Abstract

Abstract

Agro tourism is the community-based tourism activities that utilize the agricultural business as a tourist attraction that has many positive impacts which can improve the economy of society, especially in the form of society’s income, open employment opportunities and business opportunities (entrepreneurship). This research aim was to develop the concept of agro tourism in the largest coffee producing area in Malang Regency that is in Amstirdam (Ampelgading, Sumbermanjing Wetan, Tirtoyudo, and Dampit). This study used a qualitative approach by observing the four areas to see the potential of each region. SWOT technique was used to analyze data and the results showed that Dampit is one area that has more potential attractions than other regions. One area in Dampit that has the potential to be developed into agro tourism is Kampung Kopi Amadanom. The results of this research indicated that the effort for developing Kampung Kopi Amadanom was still not maximal due to the lack of local government support and also lack of quality supporting resources. This research suggested by using development model and applying appropriate strategy, it could provide and increase benefits not only for Kampung Kopi Amadanom but also for Malang generally. Keywords: Agro-tourism, Amadanom, Coffee Agro-tourism, Tourism.

Abstract

Red Islands Beach in Banyuwangi is included in the Provincial Tourism Strategic Area (KSPP). It is an example of the application on tourism management by the community, due to the existence of the community group (POKMAS). Increasing the number of tourists each year causes the need for a sustainable tourism development strategy that also involves the surrounding community to maintain environmental conditions that continue to be sustainable. So, this study aims to formulate a policy of developing sustainable marine tourism on Red Islands Beach in the Banyuwangi Regency. Data was obtained by conducting FGDs and distributing questionnaires to 10 key informants consisting of the Chairperson of Pokmas, the Homestay Manager, the Chairperson of BUMDES in Sumberagung Village, Academics, Ecoranger, Restaurant Managers, and the Management of Waste Banks. The data was analyzed using a SWOT analysis strategy to describe internal factors (IFAS) and external factors (EFAS). The results of the scoring IFAS showed the value of the Strengths (3.337) and weaknesses (2.979), while external factors showed value of opportunity (3.135) and threats (3.224). The strategy that can be applied based on this analysis is Concentric Diversification Strategies. These strategies focus on adding products and services related to the tourism destination, which uses Weakness and Threat (W-T) components. This strategy will overcome weaknesses and minimize threats on Red Islands Beach. Some points that can be carried out in this strategy are increasing human resources, providing education to the community, and negotiating with other interested parties in the Marine Tourism Region of Red Islands Beach. Keywords: Red Island Beach, sustainable tourism, SWOT.

Abstract

This study sought to understand the relationship between destination competitiveness factors (such as the tourist’s image, service quality, satisfaction) and behavioral intention. Little empirical research has explored these relationships from the heritage tourist’s perspective. A mixed method was used to achieve the study’s objectives and test the conceptual model. Twelve in-depth interviews and 400 questionnaire surveys (international and domestic) were conducted using purposive technique sampling. A structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was applied to identify, evaluate and develop the dimensions and test the relationship between these dimensions simultaneously. The final model showed that service quality has a significant relationship with satisfaction but an insignificant relationship with behavioral intention. In addition, this study provided new insights, determining that destination image and service quality factors influence destination competitiveness via the mediating of tourists’ satisfaction in a heritage tourism context. This shows the importance of destination image and service quality for measuring competitiveness. This present model will be useful as a guide for future research for measuring destination competitiveness in the heritage tourism context. Understanding destination competitiveness factors will help marketers predict future travel behavior and develop effective strategies in order to compete with other destinations. Keywords: destination image, satisfaction, service quality, behavioral intention and destination competitiveness ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berusaha memahami hubungan antara faktor daya saing destinasi (seperti citra destinasi, kualitas layanan, kepuasan) dan niat perilaku.

Abstract

The development of global tourism in recent decades has received exclusive attention from a number of government elites and continues to experience significant growth. Analyze tourism development in Kemiren Village based on tourism components (4A - attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillaries).  The type of research that will be used is qualitative descriptive research. Descriptive research is research that is carried out to determine the value of independent variables, either one or more variables (independent) without making comparisons, or linking with other variables.  The forest was cleared to be used as a village of Kemiren Village and led by a Village Head named Marjana alias Walik. Kemiren Village still shows a socio-cultural life system that carries the traditional values of Osing. Kemiren Village was designated as a tourist area for the Osing traditional village by the Governor of East Java Basofi Sudirman.  The conclusion is that tourism development in Kemiren Village has fulfilled all components of tourism, namely attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillaries (4A).  Attractions or attractions in Kemiren Village are developed from their main potential, namely from the socio-cultural aspect in the form of customs that are still strongly embraced among the community.
