Abstract

This research aimed to increase the student's activity and creativity in Geograpy learning by using Discovery learning model. The research method was a classroom action research. It had been implemented in three cycles, each cycles consisted of planning steps, actions, observations, and reflections, which purposed to improve the learning quality. The techniques applied in this research were discussions, questionings, and library-study. The data collecting techniques were learning activities observation sheets, learning creativities observation sheets, and learning test achievement in form of essay answer. Each data from the observation result and achievement test from every cycle would become data base or improvement material in the next other cycles. The result had shown that improvements could be found in both learning activities and creativities as it could be seen in students study achievements in each cycle after using the discovery model in Geography learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan kreativitas belajar Geografi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran yang menggunakan model discovery learning. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Kegiatan penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus, tiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi, yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah diskusi, tanya jawab, dan kajian pustaka. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar pengamatan aktivitas belajar, lembar pengamatan kreativitas belajar dan tes hasil belajar yang berupa soal uraian. Data dari hasil observasi dan tes formatif disetiap siklus menjadi dasar atau bahan perbaikan pada siklus berikutnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: terdapat peningkatan aktivitas belajar dan kreativitas belajar siswa yang terlihat dari meningkatnya hasil belajar siswa disetiap siklus setelah penggunaan model discovery learning pada pembelajaran Geografi.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, discovery learning, kreativitas belajar

Abstract

Abstract Background : Asthma is a worldwide health problem. People with asthma in the world today was estimated at 300 million peoples, and expected in 2025 reached 400 million peoples. In Indonesia, there were currently about 12.5 million peoples. In BBKPM Makassar, the number of people with asthma who visit in 2009 were 291 patients, in 2010 to 292 patients, and in 2011 starting from January to November, as 243 patients. It shows the number of people with asthma who visit the BBKPM Makassar each month has increased. Therapy of asthma treatment often used was nebulizer using combivent and bisolvon. Purpose this study to determine the effectiveness of provision nebulizer of combivent and bisolvon therapy to airway patency in asthma bronchial patient at ER of BBKPM Makassar. Method: used was quase experimental with two groups pretest and posttest design. Sample of 40 patients who met the criteria were randomly selected to be divided into two groups, 20 samples for nebulizer of combivent therapy, and 20 samples for nebulizer of bisolvon therapy. Method: Technique of data analysis used was paired t test. the Research result conducted on two groups of respondents, obtained t count value frequency of respiratory and pulmonary physiology in the treatment group of nebulizer using combivent obtained t count of the frequency of respiratory physiology was 15.601 and pulmonary physiology was 23.083, while the treatment groups of nebulizer using bisolvon obtained t count value was 7.701 and pulmonary physiology was 12.606. Result: were both higher than the t table value 1.725 at significant level 95%. Conclusion: Provision nebulizer of combivent therapy provide greater effectiveness in reducing airway obstruction in asthma bronchial patients at ER ofBBKPM Makassar in 2012.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and explain the effect of education and training on employee performance by testing the moderating variable at PT BPRS Aman Syariah Sekampung. With the population conducted in the study as many as 36 people. Based on the results of the analysis conducted by researchers, it shows that education has a significant effect on employee performance, resulting in a coefficient of t-count value of (31.777) and a significance value of (0.000), training has no effect and is not significant on employee performance, resulting in a coefficient of t-count value of (-902) and a significance value of (0.373). Then the reward does not moderate the effect of education on employee performance, resulting in a significance value of (0.513). Reward also does not moderate the effect of training on employee performance, resulting in a significance value of (0.707).

Abstract

Introduction: Pediatric facial fractures are recognized as separate entities from those occurring in the adult. They differ significantly in their epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment. An understanding of the cause, severity, and distribution of maxillofacial and skull vault trauma and associated injuries can assist in establishing clinical and research priorities for prevention and effective treatment of these injuries. Because there were no studies of maxillofacial injuries in a large series in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, we retrospectively analyzed the characteristics of facial injury treated at our hospital from January 2009 to December 2013. Method: This research is a descriptive study to calculate and compare pediatric and adult maxillofacial fractures between 2009 until 2013. Total sampling of all medical record of maxillofacial trauma patient who came to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital form January 2009 until December 2013 was recorded. All data including age, gender, distribution of fracture site, etiology of fracture and fracture treatment were noted. Severity of mandibular and midface fracture also recorded along with their specific fracture distribution. Results: We recorded 409 patients with craniomaxilofacial (CMF) injuries for 5 previous years that being treated in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. 17.6%(72) of these patients were pediatrics patient with age younger than 18 years old. From the gender distribution we can see that most of the patient were male (85.3%) with motorcycle as the main cause of trauma (75.6%). We can also see that midface fractures was highly suffered not only in adult patient but also in the pediatrics (58.7%) with orbital, nasal and zygomatic complex fractures as the top three most common fracture site. As for isolated mandible fractures share 22.7% from total fractures, and 18.6% suffered from both midface and mandible fracture. From all of these trauma patients, only 42.3% underwent open reduction and internal fixation surgery, while 28.9% refuse treatment. Conclusion: Maxillofacial trauma is not common in children; however, the incidence is increasing in this country. Although the principles of treatment follow as the adult’s, a few special considerations have to be taken into account in order to improve quality of life of the child in both short and long term. A multidisciplinary approach in the management is therefore highly recommended. Preventive measures and treatment plans in children and adult should be designed while keeping in mind their difference.

Abstract

The use of applications for online distance learning is a solution that can be used by teachers and students for the implementation of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Courses in the Department of Chinese Language Education (PSPBM) are carried out synchronously and asynchronously by utilizing various of online applications that can assist online distance learning. This study aims to describe the usage and utilization of online applications for the Chinese Reading Skills Course in PSPBM, as well as the opinion of teachers and students regarding the use of the online applications. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Research data are collected through interviews and questionnaires. The respondents of this study are teachers and participants of Basic Chinese Reading Skills Course I-IV in semester 113-114 Academic Year of 2020/2021. The result of the study shows that online distance learning for Basic Chinese Reading Skills Course I-IV in PSPBM during the Covid-19 pandemic can be carried out well. The online applications which can help teachers and students during the learning process are Zoom, Google Classroom, WhatsApp, Wordwall, Quizizz, and Google Form. Although sometimes there are technical obstacles such as an internet network that is less stable and some applications require a lot of internet quota, there are no specific things that hinder the online distance learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Language is an important communication tool in daily interactions. Language in communication must be used as well as possible. The success of using language in the process of communication is not only by choosing good diction, but also needs to be aligned with the context of communication (pragmatics). Cooperative principles is one of the principles of communication in pragmatics. Grice's cooperativeprinciple in term of creating an effective communication is categorized into four principles, namely: (1) the principle of quantity; (2) the principle of quality; (3) the principle of relevance; and (4) the principle of implementation. The purpose of this study is to describe the fulfillment of Grice's cooperative principle in the conversation of the Chinese animation film xiong xiong le yuan 3. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The results of the study shows that there is fulfillment of Grice's cooperative principle in the animation film xiong xiong le yuan 3. Fulfillment is carried out by applying Grice's cooperative principle in every communication made by speakers and speech partners. The application of the principle of good cooperation in an animated film can also produce a good impact in conveying the messages contained in an animated film to the audience.

Abstract

The phenomenon of code switching and code mixing has become commonplace in everyday life. Code switching is a situation where someone uses different language changes in communicating. Meanwhile, code mixing is a situation where someone mixes two or more languages ​​in communicating. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of code switching and code mixing contained in the song Letting Go. The method used is qualitative by collecting data and the results are presented descriptively. This study uses a sociolinguistic study approach. The results of the research show that there is a form of code switching and code mixing in the song. The form of code switching contained in the lyrics of the song Letting Go is in the form of intersentential switching. This form of code switching occurs between clauses or sentence boundaries, where language switching occurs at sentence boundaries in different languages, namely from Mandarin to English or vice versa. Then, the form of code mixing contained in this study is in the form of inserting elements in the form of repetition of words.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Lengan bawah menyediakan struktur tulang dan asal muasal otot yang memungkinkan tangan beroperasi dalam berbagai orientasi. Kedua tulang lengan bawah (radius dan ulna) berfungsi untuk memungkinkan fleksi dan ekstensi pada siku serta pergelangan tangan melalui sendi diarthrodial. Radius dan ulna berada dalam keseimbangan anatomi halus yang memungkinkan pronasi dan supinasi tangan dalam gerakan lengkung 180 derajat. Fraktur tulang radius dan ulna adalah salah satu cedera ortopedi yang paling umum, Presentasi Kasus : Pasien seorang perempuan dengan usia 20 tahun yang bekerja sebagai konten kreator dan merupakan pasien dengan diagnosa Wrist Stiffness Post ORIF CF Distal Radius et Ulna Sinistra dari Rumah Sakit Ibu Fatmawati Ir. Soekarno, Kota Surakarta. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April 2024. Pasien mengeluhkan adanya nyeri pada bagian pergelangan tangan kiri serta mengeluhkan adanya keterbatasan gerak dan kekakuan untuk digerakan. Manajemen dan Hasil : Pada penelitian ini, modalitas fisioterapi seperti Infra Red (IR) dan beberapa latihan yaitu active exercise, hold relax dan isometric exercise digunakan untuk mengetahui apakah penatalaksanaan tersebut efektif dilakukan pada kasus Wrist Stiffness Post ORIF CF Distal Radius et Ulna Sinistra dalam proses rehabilitasi. Diskusi : Pasien melakukan program rehabilitasi yang terdiri dari Infra Red, active exercise, hold relax dan wrist pumping exercise selama 3 kali dalam 3 minggu. Program terapi yang dilakukan ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi nyeri, meningkatkan kekuatan otot serta meningkatkan Range Of Motion (ROM) pada pasien. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa NPRS (Numeric Pain Rate Scale) untuk mengukur tingkat nyeri, Midline untuk mengukur oedema, Goniometer untuk mengukur Range Of Motion (ROM), MMT (Manual Muscle Testing) untuk mengukur kekuatan otot pasien dan Wrist Hand Disability Index (WHDI) untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan fungsional. Kesimpulan : Pada penelitian ini, diketahui pasien seorang perempuan dengan usia 20 tahun dengan diagnosis pasien Wrist Stiffness Post ORIF CF Distal Radius et Ulna Sinistra didapati hasil adanya penuruan intensitas nyeri, peningkatan kekuatan otot, peningkatassn ROM dan kemampuan aktivitas fungsional setelah diberikannya intervensi fisioterapi.

Abstract

The Project Based Learning learning model and the TPACK concept and its application to learning in schools will have a positive impact on science and science learning in elementary schools. In practice, teachers are not used to using this method but are used to using traditional student center learning. This research aims to describe the application of Project Based Learning with the TPACK approach in science and science learning for class V at SD Negeri 3 Karangwuni. In this application, the teacher acts as a facilitator and companion for students in carrying out the project, while students act as active learners who look for solutions to the challenges given. In this case the researcher uses a descriptive qualitative research method with a phenomenological type of research which will describe the process of implementing learning. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, giving tests and documentation. The results of the research show that the implementation of the Project Based Learning model with the TPACK approach in science and science learning in class 5 of SD Negeri 3 Karangwuni has gone well and is in accordance with the school's vision and mission. The positive impact is that learning becomes more interesting, improves students' academic and non-academic achievements, learning is not boring, and teachers are more creative.

Abstract

Background: To evaluate two pediatric patients with syndromic craniofacial anomaly that underwent craniofacial reconstructive surgery using resorbable plate-screw systems which have been claimed as biodegradable fixation materials and used in craniofacial reconstructive procedures owing to their advantages such as adequate biomechanical resistance, longer dwelling time, elimination through physiological routes without causing any foreign body reaction and/or significant sequale. Patient and Method: Resorbable plate-screw systems used in 2 patiens for craniofacial reconstructive procedures such as bilateral fronto-orbital advancement and segmental right orbita (four wall box) osteotomy were evaluated as for their efficacy. Result: Adequate fixation was obtained in both patient, but Infection complication was seen in segmental right orbita osteotomy patient that appear localized abcess formation on subciliary incision and fronto medial insicion. After drainage insicion and antibiotic administration for 1 week, the infection was relieved. Summary: Owing to resorbable copolymer which contain a polyester derivate of L- lactidc and glycolic acid are ideal fixation materials used favourably in pediatric craniofacial reconstructive surgery and have further advantages such as adequate biomechanical resistance against distraction and compression forces in the early postoperative period, longer dwelling time and elimination from the body through physiological routes without causing any foreign body reaction.
