Abstract

Budidaya buah melon (Cucumis meloL.) sebagai pengembangan holtikultura selain digunakan untuk konsumsi juga sebagai tanaman estetik tempat agrowisata. Wilayah pengembangan agrowisata ini terletak di Desa Lam Manyang, Aceh. Hal ini dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasar karena meningkatnya permintaan buah melon setiap hari. Dimana menjelang bulan ramadhan harga buah melon akan meningkat dari Rp. 15.000,- menjadi Rp. 18.000,-.Distribusi buah melon segar sebagian besar adalah ke Rumah Sakit Umum Zainal Abidin dan beberapa pasar lainnya. Kualitas buah melon dikategorikan sangat baik dan tinggi vitamin A sehingga layak di konsumsi oleh orang yang sehat dan dapat menyembuhkan penyakit degenerasi makula atau penurunan fungsi penglihatan. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk praktik langsungdengan metode konvensional dan hidroponik fertigasi sederhana dimulai daricara pembibitan, penanaman, perawatan dan pemanenan, sehingga menghasilkantarget luaranbuah melon dengan kualitas terbaik. Kualitas buah melon dengan metode hidroponik menghasilkan berat buah hanya 0,5 kg perbuah, namun dengan metode konvensional sangat baik yaitu ditandai dengan tebal daging buah dan bobot buah rata-rata 2,5 kg - 4 kg per buah.Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan budidaya buah melon mampu memberikan banyak manfaat dalam peningkatan pemanfaatan lahan serta pengetahuan untuk budidaya buah melon secara konvensional dan hidroponik.

Abstract

The resident was increased never be separated from the need for housing in the city. The land use was obtaining to make a house so that agricultural activities a difficult to carry out. These detentions were also experienced in the general public, especially in this service, the Gp. Beurawe society. This study aims to provide socialization to Gp. Beurawe society in Banda Aceh city for a catfish farming system in buckets using the aquaponics method. This system does not need to required land area, to a cheap, and easily system to everyone. This scheme was expected to be a solution to the problem of limited land, because the community around the service location has a condition of close to each other. Therefore, this community service activity needed to provide the better solution. This society activity apart from cultivating fish in buckets were a solution added for growing vegetables such as lettuce and mustard greens hydroponics system. The service method was carried out to provide education to the community at the Keuchik Office with assistance from a series of effective methods of distribution a bucket as well as hydroponic materials. The benefit of this services was obtaining knowledge for the people in Beurawe, especially around the City, regarding the application of the ''Budikdamber aquaponics'' system, namely fish farming in buckets in front of each house

Abstract

Metode Water Culture System (WCS) cocok diterapkan bagi masyarakat yang memiliki lahan terbatas. Dalam metode WCS, larutan nutrisi dan media tanam perlu diperhatikan. Saat ini masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh terutama di Kecamatan Kuta Alam masih banyak belum mengenal metode WCS untuk budidaya tanaman Brassica rapa L. (Pokcoy). Kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan untuk sosialisasi mengenai metode WCS di Kuta Alam, Banda Aceh. Teknik budidaya tanaman dengan metode water culture sytem (WCS) dilakukan dengan membandingkan penanaman metode DFT (deep flow technicue). Sistem WCS adalah teknik menanam tanaman holtikultura yang dimasukan kedalam Styrofoam yang sudah berisi netpot dan juga kolam yang sudah berisi air dan dicampuri oleh larutan nutrisi serta pompa celup yang dapat memberikan berikan oksigen ke dalam tanaman, yang berperan penting terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman untuk mencegah akar tanaman mengalami pembusukan. Arah pompa celup dibuat searah dengan jarum jam (kanan). Hal ini dilakukan untuk menjaga stimulasi peredaran oksigen. Mesin pompa celup yang terpasang dengan benar sebagai penyedot agar tidak masuk kedalam melainkan kearah luar, adanya gelembung-gelembung udara pada kolam yang menandakan terjadi proses penarikan oksigen dari luar ke dalam kolam tanaman pokcoy. Penggunaan sistem WCS sangat memberikan dampak yang baik bagi Ibu-ibu PKK karena dapat dilakukan oleh siapapun dan bersifat mudah serta ramah lingkungan. Hal ini merupakan alternatif menuju tercapainya suatu kondisi pertanian yang menyenangkan di Kota Beurawe Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) is an infectious disease induced the dengue virus from the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae, and transmitted the Aedes aegypti mosquito. This disease was known as DBD wherein an endemic disease especially in tropical Indonesia country. Using the natural ingredients as mosquito repellent could be an alternative reduce to used of the chemical mosquito repellent. The purpose of this dedication was to provide knowledge about DBD, and to introduce the aromatherapy candles with lemongrass and cinnamon as natural mosquito repellent ingredients as botanical insecticides. The method was used to direct demonstration in the Meunasah Deyah Village Community, Aceh Besar Regency. The observations before and after participants were given educated to made the aromatherapy candles as an alternative natural mosquito repellent ingredient to a renewable innovation, especially that economically profitable in the future. The aromatherapy candles were not damage the environment or constrain the health problems. Furthermore, the aromatherapy candles contained the compound of citronellol and geraniol established damage the brain nerves of DBD mosquitoes. The aromatherapy candle was provide an anti-stress, and calming the aroma sensation for humans. This innovation was easy for people to made, and it was not harm the skin and induced to side effects for humans and livestock community.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Karang Taruna sebagai organisasi kepemudaan memiliki peran strategis dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat desa. Namun, peran tersebut sering belum optimal karena keterbatasan akses terhadap pengetahuan dan teknologi tepat guna. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan Karang Taruna di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah melalui penerapan teknologi destilasi dalam mengolah tanaman sereh wangi (Cymbopogon nardus) menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi beberapa tahapan, yaitu persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, dan pendampingan. Kegiatan dilakukan secara partisipatif dengan melibatkan anggota Karang Taruna sebagai peserta aktif dalam setiap proses. Pelatihan difokuskan pada pembuatan dan pengoperasian alat destilasi sederhana, teknik produksi minyak atsiri, serta inovasi produk turunan seperti lilin aromaterapi dan Essential Oil. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam hal teknik destilasi dan pengolahan produk berbasis sereh. Penerapan teknologi tepat guna terbukti efektif, mudah dioperasikan, dan mampu menghasilkan minyak sereh dengan kualitas baik. Selain dampak ekonomi berupa munculnya peluang usaha baru, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat peran Karang Taruna sebagai agen pemberdayaan pemuda desa. Program ini berpotensi berkelanjutan melalui pembentukan kelompok usaha bersama dan pemasaran produk secara digital. Kata Kunci:  Pemberdayaan Masyarakat, Karang Taruna, Teknologi Distilasi, Serai Wangi, Inovasi Produk.  ABSTRACT Karang Taruna, as a youth social organization, has a strategic role in improving the social and economic welfare of rural communities. However, this potential has not been fully optimized due to limited access to knowledge and appropriate technology. To address this issue, a community service program was carried out to empower Karang Taruna members in Central Aceh through the application of distillation technology to process citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) into high–value economic products.The program was implemented through five stages: preparation, socialization, training, technology implementation, and mentoring. A participatory approach was adopted to involve Karang Taruna members actively in all phases of the activity. The training emphasized the fabrication and operation of simple distillation equipment, essential oil extraction techniques, and product innovation such as aromatherapy candles and essential oils derived from citronella. The program demonstrated a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and technical skills related to distillation and product processing. The application of appropriate distillation technology proved effective, easy to operate, and capable of producing high-quality citronella oil. Furthermore, participants successfully developed innovative derivative products that have strong market potential. The program also fostered entrepreneurial spirit and collaboration among youth members. This community service program successfully enhanced the technical competence and creativity of Karang Taruna members in utilizing local resources. The use of appropriate distillation technology not only improved economic opportunities but also strengthened Karang Taruna’s role as an agent of community empowerment. The initiative is expected to be sustainable through the establishment of local business groups and the digital marketing of citronella-based products. Keywords: Community Empowerment, Karang Taruna, Distillation Technology, Citronella, Product Innovation.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the creativity and productivity of the people of Piyeung Datu Village, Montasik District, Aceh Besar Regency through training in making tote bags using ecoprint techniques based on the use of local leaves. The community service program was implemented by lecturers and students of KKN Abulyatama University by providing counseling, demonstrations, and direct assistance to the people of Piyeung Datu Village. The implementation method included material presentation, ecoprinting practice, and ongoing technical guidance. The results of the activity showed an increase in the skills of participants in producing tote bags with unique and valuable local plant leaf motifs, which were then given the product identity "Topida (Piyeung Datu Tote Bag)". This activity not only encourages community creativity, but also opens up opportunities for the formation of ecoprint-based business units with product diversification. Thus, this PKM program has the potential to support local economic empowerment and improve the welfare of the people of Piyeung Datu Village in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Household organic waste management remains a significant environmental and economic challenge for small-scale farming communities. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to empower the Sejahtera Aceh Women Farmers Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani/KWT) through innovative utilization of maggots from Black Soldier Fly (BSF) and Tenebrio molitor (TM) as environmentally friendly and economically valuable alternatives for biofertilizer and animal feed. The program employed participatory methods, including socialization, technical training, hands-on practice, and continuous assistance in maggot cultivation and downstream product processing, namely Haggot Fertilizer and Waggot Feed. The activity involved 25 members of KWT Sejahtera Aceh in Seumereung Village, Aceh Besar Regency. The results demonstrated a substantial increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in converting household organic waste into value-added agricultural products. Haggot Fertilizer exhibited high nutrient potential, with 41% organic carbon and 9.8% potassium content, contributing to improved soil structure, water efficiency, and enhanced growth of horticultural crops. Meanwhile, Waggot Feed contained up to 40% protein, comparable to commercial pellet feed, indicating its feasibility as an alternative protein source for poultry and fish. In conclusion, this program successfully strengthened the capacity and independence of women farmers in sustainable waste management, reduced reliance on chemical inputs, and created new community-based economic opportunities. The initiative shows strong potential for replication and further development through advanced training, economic partnerships, and integration with sustainable organic farming programs.
