, Perusahaan membutuhkan tenaga yang dapat mengaplikasikan akuntansi. Kebutuhan tenaga pelaksana pencatatan transaksi tidak hanya mengambil dari lulusan perguruan tinggi semata akan tetapi biasanya juga mengambil para lulusan dari SMK sesuai bidangnya. Para Lulusan SMK dituntut untuk dapat mengoperasikan salah satu software akuntansi sehingga nantinya pada saat bekerja diperusahaan sudah mengenal dan tidak canggung lagi mengoperasikan software akuntansi. Sumber daya manusia dibidang akuntansi relative masih banyak dibutuhkan. Sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas  dalam suatu perusahaan merupakan faktor yang dominan dalam pencapaian tujuan perusahaan. Oleh karena alasan tersebut  Kami sebagai pengabdi kepada masyarakat ingin ikut serta membekali para Siswa SMK khususnya SMK PGRI Turen  agar nantinya setelah lulus dapat menambah skill di bidang akuntansi khususnya akuntansi secara terkomputer. Pembukuan  transaksi  perusahaan  sekarang ini  rata-rata sudah mengaplikasikan komputer dan untuk itu kami mencoba mengenalkan salah satu software akuntansi sebagai alat pembelajaran yaitu Excel dan MYOB. Software ini banyak diajarkan pada sekolah-sekolah menengah atas dan di perguruan tinggi. Tujuan kami untuk mengadakan pelatihan ini agar nantinya para lulusan SMK PGRI Turen  lebih  familier untuk mengoperasikan akuntansi secara komputer. Kata Kunci : Pelatihan akuntansi Komputerisasi dengan Software Excel dan MYOB

Abstract

Emissions produced by motorized vehicles greatly contribute to various environmental and health problems. One technology that is currently being developed to reduce the number of emissions in the environment is the catalytic converter. This technology is proven to be able to reduce exhaust emissions well, but how big the impact on engine performance (torque and power) still needs further research. The main objective of this study was to determine the impact of using chrome plated copper (CuCr) catalytic converters on engine performance. The vehicle used in the test is a Yamaha Vixion Lightning 150 CC. Engine performance (torque and power) was measured using the Inertia Chassis Dynamometer test instrument with the SAE J1349 standard. The findings of this study indicate that the use of experimental exhaust results in a decrease in vehicle torque and power. This is certainly a compromising factor that must be accepted, considering that installing a catalyst is the same as increasing the exhaust gas flow barrier. The decrease in torque and power is still in the acceptable category, considering that the average decrease only occurs at about 5% for torque and 7% for power. All these arguments show that since the main purpose of using catalytic converters is to lower exhaust emissions, it makes engine performance lower than expected.
