Abstract

Rejosari Village has enormous potential, namely there are many abundant rice fields around the settlement. Rejosari Village is located in Kebonsari District, Madiun Regency. Farmers in Kebonsari village have used a water pump that is used in the rice field irrigation system. However, until now many farmers still use PLN as the main source in running electric motors for irrigation systems. So that farmers often experience power outages due to lack of electrical power. Community service activities through a partnership program for farmer groups in Rejosari Village, Kebonsari District, Madiun Regency are focused on making Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) panels to convert electrical energy source switches from PLN to sources of solar energy from solar panels. This ATS panel contains a switch that can replace the source of electrical energy in an electric motor that was originally from PLN into an energy source from the Solar Panel. The hope is that with this community service program, farmer groups can obtain electrical energy to power the irrigation system and not depend on PLN. This PKM can also reduce the cost of electricity rates incurred by farmers.

Abstract

Al Mujaddadiyah Islamic Boarding School has vacant land which is used for nursery. The boarding school nursery is managed by the manager of the boarding school and the students. The boarding school nursery is used to produce plant seeds so that economic benefits are obtained in their management. The problem that exists in the Al Mujaddadiyah Islamic Boarding School Nursery is that plant seeds often dry and wither. This is due to the lack of watering on plant seeds due to the busyness of the cottage manager. Awareness of students to care for and watering plant seeds is also lacking. There is no application of technology to determine the temperature around the nursery to keep it stable. The PKM activity in the nursery school of the AL Mujaddadiyah Islamic boarding school provides solutions to partner problems by setting the temperature automatically in the nursery. The results of this automatic temperature setting can automatically water plant seeds if the temperature in the nursery does not match the initial setting temperature.

Abstract

Konsleting listrik atau hubung singkat menjadi penyebab utama dalam kebakaran rumah atau bangunan. Salah satu yang rawan terjadi kebakaran adalah bangunan pondok pesantren. Belum adanya pengetahuan tentang standar instalasi listrik yang baik dan benar yang dipahami oleh para santri dan pengasuh pondok menyebabkan kebakaran pondok ini rawan terjadi. Penggunaan kabel listrik yang sudah rusak atau penggunaan kabel listrik yang ukurannya terlalu kecil sebagai salah satu penyebab kebakaran. Agar tidak terjadi kebakaran pondok maka diperlukan penerapan standar instalasi listrik yang baik dan benar. Penerapan standar instalasi listrik yang baik dan benar diterapkan pada instalasi listrik bangunan gazebo di pondok pesantren Al Mujaddadiyyah. Para santri dan pengelola pondok dapat memahami cara menggunakan instalasi listrik yang benar. Penerapan standar instalasi listrik ini dapat meminimalisir kebakaran di pondok pesantren dengan cara penggunaan peralatan listrik yang sesuai standar dan pemberian wawasan tentang instalasi listrik kepada para santri dan pengelola pondok.

Abstract

Kebutuhan energi listrik di Indonesia semakin meningkat seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk. Ironisnya, peningkatan kebutuhan energi listrik tersebut tidak diimbangi dengan persediaan energi yang memadai. Oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini dirancang sebuah prototipe Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal (Vetical Axis Wind Turbine) tipe Savonius Helius sebagai solusi pemenuhan listrik dengan pemanfaatan energi alternatif terbarukan. Turbin angin ini menggunakan fiber sebagai bahan utama pembuatan blade. Tahap penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pembuatan prototipe, dan pengujian prototipe. Proses pengujian prototipe dilakukan dengan menggunakan variasi kecepatan angin sebesar 2 m/s, 3 m/s, 4 m/s, 5 m/s. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa turbin angin tipe Savonius Helius dengan variasi sudut per-blade 22,5° menunjukkan kecepatan putaran tertinggi sebesar 222,4 Rpm pada kecepatan angin 5,9 m/s dan paling rendah sebesar 47,8 Rpm pada kecepatan angin 2,0 m/s. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa turbin angin tipe Savonius Helius dengan variasi sudut per-blade 22,5° mampu menghasilkan kecepatan putaran yang relatif tinggi dan dapat berputar pada kecepatan angin yang rendah.

Abstract

Abstract— Electrical energy is the most vital necessity in daily human’s life. The need of electrical energy has been continuously increasing along with the industry and society development. Indonesia is a tropical country with loads of energy sources which one of them is the new renewable energy sources. There are still many unexploited river flows that possess potentials as energy sources. The Floating-Hydro power plant is one of portable power plants harnessing the river flows as the energy source. In this study, the Low Rotation 1 Phase AC Generator Using Multiple Stator and Rotor Method in the Floating-Hydro Power Plant was designed. This generator consisted of several stators and rotors. The stator was strung together using the enamel wire. As in accordance to the design outcome, the number of stator windings was 364 per coil, the space between windings was 4cm, and the stator diameter was 25cm. Meanwhile, the rotor consisted of Neodymium (NdFeB) type permanent magnet which was going to be induced into the stator. Every rotor consisted of 10 pieces of permanent magnet with a space between magnets was 2cm. The experiment result, which was performed on the 1 phase axial generator using 2 stators and 3 rotors with loads in the form of 3 pieces of 35W 12VAC lamps, generated voltages of 2,1 VAC with currents of 0,03A at the low speed of 100rpm.  Meanwhile, at the speed of 1200rpm, it generated voltages of 10,68VAC with currents of 0,23A. Abstract

Ice is one of the products produced by cooling machines that can be used to lower the temperature. It is obtained from the process of changing the state of water into ice by cooling below the freezing point of water at 0°C. The process of cooling into ice is done by releasing heat energy which causes the surface of the water to harden. The use of ice-making technology can be done with the Smart Relay-based Fast Freezing Method. This method minimizes the manual system mechanism to increase ice production, one of which is Tube Ice. This research uses an experimental approach method to get the best results which will later be included in the PLC (Program Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems in one Autonic Fort component. This research output is in the form of a smart tube ice machine (ice crystal). This ice machine can help the community in the culinary and fishery fields. With this tube ice machine, culinary entrepreneurs can get an ice supply quickly and hygienically. In contrast to the beam industry, which requires a large area and a lot of infrastructure. This smart tube ice machine can increase the productivity of the tube ice produced. This tube ice machine uses a design with a model and size that is very compact and easy to operate, does not require a large place. So that they can work as micro, small and medium enterprises that can support the community's economy.

Abstract

This research endeavors to increase the lifespan of a battery utilized in a standalone microgrid system, a self-sufficient electrical system that consists of multiple generators that are not connected to the main power grid. This type of system is ideal for use in remote locations or areas where the grid connection is not possible. The sources of energy for this system include photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, diesel generators, and batteries. The state of charge (SOC) of the battery is used to determine the amount of energy stored in it. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) method is applied to minimize energy generation costs and maximize battery life. The results show that battery optimization can decrease energy generation costs from Rp 5,271,523.03 ($338.64 in USD) to Rp 13,064,979.20 ($839.30 in USD) while increasing the battery's lifespan by 0.42%, with losses of 7.22 kW and 433.29 kVAR, and also a life loss cost of Rp 5,499/$0.35.

Abstract

Food security is an important aspect in maintaining people's welfare. However, the main challenge in managing pekarangan as a food source is the efficient management of water for watering plants. Sengkolo Makmur has a yard that is used for food security in the Josenan area of Madiun City. So far, watering is done manually using human power. This watering is also not scheduled so that if the owner of the yard is busy then watering cannot be done. The use of an automatic watering system in the yard has become an innovative solution in increasing the efficiency of water management and plant care. The research method used includes discussions with the management, prototype design, and field trials. This activity describes the steps for designing and developing an automatic watering system involving temperature sensors, water pumps, and time controllers. The watering system is also equipped with a time controller to adjust the watering time according to the needs of plants at various times and seasons. This activity can be a guide for Sengkolo Makmur sustainable food garden managers in applying smart technology for water conservation and developing a greener environment.

Abstract

A transformer is an electrical device that is used to change the voltage from one level to another in order to transfer electrical energy from one place to another. One of the main benefits of a transformer is to reduce power loss in the electrical network. Transformers can be used to stabilize the electric voltage and keep the electric voltage within safe limits. The protection system on the transformer is very important to prevent damage or failure to the transformer which can cause disruption of the electricity supply or even fire. This protection will work to cut off electrical connections and prevent damage to the transformer. Overload interference occurs if the current read on the Smart Relay LCD is more than 10 A so that the contactor will work after a disturbance of 5 seconds and the green indicator light will turn off. Whereas for Overheat interference on the transformer if the temperature exceeds 450C then the contactor will work to turn off the system with a duration of 1-2 seconds then the green indicator light and the system will OFF. The voltage drop disturbance occurs if the voltage read on the Smart Relay LCD is less than 15 kV on the primary side of the transformer and less than 300 V on the secondary side of the transformer so that the contactor will work to cut off the voltage after a disturbance occurs for 8-10 seconds then the green indicator light will turn off.
