Abstract

The study about effect of ferro boron (FeB) additive towards characteristic of hematite (α-Fe2O3) powder has been done. The powders of FeB andα-Fe2O3 was milled with dry milling method using  Planetary Ball Mill (PBM) for 12 hours. Variation of FeB compositions are 4 and 8 wt.%. The milled powder was calcinedat temperatures of  900, 1000 and 1100oC. The characterization of the powders was performed by Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), true density, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The results effect of additives FeB showed an increasing of  particle size which related to decrease of true density of  sample  8 wt.% composition with a value 2.80 μm and 2.47 g / cm3. Respectively the  XRD characterization of sample with 8 wt.%composition with the calcination temperature of 1000 and 1100 °C showed that  iron boride (Fe2B)phase was formed. Maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4) was formed during calcination for non-additive sample. The VSM characterization showing the effect of the calcination temperatureare increasing the magnetic properties  and the addition of FeB tends to lower the magnetic properties within  samples before and aftercalcined.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the effectiveness of maja fruit skin extract as an inhibitor of carbon steel AISI 1020 in a corrosive medium NaCl 3% with variations in immersion time. The samples carbon steel AISI 1020 were immersed in corrosive medium NaCl 3% without being given and given the inhibitor of maja skin extract with a concentration of 0.8% for 5, 15, 25, 35, and 45 days. Calculation of reduction in corrosion rate is carried out by the method of weight loss. The results showed that the addition of the maja fruit skin extract inhibitor was effective in reducing the corrosion rate of the sample with the greatest efficiency at 35 days immersion, which was equal to 72.35%. The results of XRD characterization show that the phase formed is pure Fe and Fe3O4 phase which is a corrosion product is immersed without inhibitor. The results of SEM characterization showed that the microstructure of the surface of the sample after immersion was there were cracks, holes, and lumps which indicated that the sample had been corroded. The results of EDS characterization show that in the soaked sample there were corrosion products in the form of FeO compounds whose magnitude increased every time immersion.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini merupakan bentuk pengemnagnag dalam memanfaatkan daun sirih sebagai hand sanitizer. Kegiatan ini bertempat si Desa Hajimena Kecamatan Natar Lampung Selatan dengan jumlah peserta 33 orang. Daun sirih banyak dijumpai di pekarangan rumah warga dan potensi sebagai antiseptik namun belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik dan budaya cuci tangan dengan baik dan benar sesuai anjuran WHO masih kurang. Permasalahan tersebut mendorong untuk membina masyarakat guna mengelola potensi daun sirih sebagai salah satu tanaman obat keluarga yang dapat dimanfaatkan potensinya untuk pencegahan penyebaran Covid-19 dan memberikan edukasi serta bimbingan teknis untuk membuat hand sanitizer dari ekstrak dauh sirih dikombinasikan dengan formula World Health Organization (WHO) dengan menerapkan teknik yang sederhana sehingga warga dapat mengolahnya secara mandiri, hasilnya masyarakat telah mampu membuat hand sanitizer sendiri, serta bisa mencuci tangah dengan baik dan benar, didukung dengan terjadi peningkatan pencapaian TIK sebelum kegiatan pengabdian adalah 37,67 %. Kemudian, setelah diadakan kegiatan pengabdian terjadi peningkatan pencapaian TIK menjadi 82,32 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pembuatan hand sanitizer berbasis ekstrak daun sirih. Kata kunci: Daun sirih, Hand Sanitizer, Covid-19, World Health Organization  ABSTRACT Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat activity is a form of development in utilizing betel leaf as a hand sanitizer. This activity took place in Hajimena Village, Natar District, South Lampung with 33 participants. Betel leaves are often found in people's yards and have potential as an antiseptic but have not been used properly and the culture of washing hands properly and correctly according to WHO recommendations is still lacking. These problems encourage the community to manage the potential of betel leaf as one of the family medicinal plants whose potential can be utilized to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and provide education and technical guidance to make hand sanitizers from betel leaf extract combined with the World Health Organization (WHO) formula. by applying a simple technique so that residents can process it independently, the result is that the community has been able to make their own hand sanitizer, and can wash their hands properly and correctly, supported by an increase in ICT achievement before service activities was 37.67%. Then, after the service activities were held, there was an increase in ICT achievement to 82.32%. This shows that there is an increase in public knowledge about the manufacture of hand sanitizers based on betel leaf extract.  Keywords: Betle Leaf, Hand Sanitizer, Covid-19, World Health Organization

Abstract

This study was carried out to characterize the formation of crystoballite crystall of silica extracted from rice husk by sintering. Extraction of silica using 5% KOH and 10% HCl solution was sintered at 750, 900, 1000,and 1100 C. The products were characterised in term of functional groups, microstructure and structure (FTIR, SEM and XRD). Characterisation of the silica using FTIR shows the presence of silanol and siloxane. XRD results confirmed that silica amorph was formed at 750C, through the intermediate formation of crystoballite 900, 1000, and 1100C. The formation of crystoballite structure increases with increasing temperature of sintering, which confirms the presence of regular particle size using SEM analysis.Keywords: Rice Husk, Silica, Crystoballite, FTIR, SEM and XRD

Abstract

Penelitian tentang pengaruh variasi penambahan abu ampas tebu dan serat ampas tebu terhadap sifat fisis dan mekanis pada mortar telah dilakukan. Bahan-bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain abu ampas tebu, serat ampas tebu, semen portland, CaCl dan air. Abu ampas tebu diperoleh dari pembakaran ampas tebu pada suhu 700 ˚C selama 2 jam. Serat ampas tebu diperoleh dari pencacahan ampas tebu menggunakan mesin disk mill dengan ayakan berukuran 5 mm. Perbandingan semen, abu ampas tebu dan serat ampas tebu yang digunakan yaitu sampel A (90%:0%:10%), sampel B (85%:5%:10%) dan sampel C (80%:10%:10%), dengan penambahan CaCl sebesar 5% dari massa total dan 250 ml air. Pengujian yang dilakukan yaitu uji fisis (daya serap air dan kerapatan) dan uji mekanis (kuat tekan, kuat lentur dan kuat tarik belah) serta karakterisasi scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). Mortar sampel A masuk dalam kategori mortar tipe S dengan kuat tekan sebesar 132,28 kg/cm2, mortar sampel B masuk dalam kategori mortar tipe M dengan kuat tekan sebesar 176,16 kg/cm2 dan mortar sampel C masuk dalam kategori mortar tipe S dengan kuat tekan sebesar 170,68 kg/cm2, secara keseluruhan sampel C memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi baik secara fisis maupun mekanisnya, mikrostruktur sampel C lebih baik dibandingkan sampel A dan B karena memiliki butiran yang lebih kecil serta terdapat banyak gumpalan yang menyebabkan ukuran pori mengecil sehingga kerapatannya meningkat, penambahan abu ampas tebu meningkatkan jumlah unsur oksigen yang dapat menambah kekuatan mekanis mortar.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Desa Hajimena merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Natar Lampung Selatan. Infrastruktur fasilitas umum dan pendidikan sudah sangat memadai untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar dan pendidikan masyarakat setempat. Kelengkapan infrastuktur yang ada di desa hajimena belum didukung oleh perkembangan sistem informasi yang memadai salah satunya adalah media informasi desa berbasis website. Media informasi desa sangat diperlukan untuk mengikuti perkembangan teknologi informasi yang sangat pesat, dewasa ini tuntutan terhadap sistem informasi berbasis komputer dan internet hampir di segala bidang, baik pemerintahan, industri, bisnis pendidikan, dan bidang lainnya. Permasalahan tersebut mendorong untuk membuat sekaligus membina perangkat desa untuk mengelola website Desa sebagai sarana informasi digital yang di dalamnya terdapat layanan administrasi desa, pelayanan desa, dan profil desa. Metode yanga digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menggunakan teknik ceramah, praktik, dan diskusi. Hasilnya kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan, masyarakat mampu memahami terkait pengelolaan website khususnya adalah operator desa, hal ini didukung dengan terjadi peningkatan pencapaian TIK sebesar 83,5% yang sebelum kegiatan pengabdian yaitu 41,83 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan masyarakat tentang pengelolaan website Desa. Kata Kunci: Hajimena, Layanan, Informasi Digital, Website Desa,   ABSTRACT Hajimena Village is one of the villages in Natar District, South Lampung. The infrastructure of public facilities and education is very adequate to meet the basic needs and education of the local community. The completeness of the existing infrastructure in the Hajimena village has not been supported by the development of sufficient information systems, one of which is the website-based village information media. Village information media is very necessary to keep up with the very rapid information technology, this development of computer and internet-based information systems in almost all fields, be it government, industry, business, education, and other fields. This problem encourages the creation and development of village officials to manage the Village website as a means of digital information in which there are village administration services, village services, and village profiles. The method used in community service activities uses lecture, practice, and discussion techniques .The results of the service carried out, the community is able to understand the management of the website, especially village operators, this is supported by an increase in ICT by 83.5% before service activities, which is 41.83%. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding inhibitors of cacao leaf extract with concentrations of 0%, 3%, 5%, and 7% in 3% NaCl corrosive medium on the corrosion rate of St 37 steel, knowing the effect of cacao leaf extract in inhibiting the corrosion rate of St 37 steel in NaCl solution and knowing the microstructure, phase, and corrosion products on St 37 steel after immersion in NaCl solution. The weight loss method was carried out to determine the value of the resulting corrosion rate. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis showed the presence of tannins in the cacao leaf extract. The X-ray Diffraction (XRD) result shows that the formed phase is pure Fe. It is reinforced by the Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) result, which shows that the more lumps on the steel surface, the fewer Fe elements, and the more FeO corrosion product. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) results show the presence of lumps of various sizes and black holes resulting from corrosion.

Abstract

The research was carried out about the effect of adding corn cob ash on mortar's physical and mechanical properties. Mortar was molded with three compositions, i.e., portland cement, corn cob ash, and corn husk fiber. Corn cob ash was burned at a temperature of 700  for 2 hours. Corn husk fiber was mechanically sliced up to 0.8 mm in size. Then, mortar molding and maintenance were processed for 28 days. The mortars that had reached the age of 28 days were tested according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), including physical properties (density) and mechanical properties (compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting tensile strength). Characterization of microstructure, morphology, and composition of all elements on the mortar's surface was processed using Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). The research results show the influence of adding corn cob ash on mortar's physical and mechanical properties. The mortar with the most optimum physical and mechanical properties has a composition of 82:6:12. The characterization results using SEM-EDS show that the surface of this composition sample is better than other samples. The most dominant elements in the mortar are elements of Ca and Si, which function as mortar binders and hardeners.

Abstract

Research on the analysis of recycling, plutonium, and minor actinides in the Gas Cooled Fast Reactor (GFCR) using SRAC COREBN has been done. This research uses a fuel mixture of uranium, plutonium, and minor actinides. The analysis was conducted with computational simulation using the COREBN code, an additional code to SRAC. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of the addition of plutonium and actinide on the composition of nuclear fuel at the end of reactor operation and the limitation of the value of the multiplication factor (keff at the end of the reactor burn up period). Found in this research is the final value, the multiplication factor (keff) of 1.19964, and the conversion ratio value of 0.766813 in the burn-up period of 1515 days as well as the maximum power density value of 125.85 watts/cm³, the relative power density value at the radius y of 1,230263 and radius x equal to 1.19737 the atomic density value experienced a change in the number of nuclides in the types of nuclides U235, U238, Pu239, Pu241, Np237, and Am243 at the end of the burn-up period.

Abstract

It has been done a variation of CaCO 3, which is 0.95; 1.00; 1.05; and 1,10, through phase formation of BSCCO-2212 superconductor using a wet-mixing method. Samples were dissolved with HNO 3 and distilled by water slowly until the color was clean blue, then gradually dried out at temperatures of 300, 400, and 600 °C. The samples were calcined for 10 hours at 800°C and sintered at 820°C for 20 hours. The XRD's characterization results show that the highest volume fraction was 76.65% in the Ca 1.05 sample. The lowest volume fraction was 49.85% in the Ca 1.10 sample. Meanwhile, the highest degree of orientation was 44.27% in the Ca 1.00 sample, and the lowest degree of orientation was 8.58% in the Ca 1.10 sample. SEM's characterization shows that all samples have been oriented and relatively little space between slabs (voids).
