Abstract

Being single hood has become a choice for young people now. Not a few young people have a positive attitude towards singlehood l and extend their singlehood. Being singlehood occurs because it is involuntary or is an voluntary. However, living permanently singlehood is still considered negative because it is less in harmony with developmental tasks and traditional societal norms. Do people who agree toward singlehood mean they are not afraid of being singlehood? The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between attitudes towards singlehood and fear of being singlehood among college students by controlling the variables of gender, age and romantic relationship status. This research uses a quantitative approach, namely correlational research using control variables. The subjects in this research were 401 college students aged 18-25 years. The online sampling method is to use a covenience sampling. Data were analyzed using partial correlation from Jamovi. Research findings show that there is a significant negative relationship between attitudes toward singlehood and fear of being singlehood in college students (r=-0.289, p<…..) by controlling of gender, age and romantic relationship status. This means that students who agree toward singlehood will be correlated with reduced fear of being singlhoode. These results also show that the fear of being singlehood among college students who are having romantic relationship is smaller than that of students who are not romantic relationship. Gender and age do not influence attitudes towards singlehood and fear of being singlehood.

Abstract

Post-pandemic, the world of work has undergone a major shift toward more flexible systems, where the boundaries between personal and professional life have become increasingly blurred. In this new work landscape, employee engagement has emerged as a key element in maintaining productivity and sustaining performance. One factor believed to play a significant role in enhancing engagement is job autonomy, which allows employees to manage how, when, and by what standards they complete their tasks. The study aims to determine the canonical relationship between a set of job autonomy variables consisting of work method autonomy, work schedule autonomy, and work criteria autonomy with job involvement variables, namely job involvement role and job involvement setting, in employees who work from home. This research adopts a quantitative method with a survey approach and a correlational design. Data were collected online through the distribution of an online questionnaire on social media, involving 252 respondents who were selected using a self-selection sampling technique. Data were collected using two psychological scales: the Job Autonomy Scale and the Job Involvement Scale. The validity of the instrument was obtained through expert judgment from two expert lecturers and a scale trial. The reliability of the job involvement scale was demonstrated by Cronbach’s Alpha, which was 0.966, while the job autonomy scale had an alpha of 0.960. The data analysis technique employed was canonical correlation analysis. The results of the analysis indicate a significant canonical relationship between the dimensions of job autonomy and job involvement, with all multivariate statistics (Pillai’s Trace, Hotelling’s Trace, and Wilks’ Lambda) showing significant results (p < 0.001). The relationship is positive, meaning that the higher the perceived job autonomy, the higher the employee’s involvement, both in terms of role and environmental aspects. Based on the canonical loadings, the dimension of criterion autonomy contributed the most to the job autonomy set (1.916), while role involvement made the highest contribution to the job involvement set (11.272). These findings emphasize that having flexibility in determining performance benchmarks and actively engaging in work roles are key factors in enhancing overall employee involvement. Reliabilitas skala keterlibatan kerja menunjukkan nilai cronbach’s alpha sebesar 0.966, sedangkan skala otonomi kerja sebesar 0.960.

Abstract

Studies show that children from divorced families tend to experience long-term psychological problems, including depression and difficulties in forming social relationships. This study aims to explore how parental divorce can affect children's mental health based on the experiences of four subjects who grew up in divorced families. The results show that divorce has a profound impact, especially during adolescence. The research design used in this study was qualitative phenomenology, conducting semi-structured interviews with four subjects. Several subjects experienced difficulties in adjusting and interacting in their social environment. Emotional closeness does not only depend on how often children communicate with their parents but can also be influenced by direct interaction. The reasons for divorce include incompatibility, differences in lifestyle, and irresponsibility of one of the parents, which are significant triggering factors. The results of this study highlight that the way children communicate with their parents has an influence on how they cope with the impact of divorce and the importance of emotional and social support in the adjustment process. The implication of these findings is that researchers, communities, and parents need to work together to create a supportive environment so that children can adapt to change and reduce the negative impact of divorce.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the impact of self-efficacy and social support on the adjustment of new female students at the Darul Qur'an Wal-Hadist Sekotong Islamic Boarding School. The method used was quantitative research with an ex-post facto approach, and the sample consisted of 100 new students from various levels of education (SMP, SMA, MA, and SMK) at the Darul Qur'an Wal-Hadist Sekotong Islamic Boarding School Foundation. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire using three Likert scales, namely the self-efficacy scale, social support, and adjustment. Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression techniques. The research results show the following findings: First, self-efficacy has a significant effect on the adjustment of new students and female students, as shown by a significance of 0.000. This shows that the level of self-confidence of students in overcoming the challenges and burdens of Islamic boarding schools has a positive impact on their ability to adapt. Second, social support also has a significant influence on adjustment, with a significance of 0.035. Support from the surrounding environment, both from fellow students and teachers, plays an important role in helping students adapt to the new Islamic boarding school environment. Third, there is a significant influence between self-efficacy and social support on the adjustment of new students and female students at the Darul Qur'an Wal-Hadist Sekotong Islamic Boarding School. These results indicate that internal (self-efficacy) and external (social support) factors together have a positive impact on the adjustment abilities of new students. This research makes an important contribution to understanding the factors that influence the adjustment of new santri and female students in the Islamic boarding school context, with potential implications for the development of support and coaching programs for those new to the Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of forgiveness therapy in enhancing self-forgiveness among women affected by parental divorce. The subject, a 26-year-old female entrepreneur, was struggling with self-blame, particularly following the trauma of her parents' divorce. The research applied the Heartland Forgiveness Scale (HFS) to assess self-forgiveness levels before and after a structured six-session intervention. The forgiveness therapy, based on Enright’s model, involved phases such as uncovering pain, decision to forgive, working through emotions, and deepening the process. Data collected showed a significant improvement in the client’s ability to forgive herself, as evidenced by her higher scores on the HFS after completing the therapy. The study reveals the critical role of forgiveness interventions in addressing emotional pain, particularly self-blame, in the aftermath of traumatic life events like divorce. Findings also highlight the therapeutic potential of structured forgiveness programs to improve psychological well-being and life satisfaction. This case study contributes to the growing body of literature on forgiveness therapy and its application in trauma recovery.

Abstract

Long-distance relationships (LDRs) are often viewed as challenging in maintaining the quality of romantic relationships, especially among early adult women who are in the phase of seeking emotional stability and long-term commitment. This study aims to explore relationship satisfaction among early adult women engaged in long-distance relationships. The study employed a qualitative phenomenological approach with purposive sampling, involving four women aged 25–30 years who had been in LDRs for more than one year. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and nonverbal observations, then analyzed using data reduction and thematic coding techniques. The results show that although participants faced limited face-to-face interaction and risks of miscommunication, relationship satisfaction was maintained through effective communication, trust, and commitment. Supporting factors included problem-solving ability, partner attentiveness, and emotional understanding. Communication technology played an important role in maintaining emotional closeness. Participants viewed LDRs as a stage toward more serious, marriage-oriented relationships.
