Abstract

Recent advancements in radiology applications have led to user-friendly interfaces, improving pneumonia diagnosis by accurately differentiating between viral and bacterial pneumonia from thoracic X-rays. This approach enhances diagnostic precision and efficiency while offering intuitive real-time interaction for radiologists. This study aims to achieve two objectives: (i) developing a desktop-based radiology reader application, and (ii) modifying the alexNet architecture for classifying pneumonia based on thoracic X-ray datasets with the output encompassing pneumonia and normal cases. The desktop application assists radiologists in efficient image analysis and is developed using python–Tkinter. Integrate enhanced of AlexNet models which has been modified to better differentiate. The modified alexNet includes changes like adding max pooling in specific blocks and adjusting hidden layer neuron count. The dataset consists of 7442 images, with 4484 positive pneumonia and 2958 normal images obtained from the Mendeley websites. The enhanced alexNet (EAM) model achieves impressive results: 95.36% accuracy, 95.34% precision, 95.28% recall, and 95.31% F1-score for classifying bacterial pneumonia.

Abstract

The rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has increased the demand for energy-efficient wireless communication systems and others under various environmental conditions. LoRa (Long Range) technology has attracted considerable attention due to its ability to support long-distance transmission with low power consumption. However, most existing LoRa network implementations rely on single-hop or non-redundant statistical routing to the gateway point, making them vulnerable to link degradation or node failure. This study enhances the statistical routing mechanism with path redundancy implemented on an ESP32 microcontroller and an SX1276 LoRa transceiver module to improve communication transmission. The network topology is modeled using graph theory, where each node is represented as a vertex and communication paths are represented as weighted edges based on the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). The primary and backup routes are derived from the minimum-weighted path in the graph. Experimental results show that incorporating path redundancy improves the packet delivery ratio (PDR) and maintains communication continuity during primary path quality degradation. The proposed approach demonstrates the feasibility of a reliable multi-hop LoRa network using statistical routing with graph-based path redundancy.

Abstract

The foundation of anthropology learning lies in the knowledge of the human skeletal system. As human skeletons have become increasingly difficult to obtain, complementary anatomy learning tools are needed. One innovation that can enhance students’ understanding of anatomy is the use of three-dimensional technology through virtual reality (VR). The use of VR in learning is expected to help students study anatomical structures in greater detail compared to relying solely on atlases or textbooks. This study employed a cross-sectional design involving 22 first-semester medical students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Mataram (FKIK Unram), focusing on osteology anatomy. Students were given the opportunity to study the skeletal system using the Oculus Quest 3 virtual reality device. The skeletal framework within the VR application was specifically designed for medical students, featuring Latin bone labels and adjusted to the undergraduate competency level. The study also evaluated students’ expectations, which were generally categorized as high, with a mean score of 4.18. Only one item was categorized as moderate, with a mean score of 4.00, likely due to the short duration of VR exposure. Overall, students demonstrated high acceptance and expectations toward the use of virtual reality as a complementary tool in anatomy learning.

Abstract

The reliability of data center infrastructure inherently depends on the stability of its electrical power supply. The primary issue faced by the partner, a tech and internet company in Mataram City, was the reliance on manual electrical monitoring methods that lacked responsiveness to power anomalies outside operational hours, posing a severe risk of enterprise hardware damage and costly downtime. This community service activity aimed to implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based AC power stability monitoring system while concurrently enhancing the technical capacity of the partner's IT staff. The execution methods comprised field observation, technology diffusion integrating Thera TEM-25 industrial sensors with a USR-DR302 Modbus Gateway into a PRTG Network Monitor dashboard hands-on technical training, and collaborative Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development. The results demonstrated an exceptionally high operational reliability, with a system uptime of 99.8268% and 100% data coverage at 60-second sampling intervals. The system successfully and precisely documented short-term voltage sag anomalies as low as an extreme 195.1 V AC. Beyond technical deployment, a tangible transfer of technology was achieved, empowering the partner's IT staff to independently interpret anomaly graphs and execute preventive measures. Furthermore, isolating the system architecture within a local intranet ensured optimal cyber security since critical data remains unexposed to the public internet. This digital transformation has successfully shifted the partner's maintenance paradigm from a conventional-reactive approach to a proactive, Condition-Based Maintenance strategy.
