Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inflation persistence level of the spending group in Blitar Regency and the contribution of 11 commodities or goods/services groups to the formation of inflation persistence in Blitar Regency. In addition, this study also looks at the role of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) in controlling inflation in the regions. This study uses monthly inflation time series data and CPI for 11 commodity groups in Blitar Regency from 2020 to 2020 to 2020 s.d. 2022 obtained from the Blitar Regency Central Bureau of Statistics and publications from Bank Indonesia, the estimation method in this study uses the Univariate Autoregressive Model (AR) and Partial Adjustment Model (PAM) approaches. The results of the study prove that inflation in Blitar Regency has a high level of persistence which is reflected in the time it takes for inflation to return to its equilibrium level, which is 19 months. The persistence of inflation in Blitar Regency was influenced by shocks that occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel group as well as the transportation group as a representative of the administered prices component and the food, beverage, and tobacco group as a volatile food component. group. This research implies that this research can be used as a reference in determining the right time in determining policies by the government, especially in the regulated price group. In addition to controlling inflation in volatile food components due to shocks such as bad weather, TPID can collaborate with relevant agencies to use technology to minimize the impact of climate change and maximize the potential of regional superior products/commodities, and maximize production to maintain supply availability.

Abstract

This community service aims to help improve the community's food security by utilizing narrow land with hydroponic techniques. The land in the Pakal District, Surabaya City, is included in the narrow land caused by land use change. In addition, this community service provides real knowledge and skills on hydroponic planting procedures. The methods used are observation, discussion, simulation, and project-based mentoring. These simulations and mentoring activities consist of several activities, namely land cleaning, garden making, seedling cultivation, plant maintenance, and hydroponic plant harvesting. The results of the activities show that the program can be well implemented, as seen from the enthusiasm of the community to participate in opening the land and planting hydroponic plants from start to finish. The hydroponic land initially was neglected and poorly maintained. After this program, the previously neglected land was transformed into a beautiful garden, and the hydroponic land can be utilized by the surrounding community to grow vegetables or plants needed for daily life.

Abstract

This study investigates the perceptions of younger workers towards older workers in Srigonco Village, Malang Regency, Indonesia, amid a demographic shift characterised by a growing aging population. The research examines factors influencing older workers' re-entry into the labour market and the retirement preparedness of younger workers. Findings indicate a dual perception: while many younger workers value older employees for their experience and agricultural knowledge, they simultaneously express concerns about older workers' adaptability to new technologies and physical limitations. Specifically, 62.5% of respondents recognise that financial necessity drives many older workers to remain in the workforce, highlighting significant economic challenges. Moreover, 53.13% agree that older workers face discrimination and biases, which can hinder their employment opportunities. This research underscores the urgent need for inclusive labour market policies that accommodate the unique challenges faced by older workers while fostering collaboration between generations. Despite limitations in sample diversity and potential biases in self-reported data, the study emphasises the importance of intergenerational knowledge transfer for economic sustainability. Future research should adopt longitudinal and qualitative methods to gain deeper insights into the evolving dynamics between older and younger workers, focusing on effective policy interventions to improve employment outcomes for all age groups.

Abstract

Financial technology is very useful in facilitating financial transactions worldwide. It was created to make getting funds and managing finances easier, which can improve people’s welfare. However, it also poses a threat in the form of loans from financial technology lending companies that are not licensed and illegally operate so that customers can be bound by huge interest rates and terrorized by debt collectors. Therefore, this study aims to analyze literacy about financial technology and demographic factors that affect welfare. The analysis results show that most respondents are still ignorant or do not understand the benefits of fin-tech for improving their welfare, and the respondents’ welfare is only affected by age. Although 92% of respondents have savings, these savings do not use fin-tech. Fin-tech is still seen as something that plunges like a shark loan trap, so most respondents still avoid fin-tech for their financial management. Respondents still do not use fin-tech optimally and urgently need education and socialization related to fin-tech.

Abstract

The Tanusi Farmers Group in Sumberejo Village, Batu District, faced significant challenges in waste management and limited agricultural land, which hindered their ability to adopt sustainable farming practices. To address these issues, the SASIMI (Aquaponic System in Circular Economy) initiative was implemented. The system aimed to reduce waste by applying the 5R principles. It repurposed inorganic waste, such as plastic, as planting media in aquaponics and utilized maggots as biological agents to process organic waste into compost. The methodology of SASIMI included several stages, such as preparation, education on waste management and maggot cultivation, aquaponic system preparation, training on implementation and maintenance, sustainability training, and evaluation. The implementation of SASIMI yielded significant results. Maggot cultivation was able to establish 10 cultivation sites that process up to 20 kilograms of organic waste per month, converting it into compost. Additionally, 10 aquaponics systems were established, reducing 15 kilograms of plastic waste by repurposing it as planting media.  Economically, the circular economy approach contributed to reducing household expenses. The aquaponics systems provided a sustainable source of fresh produce, leading to a 22 percent reduction in monthly expenditures on vegetables for participating households.

This was done by using convenience sampling. The findings of the research show that there is a weakening of 1.5% per kilometers for property which is far away from JJLS. The highness price of the land influenced by some factors, such as land area (4,68%), the distance to CBD (0,0535%), the type of field land (3,65%), and the adequate accessibility (2,96%).
