Abstract

The development of ICT in the industrial revolution 4.0 was very fast and unlimited, causing the importance of statistical literacy for mathematics students’ teachers as global citizens, and future mathematics teacher candidates to be able to interpret and criticize information before communicating it in various media. This study described Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in supporting the statistical literacy skills of mathematics students’ teachers. The method used in this research was a design research type validation study to support students' statistical literacy skills by implementing TPACK. Fourteen students who took the Basic Statistics course participated as subjects in this study. Three stages were carried out in this study, namely: the preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis to develop a learning trajectory through learning activities that had been designed through the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT). Data were collected using observations, interviews, video recordings, statistical project assignments, and tests. Data were analyzed and conclusions were drawn. The results of this study were a series of learning activities that are integrated with TPACK and can be used to support the statistical literacy skills of mathematics students’ teachers including activities: data awareness, statistical conceptual and idea, data presentation, and data representation. Local Instructional Theory (LIT) produced was useful in learning basic statistics to support the statistical literacy skills of mathematics students’ teachers.

Abstract

This type of research is descriptive to describe the development of learning videos using Canva in material relations and functions to support junior high school students' conceptual understanding abilities. The method used in this study is a design research type of development study. The research subjects were 28 students. This research was conducted through the preliminary stages and prototyping stages, including: self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field tests. Data were collected using walkthroughs, tests, questionnaires, and interviews. Walkthrough, test, questionnaire, and interview data were analyzed and presented descriptively. The results of the study show that learning videos developed with Canva are said to be valid and practical and have a potential effect to support students' conceptual understanding abilities with an average yield of 74.79% with the lowest achievement on the indicator of using, utilizing and selecting certain procedures or operations as much as 70% and the highest indicator is 81.67% in the item restating a concept.

Abstract

Current mathematics education should meet requirements that involve critical thinking skills, real-world relevance, the use of technology, and communication and collaboration abilities. In this regard, students need to have good numeracy skills, which involve the ability to use numbers and mathematical symbols in everyday problem-solving, such as calculations and data interpretation. Numeracy skills are important in shaping responsible and competent individuals. Additionally, problem-solving strategies are also at the core of mathematics teaching. Research has shown that the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) instructional model has positive consequences for mathematical problem-solving proficiency. With the CIRC model, students can effectively improve their numeracy skills and mathematical problem-solving strategies. This research was conducted using a quantitative method, t-test, and paired sample test. The research subjects consisted of 50 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Tungkal Jaya. Data was collected through documents, observations, and tests. Data analysis was done by conducting a paired sample t-test to assess the significance of the influence of CIRC learning on students' problem-solving competence. It is important to conduct further research involving larger samples and considering factors that may potentially affect learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the integration of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) when making teaching implementation plans and during the implementation of learning in basic statistics courses at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sjakhyakirti University. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the object being studied is the Learning Implementation Plan and the learning process carried out by the subject lecturers and researchers, student teacher candidates who teach basic statistics courses in the first semester are the subjects in this study, while data collection techniques by using interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the integration of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) is grouped into three parts which include the integration of technological knowledge (TK), namely the teaching plan that has optimized technology, the integration of pedagogical knowledge (PK), which includes the planning of teaching methods, and the integration of content knowledge ( CK) that is, the material is in accordance with the expected competence. The learning process produces four activities to support statistical literacy skills, namely data awareness (the importance of data in life and how to collect it), Statistics conceptual and Idea (managing good and correct data), representative data (presenting and visualizing data), and data interpretation (interpreting data to draw a conclusion)

Abstract

This study aimed to develop valid and practical mathematics learning multimedia in statistics material in junior high school based on ICT. The mathematics learning multimedia developed in this research were learning videos, virtual classes, and learning evaluations. Multimedia learning mathematics was developed using various applications/software, like Google classroom, Google forms, PowerPoint presentation slides, FastStone capture, Kinemaster, and then the learning video uploaded on Youtube. This research was conducted using the design research method and development study type. The stages of this research were the preliminary and formative evaluation stages, which consist of the expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field test stages. The subjects of this study were 40 students of class VIII at SMPN 17 Palembang. Data were collected by observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and walkthrough. The multimedia learning mathematics developed was declared valid and practical. Validity was seen from result of revising products based on experts’ assignments at the expert review stage in terms of context, construct, and language. Practicality was seen during the one-to-one and small group stages, where the multimedia developed was easy for students to use.

Abstract

Bernalar dalam perbandingan merupakan salah satu topik penting pada pembelajaran matematika SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan lintasan belajar materi perbandingan menggunakan konteks resep empek-empek dan bagaimana konteks tersebut dapat mendukung kemampuan bernalar siswa. Pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI). Subjek penelitian adalah 45 siswa kelas VII SMPN 55 Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah design research, dugaan lintasan belajar (Hypothetical Learning Trajectory) dikembangkan dari aktivitas pembelajaran menggunakan konteks resep empek-empek. Pengembangan secara teoritis dilaksanakan melalui proses interatif meliputi merancang aktivitas pembelajaran (preliminary design), melaksanakan pembelajaran (teaching experiment) dan melakukan analisis retrospektif (restrospective analysis) dalam rangka memberi kontribusi terhadap teori pembelajaran lokal (Local Intructional Theory) untuk mendukung siswa bernalar dalam perbandingan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui beberapa hal meliputi membuat rekaman video tentang kejadian di kelas dan kerja kelompok, mengumpulkan hasil kerja siswa, dan mewawancarai siswa. Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) yang telah dirancang kemudian dibandingkan dengan Actual Learning Trajectory (ALT) siswa yang sebenarnya selama pelaksanaan pembelajaran (teaching experiment) untuk menganalisis apakah siswa belajar atau tidak belajar dari apa yang telah dirancang dirangkaian pembelajaran. Analisis retrospektif terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan konteks resep empek-empek dapat mendukung kemampuan bernalar siswa SMP.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' conceptual understanding proficiency of twofold integral material through distance learning during the covid-19. This study use qualitative research with descriptive methods. The students' conceptual understanding proficiency was measured by indicators of concept understanding which consist of: 1) restating a concept, 2) presenting the concept in various forms of mathematical representation, 3) using, utilizing and selecting certain procedures or operations, 4) applying concepts and problem solving algorithms . The distance learning process is implemented using the WhatsApp application, google classroom, and google form. The subjects in this study were 63 students in the fourth semester of the 2019/2020 academic year Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires. The data were analyzed by reduction process, data display, and conclusion. The results showed that more than 70% of students understood the concept of twofold integral material through distance learning (PJJ) well, and students’ promblem about concept of twofold integral material which was influenced by internal and external factors that occurred during PJJ.

Abstract

Pemecahan masalah matematika merupakan satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki peserta didik untuk menyelesaikan soal-soal level Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik di Indonesia disebabkan salah satunya karena peserta didik belum terbiasa menyelesaikan soal-soal pemecahan masalah. Selain itu, dalam buku cetak, referensi, atau LKPD yang digunakan peserta didik belum berbasis pemecahan masalah. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) berupa pendampingan yang bertujuan untuk mendukung Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) Matematika dalam merancang LKPD berbasis pemecahan masalah yang dapat digunakan peserta didik. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMKN 1 Kayuagung, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir, Provinsi Sumatra Selatan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 23 Sekolah Menengah Atas dan sederajat dari Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Kegiatan pendampingan ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahapan yakni, tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pendampingan MGMP Matematika dalam merancang LKPD berbasis pemecahan masalah menunjukkan ketercapaian kegiatan sebesar 86,67%. Di mana indikator ketercapaian pelatihan tertinggi terletak pada materi PkM yang diberikan dalam bentuk kegiatan pendampingan MGMP Matematika dalam merancang LKPD berbasis pemecahan masalah telah sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta. Kegiatan PkM ini menghasilkan LKPD berbasis pemecahan masalah yang dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

Pemberlakukan pembelajaran jarak jauh sejak pandemic covid-19 menyebabkan harus dilaksanakan pembelajaran secara online. Video pembelajaran sebagai salah satu media belajar yang dapat digunakan selama pembelajaran jarak jauh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika peserta didik dengan dukungan dari video pembelajaran yang sudah dinyatakan valid dan praktis. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah 32 peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 17 Palembang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes, observasi dan wawancara. Hasil tes dianalisis untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika peserta didik setelah melalui pembelajaran jarak jauh dengan bantuan video pembelajaran statistika. Hasil tes menujukkan bahwa  Penggunaan video pembelajaran untuk mendukung kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh materi statistika didapatkan dengan persentase 70,3%. Dengan rincian persentase perindikator pemahaman konsep sebagai berikut : (a) menyatakan ulang suatu konsep dengan persentase 68,75%, (b) mengembangkan syarat perlu dan syarat cukup dari konsep dengan persentase 75% dan (c) mengaplikasikan konsep dan algoritma pemecahan masalah sebesar 67,85%.
