Abstract

Ternak unggas yaitu ternak itik merupakan ternak yang populer dipelihara oleh masyarakat Indonesia untuk menghasikan telur konsumsi yang mensuplai kebutuhan protein hewani yang potensial dengan harga yang terjangkau bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Para peternak banyak yang memelihara itik baik dalam sekala kecil (rumah tangga) atau pun dalam skala industri. Ternak ini mempunyai peran yang cukup penting dalam mendukung ketersediaan protein hewani. Dengan demikian, pemberdayaan masyarakat perlu dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dan berkesinambungan dengan melakukan kegiatan pelatihan teknis budidaya ternak unggas khususnya ternak itik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat peternak dalam budidaya unggas khususnya itik petelur dalam mendukung pengembangan kelembagaan melalui kelompok usaha peternakan. Peserta pelatihan diikuti oleh peternak itik di Kota Makassar sebanyak 25 orang. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode tatap muka di kelas lewat ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi, dan uji sertifikasi kompetensi. Hasil kegiatan telah menetapkan peserta pelatihan telah memiliki sertifikat kompetensi mandor farm unggas petelur dengan unit kompetensi adalah menerapkan prosedur keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja mampu melakukan biosekuriti, penyiapan kandang, pengelolaan itik fase starter dan grower, serta pengelolaan itik fase layer.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out how much antioxidant content combination maggot (Hermetia illucens), turmeric (Curcuma domestica) and Indigofera zollingeriana to be used as an alternative feed additive for poultry. This study used a complete randomized design with 6 treatments 3 replays using DPPH method with treatment P0 vitamin C (positive control), P1 (2,5% turmeric + 5% Indigofera + 25% larva BSF), P2 (2,5% turmeric+ 10% Indigofera + 20% larva BSF), P3 (2,5% turmeric + 15% Indigofera + 15% larva BSF), P4 (2,5% turmeric + 20% Indigofera + 10% larva BSF), P5 (2.5% turmeric + 25% Indigofera + 5% larva BSF). The observed parameters are antioxidant activity using orthogonal contrast tests and orthogonal polynomial tests. The results showed that the treatment had a very real effect (P<0.01) on antioxidant activity. Orthogonal contrast test results showed that the treatment of P0 (control) with the treatment of P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 had a very noticeable effect (P<0.01) on antioxidant activity. Further tests of orthogonal polynomials showed that the highest antioxidant was in the P5 treatment (2,5% turmeric + 25% Indigofera + 5% larva BSF) 115.67%. It was concluded that a combination of  25% larva BSF (Hermetia illucens), 2,5% turmeric (Curcuma domestica) and 5% Indigofera zollingeriana can be used as an alternative feed additive source of antioxidants for poultry livestock. Abstract

In order to raise super-native chickens without the usage of antibiotics, herbal plants with a phytobiotic function may be used as feed additions. This study aims to examine the effect of turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) given through drinking water on leukocyte differentials, AI antibody titers, and ND antibody titers as indicators of immunity status in super-native chickens. Five treatments and four tests, each with five super native chicks, were used in the experiment, which was carried out utilizing an experimental methodology. The treatment (P) given included P0 as a negative control (drinking water without treatment), P1 as a positive control (drinking water + 0.1 g/L PromuneC®), P2 (drinking water + 1 g/L turmeric flour), P3 (drinking water + 3 g/L turmeric flour) and P4 (drinking water + 5 g/L turmeric flour). All the data gathered for this study were evaluated using Analysis of Variance, and Duncan's test using SPSS version 25 was required if there were any significant differences. The 56-day-old AI and ND antibody titer reached a protective level where the best dose for AI antibody titer increase was 5 g/L of drinking water with AI log2 9.5 of titer and the best dose for ND antibody titer increase was 3 g/L of drinking water with ND log2 7.5 of titer. According to statistical analysis, the addition of turmeric powder to drinking water had no discernible effects on the mean of lymphocytes, monocytes, or eosinophils but had a significant impact (P0.05) on the mean of basophils. The treatment also had a noticeable effect on AI antibody titers (P<0.05) but had no noticeable effect on ND antibody titers. In conclusion, giving turmeric powder (Curcuma domestica) in drinking water is useful as an immunomodulator by maintaining normal levels of differential leukocytes, and increasing protection against AI and ND super-native chicken so it can be used as a natural feed additive.

Abstract

Pelatihan teknologi pengolahan silase jerami jagung dilaksanakan sebagai bagian kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Program Pemberdayaan Wilayah Kecamatan Patampanua Kabupaten Pinrang. Pelatihan pengolahan silase jerami jagung sebagai pakan sapi potong bertujuan untuk meningkatkan  keterampilan dan penguasaan teknologi petani peternak dalam hal pakan ternak. Tahapan kegiatan pelatihan pengolahan silase jerami jagung meliputi tahapan persiapan dan  pelaksanaan, dan pendampingan kegiatan. Dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan, respon peternak sangat tinggi. Peternak memahami dengan baik pengolahan silase jerami jagung sehingga terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peternak dalam usaha penyediaan pakan untuk sapi potong. Pelatihan silase jerami jagung berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta secara signifikan di semua aspek, terutama pada bahan fermentasi dan alat pengolahan, berkat pendekatan yang terstruktur.
