Abstract

This study was motivated by the low ability of third grade elementary school students in performing addition and subtraction. This condition was caused by learning activities that were still abstract and the lack of appropriate learning media. The purpose of this study was to improve students’ ability in addition and subtraction through the application of a contextual learning model assisted by a structured arithmetic board. This research used a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were third grade elementary school students. The results showed an improvement in students’ counting ability in each cycle. It can be concluded that the application of a contextual learning model assisted by a structured arithmetic board can improve students’ ability in addition and subtraction.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students due to limited student engagement in the learning process. This study aimed to improve mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the discovery learning model. This research used classroom action research conducted in two cycles, including planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were third-grade elementary school students. Data were collected through tests and observations. The results show that the implementation of the discovery learning model improves students’ mathematics learning outcomes gradually in each cycle. In addition, students’ participation in learning also increases. Therefore, it is concluded that the discovery learning model is effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low achievement of mathematics learning outcomes among second-grade elementary school students on fraction material, which is caused by conventional teaching approaches that tend to be abstract and do not sufficiently integrate students’ concrete experiences. The main objective of this study is to examine the effectiveness of a contextual teaching and learning model supported by concrete media in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes on fractions. The study employs a quantitative approach using a simple experimental design, with a total of 20 second-grade students as subjects. Data were collected through a one-group pretest–posttest learning outcomes test, which was analyzed by comparing the average scores before and after the treatment. The results of the analysis indicate a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the model, as evidenced by increased student activity, easier understanding of concepts, and the ability to relate the material to real-life contexts. Therefore, it can be concluded that the contextual teaching and learning model assisted by concrete media is proven to be effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade elementary school students, and thus can be recommended as an alternative teaching strategy that is meaningful and adaptive to students’ developmental characteristics

Abstract

This study aims to identify and understand the effectiveness of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in mathematics learning at elementary schools. The RME approach brings mathematics closer to the students' environment, allowing students to understand mathematics more accurately. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Through the SLR method, data collection can be carried out systematically, structurally, and planned. Data collection is done by reviewing all articles related to mathematics education within the period of 2016 – 2026. The articles used in this study consist of 10 national journal articles obtained from Google Scholar. Based on this research, it is known that Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is able to improve student learning outcomes and can enhance students' mathematical abilities. Through RME, mathematics learning in elementary schools tends to use contextual problems as a starting point for learning, allowing students to have mathematical problem-solving skills, develop critical thinking abilities, and increase student activity in the classroom

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji integrasi service learning dan experiential learning dalam penguatan nilai spiritual, sosial, dan lingkungan mahasiswa PGSD melalui pembelajaran kontekstual di Pura Anggreka Sari. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya pengembangan karakter holistik mahasiswa pada aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik berbasis nilai lokal dan keagamaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah mixed methods dengan desain deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ialah mahasiswa PGSD yang mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian dan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman di lingkungan pura. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi kedua pendekatan meningkatkan kesadaran spiritual, memperkuat nilai sosial seperti gotong royong, empati, dan tanggung jawab, serta menumbuhkan kepedulian lingkungan melalui kegiatan pelestarian dan kebersihan pura. Mahasiswa juga mengalami peningkatan refleksi diri dan kemampuan menghubungkan teori dengan praktik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Case-Based Learning (CBL) yang didukung aplikasi 3D Geometry terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen semu dengan desain post-test only control group. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Gugus II Karangasem yang berjumlah 110 siswa dari delapan sekolah dasar. Sampel ditentukan melalui teknik random sampling, sehingga diperoleh SD 4 Pertima sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan SD 1 Pertima sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah masing-masing 24 dan 22 siswa. Kesetaraan kedua kelompok diuji menggunakan nilai sumatif akhir semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Data kemampuan pemecahan masalah dikumpulkan melalui tes yang disesuaikan dengan materi yang diteliti, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial berupa ANAVA satu jalur pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok, di mana siswa yang belajar dengan model CBL berbantuan aplikasi 3D Geometry memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional (F = 40,583; sig. 0,000 < 0,05). Uji lanjutan menggunakan metode Scheffe juga mengungkapkan bahwa model CBL berbantuan aplikasi 3D Geometry memberikan pengaruh yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar.
