Abstract

Financial inclusion is a global issue because it affects the economy and the fact that access to financial services in developing countries is still low. Indonesia's financial inclusion is categorized as low when compared to other ASEAN countries. The implementation of financial inclusion is still experiencing obstacles due to the limited number of banks closest to the place of residence and the distance of the nearest branch. The policy of the Government of Indonesia has established the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (SNKI) through Presidential Regulation No. 82/2016. The program is intended to help public authorities by reducing poverty and encouraging a comprehensive and viable economy. Therefore, this study has one of its objectives to determine the effect of economic growth, poverty, unemployment, income inequality, and domestic investment on financial inclusion in Indonesia. This study was conducted in 34 provinces in Indonesia, the data used was secondary data obtained from BPS and OJK and tested using panel data regression with STATA 14. The results obtained by the variables of poverty, income inequality and domestic investment have a significant effect on financial inclusion, while the variables of economic growth and unemployment have no significant effect on financial inclusion.

Abstract

The urgency of going digital increases due to mobility restrictions in many areas to retain market share, hence surviving the COVID-19 pandemic. The digital adoption process is not easy because it requires high cost and long-term commitment, so larger firms may lead in this case. Therefore, this study wants to identify what variables can affect the digital adoption process by MSMEs. We survey 2,169 MSMEs across Indonesia using clustered convenience sampling and investigate the determinants of digital adoption by MSMEs. Using the fixed effect model for estimation, we find that the severity of COVID-19 cases and the number of laborers have a significant positive correlation to the digital adoption process by MSMEs. We find that MSME in urban areas leads to the use of digital technology, and the service-based MSME has more urgency to do so. These results can help MSMEs, and the government makes policies related to digital adoption by MSMEs.

Abstract

Financial technology is very useful in facilitating financial transactions worldwide. It was created to make getting funds and managing finances easier, which can improve people’s welfare. However, it also poses a threat in the form of loans from financial technology lending companies that are not licensed and illegally operate so that customers can be bound by huge interest rates and terrorized by debt collectors. Therefore, this study aims to analyze literacy about financial technology and demographic factors that affect welfare. The analysis results show that most respondents are still ignorant or do not understand the benefits of fin-tech for improving their welfare, and the respondents’ welfare is only affected by age. Although 92% of respondents have savings, these savings do not use fin-tech. Fin-tech is still seen as something that plunges like a shark loan trap, so most respondents still avoid fin-tech for their financial management. Respondents still do not use fin-tech optimally and urgently need education and socialization related to fin-tech.

Abstract

Strengthening the local economy through the active role of the Women Farmers Group (KTW) by improving digital marketing technology skills is an effective strategy for developing rural MSMEs. Sidodadi Village in Malang Regency has several key agricultural commodities such as bananas, cassava, and corn, which are mostly processed and marketed by women’s MSME groups. However, several challenges remain, including limited institutional management capacity, lack of knowledge about digital marketing technology, and restricted market access, making it difficult for MSMEs to compete. This community service aims to assist the Women Farmers Group in improving institutional management capacity and digital marketing skills through training and mentoring activities. The program was conducted in Sidodadi Village using survey, socialization, and training methods, followed by evaluation. The evaluation results show that participants were enthusiastic, actively involved, and demonstrated improved understanding and skills in using digital marketing tools. The activity successfully encouraged the group to optimize digital marketing for the sustainable growth of rural MSMEs. Therefore, this service is expected to increase the efficiency of agricultural product marketing and positively impact community welfare and income.

Abstract

Many studies have identified the relationship between corruption and the socio-economic life of society. Generally, the results of research indicate that corruption is detrimental to the economy and society. Corruption can create burdens for society, companies, and the government. Therefore, the impact of corruption is calculated as a state loss. Corruption in the form of embezzlement occurs frequently in both the public and private sectors. Bribery and extortion are common in the public sector. Several studies related to corruption have identified the effects of corruption on social and economic life. Other studies have identified the implementation of corruption in the public and private sectors. This study will discuss the law enforcement of corruption. It identified decisions of law enforcement at the Supreme Court, specifically regarding corruption in the forestry sector. This study used content analysis to identify Supreme Court decision documents. The results indicate that a significant amount of corruption results from illegal land transfer and forest land ownership. The content analysis indicated that the Supreme Court's judicial system, particularly regarding corruption in the forestry sector, is quite fair. However, further analysis is needed regarding the sentences given to the defendants to decrease corruption.
