Abstract

Marriage tradition or mating ritual of Malay people especially in Petalangan Tribe at Betung Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency. There are some distinctions in the steps of the marriage ritual because of the culture varieties. In this research, the researcher investigates on how marriage tradition of Petalangan tribe in Desa Betung is done and the changes that happen in the stages of the ritual. This research uses social changes theory, with six persons as the respondents consisting of Batin (the village chief), Ninik mamak (the elder relatives) and people in the society who are involved in the marriage ritual either of two-Petalangan-tribe couple or Petalangan with other tribe couple. The research findings show that there are 17 steps in the marriage ritual of Petalangan tribe, starting with 8 pre-marriage steps, followed by 7 marriage steps and 2 post-marriage steps. In its procession, the marriage tradition of Petalangan tribe has undergone some changes. The changes happen because of some factors; (a) supporting factor – advanced system of formal education; and (b) materialism factor – the influence of other society cultures and cultural assimilations. These factors leads to the mixture of some traditions so that, like it or not, it compromises the marriage system of Petalangan tribe in many or less ways.Keywords: changes,tradition, marriage, Petalangan Tribe.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems in many emerging areas of practice mounting braces illegally because it did not have permission from related institutions on the establishment of this office and the personnel who handle was not derived from the experts that dentist and orthodontic specialist. The price offered was very cheap in comparison to prices offered by dentists so as to make people more interested in coming to this place compared to the dentist. Seeing the enormous interest in the communities terhapat existence of this practice makes the existence of such practices have sprung up everywhere. The purpose of this penelitaian to know how the business activities and the mounting braces to know the advantages and disadvantages derived from running this business. This study used qualitative research methods. The selected research locations are in Keluraahan Simpang Tiga subdistrict Bukit rayaKota Pekanbaru. This study determines the main subject amounted to 7 people. Data collection techniques, among others, the method of observation and interviews as well as dokumentasi.Adapun results of research on the business activities of the installation of these braces is the installation of braces illegal activity in the district of Bukit Raya has been running from 2010 and mushroomed across the region due to numerous requests from the public (consumers ) will be the installation of braces. Installation of braces illegal conducted by business owners with self-taught skills mempuni without harm consumers in terms of health and very dangerous for the health of your teeth and mouth. Therefore, for Pekanbaru City Health Department in order to curb illegal businesses braces installation operating in Bukit Raya subdistrict and other environment sub-kecaatan Pekanbaru. And expected business owners illegal installation of braces in order to obtain a business license and provide physician practices Orthodontist in order not to harm consumers.Keywords : Illegal, Orthodontist

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the level of community participation in the development of Ecotourism in Developing Sorcerer Nature and what factors hampered community participation in Kampung Suak Merambai, Bungaraya Subdistrict, Siak Regency consisted of four dimensions, namely planning, implementation, utilization of results and evaluation. The research method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. The sample in this study were 63 people using purposive probability sampling techniques. Data sources from this study are primary data and secondary data obtained from observations, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. By using an instrument measurement scale that is Likert scale. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics. Based on research shows that the level of community participation in the development of Ecotourism Growing Sorcerer in the Village of Suak Merambai, Bungaraya District, Siak Regency is included in the medium category in the aspects of planning, implementation, utilization of results, and evaluation. Keyword: Community participation, tourism development, ecotourism

Abstract

The work ethic is the character of a person or group of people in the form of will or willingness in work accompanied by high spirit to realize the ideals, while the contribution is money donation or support to help in the form of material that is the family economy. Here the authors take the Work Ethic and the Contribution of Housewife Scavengers to the Family Economy which the authors use descriptive quantitative methods using a simple random sampling technique sampling method in which respondents amounted to 86. The results showed that there are factors that affect the work ethic: 1) Skill Level, (2) Morale, (3) Productivity and also (4) Contributions of Housewives Scavengers, (5) Total Family Income. The number of women who work to help the family economy makes the work of housewife of high scavenger housewives is obtained based on the amount of contribution given by housewife that is equal to 39,8% with average income equal to Rp. 3,458,627. The lowest contribution given by housewife scavengers is 8.6% or Rp. 1,170,000 and the highest contribution of 66.8% or Rp.7.095.000 they earn only from scavenging activity by working over 7 hours and they are looking for the most easily collected garbage, they also sell the garbage once a week so they can making the distribution of waste by group, making it easy to sell based on the price of waste.Keywords: Working Ethic, Housewife Scavenger, Contribution

Abstract

The high level of "Abstentions" on the implementation of the elections had a warm conversation today. The purpose of this study was to determine the attitude of the form "Abstentions" and factor in the emergence of an attitude "Abstentions" Governor elections in the first round in 2013 in the village Ridan Permai Bangkinang City of Kampar District. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The sampling method that used was "Simple Random Sampling". Obtained a number of 123 respondents. For collecting data, the researcher used interview and documentation, for processing the data using descriptive quantitative method. Results of "Abstentions" in community has the following forms, namely attitude, the attitude of alienation, anomie, cynicism and apathy. The factors that encourage the emergence of an attitude "Abstentions" was a factor instrumental rational action, value of rational action, affective actions, as well as traditional measures. This study concluded that there should the improvement of public confidence towards the implementation of the elections by the committee that the Commission and political parties as participants in the elections, as candidates, leaders of political parties are carried.Keywords: Gubri Elections In 2013

Abstract

This Study was aimed to investigate the characteristic of female students who prefer toconsume fashion clothing trend that influenced by electronic advertising media and how much itcosts in a year. The population of this study were students of academic year 2012/2013. Whilethe sample of this research is the sociology students. Research sampling is done using simplerandom sampling technique in determining the number of respondents. Data collectiontechniques directly gained through deployment questionnaire as much as 40 questionnaires andnon-participant observation, which is not reach to the level of meanings. Meanings are the valuesbehind the behavior that looks to be spoken and written. The data obtained were then analyzeddescriptively. Then the obtained data were analyzed descriptively.The results of this study indicated that the behavior patterns of fashion clothing trendconsumption are influenced by television ads with the percentage of 32.5%, while the cost ofspending on clothing trend with the percentage of 50.0%, respondents by ages of 20 to 21 with55.0%, residential boarding students with the percentage of 77.5%.Keywords: Consumption Behavior, Trend Clothing, Expenditures, Electronic MediaAdvertising.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out about the Response of Society Program Desa Maju Inhil Jaya Village (DMIJ) in the infrastructure sector. Where the community response is seen from 3 (three) aspects, namely cognitive response, affective response, and conative response. Given this, of course, will give a different response to the Desa Inhu Inhil Jaya Program. This research was conducted in Desa Pekan Kami, Kecamatan Tembilahan Hulu, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. To get the right research results, the authors used a quantitative descriptive method that was presented in tabular form and completed in detail, with a total sample of 77 respondents. The results showed that there was no significant effect between cognitive response and affective response to conative response to planning, implementation and maintenance. This is caused by other factors, namely development imperfections and policies implemented by the Village Government in involving the community in every activity. Abstract

The implementation of Supervisor  is someone’s duty in an organization with responsibility to their position  namely arrange, control, and responsible to their own team or their employee. By Supervisor control, employee can work maximum  as well as the valid standart operasional produre The aim of this research is to know the implementation of  Restaurant Supervisor duties in FnB at Harris Resort Waterfront Batam, to know the implementation of Restaurant Supervisor duty on administration and to know the implementation of Restaurant Supervisor duty on operational. This research method is qualitative method. Key Informan of this research is one that is Restaurant Supervisor and four additional informan from Food and Beverage Service Departement namely FnB Captain, Waiter and  Bartender. The data collection are interview, observation and documentation. The result of this research will uncover the implementation of Restaurant Supervisor duties in Food and Beverage Service Departement at Harris Resort Waterfront Batam. It will also uncover the implementation of Restaurant Supervisor duty on administration like make a daily schedule, make monthly promotion, make puchasing request, market list and store request. Abstract

This research title is the Role of Traffic Police against the infraction of Standard Helmet usage at the Police resort Lima Puluh Kota of west sumatera Province. Basically, the people of Lima Puluh Kota have motorcycle and they have already known to use the standard helmet. This research is using a quantitative descriptive method . With aim to collect information and data concerning infraction of Standard Helmet usage, then analyze the data according to the fundamental problem. This research consists of two sources, those areprimary and secondary data source. The informant key of this research is the police. The theory used in this research is the theory of role, The finding of this researchis that people generally have known the rule of standard helmet usage.However, the awareness of self-safety is still less.In addition, the police have run their duty and role seen from the socialization which is often conducted.
