Abstract

This study will test and analyze the relationship between work ethic and the productivity of vegetable growers in Pauh District, Padang, West Sumatra. This area has a very high potential for vegetable cultivation, with an area of 181 hectares. There are no fewer than 468 farmers who grow different types of vegetables. To get the right research results, the authors used a descriptive quantitative method with a total sample of 47 people and conducted a correlation test using the SPSS program. Based on the correlation test conducted, it was found that the relationship (correlation) between work ethic and the productivity of vegetable growers was 0.698 and included in the strong category. These results also prove that the Ha hypothesis can be accepted with the statement "There is a link between work ethics and the productivity of vegetable growers in the district of Pauh, Padang, West Sumatra".  Keywords: Work Ethic, Productivity, Farmer

Abstract

This research was conducted in Koto Rajo village, Kuantan Hilir Seberang District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The sampling method of this research was the guided interview method which doing the direct observation. The data analysis method was done by the existing data was classified according to the main problem of this research. This data would be analyzed by descriptive qualitative by giving an overview of how the real condition was. The result of this research showed us that mostly of the respondents were 20 years old, Malay and Tigo Kampuong tribe.There were several factors that influenced the premarital sexual behavior, the first factor was sexual libido; a desire in doing sexual activity. For the women, sexual desire could be interpreted as an impulse of someone’s desire overall. The second factor was the maturity of marriage age, it was the efforts to increase the age of the first marriage, and therefore it could reach the minimal age; 20 years old for the women and 25 years old for the men. Besides, taboo was a social prohibition of the words, things, activities, and unwanted person in the tribe, culture, and society. The violation of the taboo usually unacceptable even interpreted as an attack. In addition, free social intercourse was one of the diverge behavior, where “free” meant beyond the boundaries of the oriental norm itself. Abstract

This research was conducted in Rabi Jongor Village, Gunung Tuleh District, West Pasaman Regency. This study aims to determine the implementation of the manopot kahanggi tradition in traditional Mandailing marriages in Rabi Jonggor Village, as well as to find out whether there are changes in the implementation of the manopot kahanggi tradition in Mandailing traditional marriages in Rabi Jonggor Village. The theory used is the concept of the theory of the Mandailing and Manopot Kahanggi tribes. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Researchers have prepared 4 research subjects and 1 key informant, namely the Adat King, and 4 people who have practiced the Manopot Kahanggi Tradition. Data analysis was performed using descriptive qualitative and data instruments were observation, interview and documentation. From the results of research in the field of Manopot Kahanggi Tradition, it is mandatory for prospective grooms to marry a woman from Rabi Jonggor Village, including the Marsapa Boru tradition; The Bond-Binding Tradition; and the Tradition of Giving Help. The Changes in the Implementation of the Manopot Kahanggi Tradition, including the Changes in the Implementation of Marsapa Boru; Change in the implementation of the binding; and Changes in the Implementation of Providing Assistance in accordance with the existing customary rules in the village. There are only changes in the time or day of its implementation, be it the tradition of Marsapa Boru, Ikat-Binding, and Giving Aid. KeyWords: Tradition, Marriage, Implamentation, Change

Abstract

Participation is a form of role and participation itself in the activity of planning and implementation to achieve the purpose of developing the society. The manifestation of community participation can be in the form of service, suggestion, or material either directly or indirectly. Likewise the beginner voters that can assist and participate in the implementation of Regional Head Election in 2018. This research was conducted in Pariaman City, West Sumatera Province. The purposes of this research were to know the participation manifestation of beginner voters in the implementation of Regional Head Election in Pariaman City in 2018 and to know the factors that affect beginner voters. Besides, this research also aimed to know how was the participation level of those beginner voters. This research used descriptive-qualitative method. In this research, the researcher used data collection technique such as Simple Random Sampling method. Data needs covered primary data obtained through filling the questionnaires and secondary data with total population were 717 respondents. In this research, the writer used slovin formula to obtain the number of samples in which the writer took precision level in the amount of 10% from total population. The research results show that the participation manifestation of beginner voters at Regional Head Election in Pariaman City in 2018 is in the form of being active to do the vote. At the category of participation manifestation, the beginner voters are at rank 7 in which it is at low category of participation level, and the percentage is 54,6%. While the factors that affect beginner voters to be active in joining the election activity is their knowledge about politics and the implementation of regional head election. The effect of respondents’ knowledge is 43%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the public perception of premarital sex behavior among adolescents and provide an overview of the factors that influence public perception . The basis of the research is a survey in the village Mungkur Island . The type of research is descriptive quantitative research is research that works with numbers further analyzed using statistics in accordance with the reality described . The collection of data through observation and interviews directly to the respondents . The sampling technique in this study using simple random sampling method ( simple random sampling ) . Sampling as many as 44 people ( 20 % ) of the 221 heads of household . The data has been collected from the results of the study were processed using frequency tables with percentages . The results showed that the majority of people perceive premarital sex behavior as a phenomenon which is common , this is because people have started to not care about the problems that occur in lingkuangannya and sika already refer to individualism . While the factors that affect the public perception that experience , customs , religion , social status , gender , education . Among the factors that most affect people's perceptions in this study is the experience and education . To minimize the occurrence rate of premarital sex behavior among adolescents , is expected to society , the elderly , would increase its role in guiding and giving guidance to the young teens that can develop into young people who have insight, smart and become the nation's next formidable.Keywords: public perception, premarital sex, juvenile

Abstract

The background of this research is due to the importance of maintaining local wisdom to maintain the value of social capital values as well as maintaining mutual relations between humans and nature in the production process carried out collectively, for example in the management of traditional land and sago farming. The purpose of this study was to determine the existence of local wisdom in sago farming in Sungai Tohor Village. This research was conducted in Sungai Tohor Village, Tebing Tinggi Timur District, Kepulauan Meranti District. The population in this study was 64 sago farmers. The results of the study revealed that the existence of local wisdom in sago farming in Sungai Tohor Village was in the medium category as much as 67.19%, then those carrying out local wisdom in the low category were 17.19%, and those who were high in carrying out local wisdom up to this research data. only 15.63% of the 64 sago farmers were sampled. Abstract

Tradition is a relic of the ancestors in order to preserve hereditary heritage, in every celebration of tradition has a history so that tradition is carried out every year. Here the author took the Dragon Boat Race Tradition is a tradition of ancestral ancestors of ethnic Chinese people who came from China, the many ethnic Chinese people who entered in the city of Tanjungpinang Riau Islands caused the tradition of Dragon Boat Race starting from 2003 held in Tanjungpinang City and made an annual event of Tanjungpinang . The Tradition which was originally the Sea Sanctuary which was held on the 5th of the 5th month according to the Chinese calendar, the activity was performed to commemorate the death of Qu Yuan which was a single minister at the time of the former empire did not commit mass corruption and the event activity has several stages. The results show that the implementation of the event through several stages: (1) The making of the canoe and the head of the canoe. (2) The prayer of the head of the boat (3) The calling of the loya (4) Eye coloring (5) The drum rhythm. But the stage has faded and not implemented again since the tradition of Dragon Boat Race turned into an event held in the city of Tanjungpinang. The author takes Social Change theory from Sztompka. In the theory of change telling the factors that cause change, one of the factors that cause changes in this tradition is increasing and decreasing the number of residents, a very prominent change is on the religious side.Keywords : Tradition, Dragon Boat Race, Tionghoa

This PT.TIMAH Kundur represent the assistant executor running aid CSR centering from PT.TIMAH residing in Bangka. All aid raised by society which have place to around mining. this PT.TIMAH Kundur pursuant to existing program have to be raised to board of directors of PT.TIMAH Bangka, full located decision at holdingnya. Accepted or don’t it him aid application of pursuant to survey conducted by board of directors. As for intention of this is research: To know the forms program in the CSR PT.TIMAH Thundering Countryside, To know whether execution program the CSR can be felt by Prosperous Source Farmer Group. This Research in determination sampel by using Technique of Simpel Random conducted by taking chosen people who by researcher to be made by sampel. Based for such criterion is Prosperous Source Farmer Group residing in Thundering Countryside [of] Subdistrict of Kundur of West of Regency Karimun. Abstract

It is very necessary to make efforts in the aspect of culture and local wisdom of the Malay community in IV Koto Setingkai Village, Kampar Kiri in forming the identity of the true Malay community. So that the current generation who tends to be ignorant, will be able to know, uphold, foster, preserve, and maintain the values contained in the Malay wedding customs of IV Koto Setingkai Village Kampar Kiri.The type of research is qualitative research with a field study approach (filed research). Data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Informants were taken from traditional stakeholders, village officials, ulama, and the community. The results obtained that: First; The forms of the traditional Malay wedding procession of IV Koto Setingkai Village are: (a) Merisik, (b) Returning ba dunsanak, (c) Opening the sign, (d) Gathering Tunganai, (e) Delivery, (f) Bernai, (g) Marriage contract, and (h) Fresh flour. Second; The socio-cultural values of the community that become the essence of the traditional Malay marriage cultural procession of Desa IV Koto Setingkai are (a) Efforts to become a perfect human being,(b) Fostering relationships with God, fellow humans, and other creatures as well as nature,  (c) Maintaining kinship structure, (d) Becoming a person into Malay, (e) Giving birth to a quality generation, (f) Forming and maintaining Adat, and (g) Consistency in customary law. Based on the researcher's analysis that why the traditional marriage procession in IV Koto Setingkai Village is still sustainable, there are several strategies that are carried out, namely: (a) The activity of the customary government system, (b) Carrying out the customary marriage procession consistently by complying with customary law, and (c) Disseminate advice through oral poetry in an effort to inculcate values.Keywords: Culture, Marriage, Malay

Abstract

The development of various aspects of social, economic and health life is very influential in managing social conditions in society such as the ability of individuals to survive and be able to be in the flow of community development. The role and potential of individuals in society are also assessed from the social adaptability of individuals to be accepted and able to survive in the life of the community. This self potential is not only seen from social factors but involves all factors including age. The potential age is identical to individuals who are in the productive age range such as adolescents and adults, so that in general the view of the public towards age beyond the limits is considered as an inefficient human being and unable to compete economically and socially. But this assumption cannot be denied because there are still many elderly people who are still capable and have the potential to sustain their lives when they are categorized as unproductive. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of the elderly still working at a young age and the impact that occurred on the elderly who were still working. The research method used is qualitatively by taking 5 subjects of elderly workers. Older workers who work in Pekanbaru City Dupa Kencana Market who are over 60 years old. The results of the study show that the elderly work because of an encouragement or an intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The intrinsic factor of the elderly works because the desire from within and comes from the hobby while the extrinsic factor of the elderly works because it is a necessity and limitations and activities to get a role in the middle of the environment.Keywords: Worker, Motivation, Elderly
