Abstract

This study aims to improve sixth-grade students’ conceptual understanding of Earth's rotation and revolution through the use of a concrete learning media called the Earth Rotation and Revolution Board (PAROREB). The research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ understanding. The average pre-test score of 53.57 increased to 68.21 in the first cycle and 82.50 in the second. The percentage of students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) rose from 35.7% in the pre-cycle to 42.85% in cycle I and reached 85% in cycle II. PAROREB proved effective not only in enhancing learning outcomes but also in fostering active participation and student confidence during the learning process. Thus, this media can serve as a relevant and efficient alternative for teaching natural science topics in elementary school, particularly Earth’s rotation and revolution.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve students’ understanding of cultural diversity in Indonesia, particularly regarding ethnic groups and culinary traditions, through the use of the Indonesian Ethnic and Culinary Map Media (META SUKI). The study was conducted in two cycles with fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 065853 Medan. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected using tests, observations, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes. The average score increased from 57.25 in the pre-test to 70.25 in the first cycle post-test, and further to 78.75 in the second cycle post-test. The percentage of students achieving the minimum passing grade (KKM) improved from 30% to 80%. These findings indicate that the use of META SUKI media effectively enhances students’ cognitive understanding, engagement, and motivation in learning about Indonesia's cultural richness. The media also supports multisensory learning and fosters collaboration and active participation among students.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve second-grade students’ conceptual understanding of money value at SD Negeri 065853 Medan through the use of the "Bolon Cafe" learning media. The study was conducted in two cycles, each involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. “Bolon Cafe” is a culturally-based concrete media inspired by Batak Toba traditional food, incorporating role-play and money simulation activities. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes. The average test scores increased from 56.68 in the pre-cycle to 67.04 in the first cycle post-test, and to 80 in the second cycle. The mastery percentage rose from 36% to 80%. The application of this media not only enhanced students’ cognitive understanding of the concept of money but also promoted active engagement, collaboration, and improved affective and psychomotor domains. Thus, "Bolon Cafe" has proven to be an effective and contextually relevant instructional tool in Indonesian language learning at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of the concept of cultural diversity in Indonesia through the implementation of the Cultural Diversity Map media in Grade II of SD Negeri 065853 Medan. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ comprehension after using the map media. The average post-test score increased from 67.25 in cycle I to 80.22 in cycle II, and learning mastery rose from 59.09% to 82%. The Cultural Diversity Map was proven to be effective in providing a concrete and enjoyable learning experience, while also supporting the visual and kinesthetic learning styles common in elementary school students. These findings suggest that the use of map media is an appropriate alternative in teaching Pancasila Education, especially on cultural diversity topics in primary schools.

Abstract

This research presents the development of a smart monitoring system for real-time tide observation using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system is designed to monitor sea level fluctuations continuously and transmit data wirelessly to a cloud-based platform for remote access and analysis. The hardware consists of ultrasonic sensors for water level measurement, a microcontroller for data processing, and wireless communication modules for data transmission. The collected data can be accessed through a web-based dashboard or mobile application, enabling users to monitor tidal patterns from anywhere at any time. The system also incorporates alert notifications when water levels reach predetermined thresholds, providing early warning capabilities for coastal communities. Testing results demonstrate that the system can accurately measure tidal changes with minimal error and successfully transmit data in real-time. This IoT-based tide monitoring system offers a cost-effective and efficient solution for oceanographic observation, coastal management, and disaster mitigation applications. The implementation of this technology contributes to improved maritime safety, fishing activities planning, and environmental monitoring in coastal areas.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan penting yang harus dikembangkan di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar, tetapi kenyataannya kemampuan tersebut masih tergolong rendah pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 030306 Barisan Nauli. Dari hasil pengamatan awal serta tes pra-siklus, rata-rata nilai kelas diperoleh sebesar 44,07 dengan tingkat ketuntasan belajar yang masih rendah. Kelemahan yang paling mencolok terlihat dalam kemampuan melakukan manipulasi matematika sekaligus kemampuan menyusun kesimpulan dari proses penyelesaian masalah. Keadaan ini menunjukkan perlunya langkah perbaikan melalui penerapan model pembelajaran yang lebih melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang didukung oleh penggunaan diagram visual sebagai alat bantu untuk memahami konsep. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model siklus yang terdiri dari dua siklus tindakan. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah 18 siswa kelas IV. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes uraian yang terdiri atas 15 butir soal, observasi saat pembelajaran, serta dokumentasi sebagai data pendukung. Data yang berhasil dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dengan menghitung persentase ketuntasan belajar secara keseluruhan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa secara bertahap setelah penerapan tindakan pembelajaran. Tingkat ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 16,67% pada tahap awal menjadi 61,11% pada siklus pertama, dan mencapai 88,89% pada siklus kedua dengan nilai rata-rata kelas sebesar 82,35. Di samping itu, keterampilan manipulasi matematis siswa juga menunjukkan kemajuan yang cukup berarti. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, penggunaan model Problem Based Learning yang dipadukan dengan visualisasi diagram dianggap efektif dalam mendukung siswa memahami konsep matematika dan meningkatkan kemampuan berargumentasi dengan lebih baik

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan suatu proses pengembangan diri individu dari kepribadian seseorang yang dilakukan secara sadar dan penuh tanggung jawab untuk dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap serta nilai-nilai sehingga mampu menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model Think Talk Write (TTW) Pada Pelajaran IPAS  di Kelas V SD Negeri 030328 Bandar Huta Usang. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang  dilaksanakan  dalam  dua  siklus  yang  meliputi  tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPAS. Siswa sudah serius dalam mengerjakan tugas kelompok, siswa mampu bekerjasama dengan baik bersama teman kelompoknya, siswa sudah mampu menghargai pendapat teman, tidak terlihat lagi sifat keegoisan siswa didalam kelompok dan siswa sudah sangat percaya diri dan terampil dalam mempresentasikan hasil diskusi kelompok. Selain itu,hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan  pada  setiap  siklus  pembelajaran. Dengan demikian penerapan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPAS di KelasV SD Negeri 030328 Bandar Huta Usang.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of the school environment on the academic performance of elementary school students. A quantitative approach utilizing multiple linear regression was employed to evaluate the relationship between school environment factors (facilities, climate, and teacher support) and academic exam results. The research findings indicate a significant effect of the school environment on students' academic achievement. School facilities and teacher support were proven to contribute the most to academic achievement. The results of this study emphasize the importance of improving the quality of school facilities and teacher support in an effort to enhance students' academic achievement. For future research, it is recommended to explore other factors that may potentially influence academic outcomes, such as family and individual aspects
