Abstract

The Jatinangoriense Herbarium is a teaching herbarium managed by the Biosystematics and Molecular Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padjadjaran University. It stores approximately 8,000 specimens, including collections of angiosperms, ferns, algae, fungi, seed collections, simplicia, and carpology. The herbarium serves as a facility for learning, research, community service, and plant identification services. In line with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, the presence of this teaching media plays an essential role in supporting the program as a means of developing digital teaching media and courses that focus on the competence of biocurators. This qualitative research employs the 4D model with four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The result is an instructional video on the techniques and management of the herbarium, which serves as one of the teaching materials in the Collection and Management of Biological Specimens course. Additionally, the MBKM program facilitates off-campus students by using digital learning facilities, encouraging universities to develop virtual museums and herbaria that can be widely accessed as sources of knowledge. The Bachelor's Degree Program in Biology at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padjadjaran University, provides students with the opportunity to learn and practice the development of a virtual herbarium through the Digitalization of Biological Objects course, utilizing various specimens from the Jatinangoriense Herbarium.

Abstract

In freshwater ecosystems, water temperature plays as an environmental factor that regulates its structure and function. A research on the impacts of changes in temperature to the dynamics of the Phytoplankton community structure has been done. Data from nineteen-year period (1995 to 2013) were collected from Cirata Reservoir as an example of artificial tropical lake in Indonesia. The research aimed to determine the changes of water temperature as the impact of climate warming on the dynamics of phytoplankton community structure. Different measures such as species richness, diversity index, and abundance were measured in order to understand the changes of phytoplankton community structure. Trend analysis, linear regression, and correlation were applied to achieve our objective. The study revealed that changes in water temperature have affected the species richness, but not the diversity index and abundance of the phytoplankton. Bacilariophyceae and Cyanophyceae were found as two predominant phytoplankton classes in the lake with percentage of 48,45 and 41,43 respectively, assuming their capacity to adapt the new environment. This study suggests that climate warming implies changes of the freshwater ecosystems.

Abstract

Pontianak Aloe Vera (PAV) is one of the plants in Indonesia that is used as an icon of the city of Pontianak. This plant is widely planted in Kalimantan and is known for its medicinal and cosmetic benefits. The method used is reference search through Google Scholar, Research Gate and other electronic media and then analyzed by descriptive method. The articles reviewed in Indonesian or English language, which published between 2010 to 2022, relevantly. Based on the research results, this plant contains various chemical compounds, such as aloemoedin, aloebarbadiod, vitamin C, collagen, polysaccharides, enzymes, and minerals that have the potential as cosmeceuticals. The products made from Aloe vera produced by the researchers are in the form of external use products in the form of gels, creams, lotions, liquid soaps, and so on for skin and hair care and the use of products orally in the form of powders. These treatment products are reported to have benefits as an anti-dandruff and hair growth stimulate. In addition, other benefits on the skin are maintaining moisture and hydration of the skin, as a sunscreen, stimulating the growth of fibroblasts to treat wounds after surgery, brightening the skin, fading wounds and acne scars, reducing the severity of acne and maintaining skin elasticity.

Abstract

Ramie has been widely used as a fiber crop for over 4000 years. The fibers are durable, white in color, and smooth in texture. Information on genetic diversity is important for selecting good breeding materials to produce superior offspring. This study aimed at determining the genetic diversity of Boehmeria nivea (L.) Gaudich. from Wonosobo and Malang using SSR as molecular markers. Nineteen accessions of ramie were analyzed for genetic diversity using 9 SSRs located adjacent to the gene associated with fiber yield traits. This study included the DNA extraction, amplification, and visualization of amplification. Data analysis included the allele number, frequency, PIC value, heterozygosity, Shannon information index, and AMOVA analysis. The results showed 229 alleles, with an average polymorphic percentage of 68.67%, the average allele frequency ranging from 0.07 to 0.11, an average PIC value of 0.84, and Jaccard's similarity score of 0-0.18. The He and Ho values in both populations were 0.719 and 0.278, respectively. AMOVA analysis revealed that 88% of the observed molecular variance was due to genetic differences within the population, whereas 12% of genetic variation was partitioned between populations. The present study showed high genetic diversity between Wonosobo and Malang ramie. This finding might support further programs for the fiber and biomaterial industry.

Abstract

Krisis tiroid merupakan kegawatdaruratan dalam bidang endokrin yang paling sering dijumpai dengan angka morbiditas dan mortalitas yang sangat tinggi. Tercatat kurang dari 10% insiden krisis tiroid dari total pasien tirotoksitosis yang dirawat di rumah sakit, namun krisis tiroid ini angka mortalitasnya sebesar 20-30%. Penanganan pada kasus ini dengan tujuan membatasi produksi hormon tiroid yang berlebihan dengan cara menekan produksi atau merusak jaringan tiroid. Jenis penelitian ini adalah laporan kasus yang cenderung memperhatikan permasalahan dan gambaran penatalaksanaanya terutama di RSUD R.A.A Soewondo Pati terhadap kasus yang ingin ditemukan. Subjek dalam laporan kasus ini yaitu seorang perempuan berusia 53 tahun datang ke IGD RSUD RAA Soewondo Pati dengan keluhan demam. Alat pemeriksaan berupa pemeriksaan fisik dan alat pemeriksaan laboratorium. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan menggunakan kriteria Burch dan Wartofsky. Hasil analisis diperoleh skor kriteria Burch dan Wartofsky thermoregulatory dysfunction 37,9C skor +10, cardivascular HR 112x/mnt skor +10, atrial fibrilation skor +10, congestive heart failure Absent skor 0, gastrointestinal-hepatic dysfunction moderate skor +10, central nervous system disturbance skor +10, precipitating event skor 0, didapatkan total skor >45. Pada pemeriksaan EKG didapatkan gambaran atrial fibrilasi. Pada pemeriksaan penunjang darah lengkap didapatkan trombositopenia, leukositosis, hiponatremi, hipokloremia, CKMB 45 (<25), TSH <0,10 (0,25-0,50), total T3 3,51 (0,9-2.33), total T4 195,9 (57,9-150,6), eosinofil 0,10 (2-4%), neutrofil 74,90 (50-70%), limfosit 14,2 (25-40%), monosit 10,70 (2-8%). Pengelolaan secara agresif dilakukan secara intensif dengan pemantauan ketat di intensive care unit (ICU).

Abstract

Kampung Cigumentong memiliki potensi yang besar dalam keragaman tumbuhannya, salah satunya tumbuhan obat karena bentang alam yang luas serta berada di tengah hutan kawasan konservasi. Tumbuhan obat di Kampung Cigumentong masih sering dijumpai di sekitar pekarangan, kebun, hutan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai jenis, pemanfaatan, pengolahan dan bagian yang dimanfaatkan untuk tumbuhan obat oleh masyarakat di Desa Cijambu sebagai bentuk pengobatan tradisional melalui pengetahuan fitokimia tradisional. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi langsung, wawancara semi-terstruktur, eksplorasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik yang dilakukan dalam pemilihan informan dalam wawancara semi-terstruktur adalah teknik snowball sampling dan purposive sampling dilakukan terhadap 5 KK. Analisis data kualitatif dilakukan dengan deskriptif analitis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 68 jenis tumbuhan obat yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Kampung Cigumentong yang terbagi ke dalam 39 suku dan didominasi oleh suku Zingiberaceae dan Asteraceae. Bentuk pemanfaatan yang sering dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Cijambu adalah wedangan yang diolah dengan cara direbus dan bagian yang sering dimanfaatkan adalah daun. Fitokimia tradisional diketahui melalui cita rasa di lidah, aroma yang khas dan sensasi yang dirasakan pada tubuh.

Abstract

Daerah Jatinangor secara umum dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan pertanian, permukiman dan industri. Peningkatan pemanfaatan lahan permukiman berpotensi mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas airtanah. Objek penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan sifat kimia organik airtanah pada akifer dangkal di beberapa jenis pemanfaatan lahan. Penentuan konsentrasi sifat kimia organik airtanah dilakukan dengan pengujian laboratoium KMnO4, BOD dan COD sebagai parameter yang menjadi indikator bahan organik di perairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan konsentrasi paramater kimia organik airtanah pada jenis pemanfaatan lahan permukiman dan industri terutama pada musim hujan.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Hipertensi merupakan urutan kedua dari 10 penyakit tertinggi dilihat dari perolehan data Puskesmas Sungai Andai sejak bulan Mei hingga bulan Desember dengan jumlah 765 kasus. Di tahun berikutnya, data kejadian hipertensi bulan Januari hingga bulan Maret dengan jumlah 536 kasus. Tujuan: Riset ini mempunyai tujuan mengetahui determinan kejadian hipertensi seperti umur, jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan, sikap, dan status gizi. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional dalam penelitian kuantitatif. Pasien yang berkunjung di Poli umum Puskesmas Sungai Andai sebagai tempat populasi yang diteliti berjumlah 1.481, dalam riset ini diambil sampel sebanyak 94 responden menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dengan rumus slovin. Kuesioner dipergunakan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara dan rekam medik. Analisa data menggunakan chi square test. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini ada hubungan umur (P-value = 0,000), tingkat pendidikan (P-value = 0,001), pengetahuan (P-value = 0,000), sikap (P-value = 0,000), status gizi ( P-value = 0,016) dengan kejadian hipertensi di Puskesmas Sungai Andai. Tidak ada hubungan jenis kelamin dengan kejadian hipertensi di Puskesmas Sungai Andai (P-value = 0,711). Simpulan: Saran bagi masyarakat untuk secara rutin memeriksakan tekanan darahnya ke pelayanan kesehatan, menjaga pola makan juga pola hidup sehat. Untuk Puskesmas Sungai Andai bisa lebih memfokuskan program promosi kesehatan mengenai hipertensi.

Abstract

This research identifies and evaluates the key success factors for Triple Helix collaborations (academia, industry, and government) from the perspective of the industrial sector. The research is contextualized within an industry-driven Open Innovation model, where 19 national-scale companies, including state-owned and private enterprises, partner with the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) to address industrial innovation challenges. Within this framework, LPDP and its industry partners invite university research teams to compete for funding based on industry-proposed themes. Primary data were collected through an online survey of 107 industry professionals, representing diverse hierarchical levels (from staff to top management) across strategic sectors such as energy, agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, defense, and telecommunications. Respondents assessed 21 success factors using a 1-to-10 Likert scale. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS to calculate the mean rank of each factor, which were then categorized into five levels of importance. Concurrently, qualitative data from open-ended questions were visualized as a word cloud using NVivo. The principal findings indicate that industry prioritizes transparency (the absence of hidden agendas), knowledge sharing, and the alignment of research objectives with realistic implementation pathways. Furthermore, qualitative results emphasize the need for government support to simplify product certification regulations and recommend market potential analysis to enhance research commercialization. This study offers crucial managerial implications for all Triple Helix stakeholders by identifying the most decisive factors in fostering successful and impactful collaborations.

Abstract

The Arboretum Universitas Padjadjaran, as a living collection or museum, is a valuable educational resource for science education, promoting hands-on activities, student-centered learning, and rich social interaction. Aligned with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, the arboretum can be integrated to develop learning innovation, particularly in the “Digitalization of Biological Objects,” which leads to bio-curators’ competencies. Visual arts can be an excellent strategy for learning science, as it combines systematic work with creative thinking. Through this approach, the students can apply theory to real-life experiences. This study aimed to utilize the Arboretum Universitas Padjadjaran to implement innovative strategies for effective learning in higher education through exhibitions. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method. “ARBOR: The Art and Beauty of Universitas Padjadjaran’s Pollinator” is a photography talk show and exhibition providing information about pollinators, food plants, and host plants in the arboretum and surrounding campus. A total of 135 curated photographs were exhibited digitally. During the exhibition, the students guided over 250 visitors on pollinators and their role in the ecosystem. Our result shows that project-based learning, such as “ARBOR” exhibitions, increased awareness regarding biodiversity and environmental issues and enhanced the students' leadership, communication, creative thinking, innovation, and collaboration skills, demonstrating the inspiring potential projects in higher education.
