Abstract

Ranking of a tertiary institution, both state and private universities, can be the basis of the tertiary institutions of interest to prospective new students. The better the ranking of the college, the more popular the campus. In this study the author discusses the case of campus ranking in the city of Medan where the results to be received are the best campus decision making with the method used is the MAUT (Multi Attribute Utility Theory) method. The aim is to see what results can be given by using the MAUT method in determining the best campus in the city of Medan which results in ranking the campus in Medan. Does it provide optimal results or not. But every case that is solved using the methods in artificial intelligence, in this case the MAUT method is a method of the Decision Support System, certainly provides optimal results even though the results given are not complete or complete. Therefore, the writer has a vision going forward, conducting research in this field, especially for the case of campus ranking. In this study the variables used in determining campus ranking are Institutional, Student Activities, Lecturer HR, Research and Community Service, and Innovation. These five variables in the future can be added or subtracted as needed. The results obtained are optimal ranking results but are still limited to the reference model for internal institutions.

Abstract

Bin Packing Problem merupakan permasalahan kombinatorial yang menggambarkan bagaimana sekumpulan objek atau benda dengan ukuran yang berbeda-beda dikemas kedalam suatu wadah dengan ukuran yang telah ditentukan. Dengan ukuran yang berbeda-beda tingkat kesulitan yang dihadapi adalah bagaimana mengoptimalkan jumlah pemakaian wadah untuk mengkemas objek-objek tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode Heuristic yaitu Genetic Algorithm dan Firefly Algorithm diharapkan mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan Bin Packing Problem. Genetic Algorithm merupakan metode yang diadaptasi dari genetika dan evolusi alami yang didalamnya terdapat parameter-parameter bawaan dari genetika alami. Sedangkan Firefly Algorithm merupakan metode yang diadaptasi dari perilaku kedipan cahaya kunang-kunang pada malam hari. Didalamnya terdapat aturan-aturan yang menyatakan kunang-kunang akan mendekati satu atau lebih cahaya yang paling terang. Pada tulisan ini, penulis akan membahas mengenai komparasi hasil yang diberikan oleh Genetic Algorithm dan Firefly Algorithm dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan Bin Packing Problem satu dimensi. Dengan tulisan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan sumbangan pengetahuan tentang penggunaan metode-metode heuristic dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan kombinatorial khususnya permasalahan NP-Problem.

Abstract

Data security is most important today, because the rampant data theft resulting in a lot of misuse of data by irresponsible parties so that it makes us anxious as data owners, for data storage it is usually stored in the database. From these problems the idea emerged to create a cryptographic system where the system can secure data by encrypting and decrypting also make data fully save and then the data owned by the user. This study aims to secure the data in the database by encrypting the original data without destroying the original data when later after decrypted. To perform this security, a cryptographic methodology is used with both of  method that is Vigenere Cipher and Triangle Chain Cipher algorithms which are implemented in the application because both of methodology have same root that is classical cryptographic. This application will later be used as a medium for users to secure their data in the database so that later data theft will not to be easy. After doing fully research that produces applications that can implement combination of Vigenere Cipher and Triangle Chain Cipher algorithms,data in the encrypted database field is safe because encryption has been done to the data.

Abstract

Beaufort cipher merupakan salah satu algoritma classic yang merupakan pengembangan dari vigenere cipher. Pada penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan algoritma beaufort cipher dan vigenere cipher pada aplikasi mobile berbasis android sebagai tools yang mampu mengamankan dan merahasiakan pesan teks serta mengetahui tingkat keamanan dan kerahasiaan menggunakan beaufort cipher dan vigenere cipher. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi vigenere cipher dan beaufort cipher mampu mengamankan suatu pesan menjadi pesan rahasia. Vigenere cipher dan beaufort cipher dapat berfungsi dengan baik saat dikombinasikan. Aplikasi dapat berjalan dengan baik di smartphone android. Aplikasi dapat mengenkripsi dan mendekripsi pesan menggunakan kombinasi vigenere cipher dan beaufort cipher.

Abstract

In terms of maintaining goldfish there are several factors that must be considered such as water temperature, pH levels and feeding that must be considered. Traditionally, checking the condition of aquarium water is carried out routinely by paying attention to water color and odor, traditional methods still lack accuracy and time efficiency. In the handling of feeding, it is classified based on the time of feeding for goldfish. Therefore, an automation system is needed in this case to overcome the accuracy of checking and feeding routines. By utilizing a microcontroller system that is connected to a temperature sensor, pH sensor, servo motor, RTC and Fan. The pH sensor detects the pH of the aquarium water when the aquarium water is low the pH lowering servo activates immediately. If the pH is detected as high, the pH lowering servo will be active. The temperature sensor detects the aquarium water temperature, if the aquarium temperature is more than 30 C then the Fan will turn on, and when the temperature is back to normal, the Fan will turn off automatically. The RTC reads the feeding time on the Arduino Uno program, when it enters the feeding schedule, the feed servo will move 180? to pour the feed

Abstract

The world was shocked by the outbreak of a new virus that originated in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province in China and has spread to all corners of the world. This virus is Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). The government as a policy maker has imposed new regulations so that everyone can leave the house and do work without having to worry about being exposed to the Covid-19 virus. One of the regulations made by the government is that everyone who will leave the house must wear a mask. However, the use of masks for a long time has the potential to cause headaches to increase respiratory tract resistance caused by carbon dioxide. It is necessary to have a mask that can filter the air properly so that carbon dioxide can come out of the mask directly and not be inhaled again. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to make a tool that can make air or carbon dioxide out of the mask. With existing technological facilities, the problem of breathing in carbon dioxide in masks can be minimized. One example is the MG811 sensor technology where this technology can detect the presence of carbon dioxide in the mask that comes out of human breathing. Based on this, this study discusses the automatic air filter system on an Arduino-based mask. The result of testing and implementing this system is that when the sensor detects excess carbon dioxide in the mask, then the supporting component of the system, namely the fan, will work to remove carbon dioxide in the mask.

Abstract

SMEs or Small and Medium Enterprises are business units that have an important role in the development of national economic growth, and are able to absorb labor in the processing and distribution of production results. The products of UKM are able to help the people's economy which becomes a new field of work. However, the obstacle in the business processes of these SMEs is the difficulty in getting the right consumers so that production results are not sold and cause losses. This problem is caused by the lack of good and appropriate promotion of the products of these SMEs. So we need a means or media so that these SMEs can properly promote their production results. For this reason the writer and the team carry out training activities for SMEs in the village of Bukit Lawang, Bahorok District, North Sumatra in the use of social media as a means of promoting production results. The training was held to be able to provide knowledge to SME entrepreneurs in promoting the results of their businesses appropriately to consumers through social media. Where social media is the most popular and very cheap promotional media at the moment.

Abstract

Kehidupan akademik tidak dapat lepas dari kegiatan publikasi artikel ilmiah. Meningkatkan kemampuan dan wawasan dosen serta mahasiswa dalam menulis artikel ilmiah menjadi motivasi tersendiri dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Tuntutan berupa publikasi artikel ilmiah dalam ranah nasional mapupun international bagi dosen seperti pelaporan beban kerja dosen, persyaratan kepangkatan dosen, persyaratan melanjutkan studi (dari S1 ke S2 atau dari S2 ke S3), persyaratan menyelesaikan studi (salah satu syarat dalam menyelesaikan studi S2 dan S3), persyaratan mengambil ijazah bagi mahasiswa S1, persyaratan wisuda, serta luaran penelitian maupun luaran pengabdian selalu tetap membutuhkan kemampuan dalam menulis artikel ilmiah. Maka dari itu tim pengabdiaan yang beranggotakan penulis, dkk melakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan tema kiat jitu menembus jurnal internasional bereputasi, optimalisasi mendeley, dan grammarly yang dilaksanakan dalam bentuk webinar dan diselengarakan oleh program studi teknik informatika UISU. Peserta pada kegiatan ini tidak hanya berasal dari kalangan mahasiswa dan akademisi saja melainkan dari kalangan umum, dan berasal dari dalam dan luar kota Medan, bahkan ada dari luar Provinsi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan secara daring karena masih dalam masa pandemic, walaupun terbatas dengan tempat dan waktu, namun tim pengabdian dan peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti acara webinar. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa minat dan kebutuhan dalam menulis publikasi ilmiah sangat besar dan kebutuhan pada pembimbingan penulisan karya ilmiah juga sangat besar.

Abstract

College ranking is the main thing used as a basis to attract prospective new students. Prospective new students will generally look for related information from which universities are the best to choose in the future. In the ranking of universities based on the official page of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the ranking of universities, both public and private, can be a reference for recruiting prospective students. The better the college ranking, the more attractive prospective new students are. To determine the ranking of a university, a decision support system is needed. There are many methods available from the decision support system, but in this study, the author will use the VIKOR method (Visekriterijumsko Kompromisno Rangiranje), which is part of the MCDM (Multi-Criteria Decision Making), as a solution to these problems. The VIKOR method is a multi-criteria optimization method that can be used on fairly complex systems. In this study, the sample data used came from 10 universities in the city of Medan, where the initials of each naming were colleges A to J. From the results of research analysis using the VIKOR method, the ranking results were as follows, where college B got the first rank with the lowest score of 0. Then the second rank was college G and in the third rank was college H with each score of 0.248211396 and 0.304702661. For the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh to tenth ranks, they are sorted from colleges A, I, C, E, F, D, and J.

Abstract

Online ojek is a transformation from a base ojek that uses a motorbike as a means of transportation. Online motorcycle taxis are the latest public transportation trend in society. This can be a transportation solution in Indonesia, especially in big cities that experience congestion. But unfortunately now there are still online motorcycle taxi drivers who do not care about the quality of service they provide to customers. Therefore, a system is needed that can determine the level of customer satisfaction with online motorcycle taxi services based on predetermined criteria. This study uses the Decision Support System concept using the ARAS method. ARAS method is a method based on the intuitive principle that the alternative must have the largest ratio to produce the optimal solution. The Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method performs a ranking by comparing the value of each criterion on each alternative by looking at the weight of each to get the ideal alternative.
