Abstract

Research has been conducted on the effectiveness of maja fruit skin extract as an inhibitor of carbon steel AISI 1020 in a corrosive medium NaCl 3% with variations in immersion time. The samples carbon steel AISI 1020 were immersed in corrosive medium NaCl 3% without being given and given the inhibitor of maja skin extract with a concentration of 0.8% for 5, 15, 25, 35, and 45 days. Calculation of reduction in corrosion rate is carried out by the method of weight loss. The results showed that the addition of the maja fruit skin extract inhibitor was effective in reducing the corrosion rate of the sample with the greatest efficiency at 35 days immersion, which was equal to 72.35%. The results of XRD characterization show that the phase formed is pure Fe and Fe3O4 phase which is a corrosion product is immersed without inhibitor. The results of SEM characterization showed that the microstructure of the surface of the sample after immersion was there were cracks, holes, and lumps which indicated that the sample had been corroded. The results of EDS characterization show that in the soaked sample there were corrosion products in the form of FeO compounds whose magnitude increased every time immersion.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the composition and crystal structure of the artificial zeolite produced, as well as the ability of artificial zeolite to reduce calcium and magnesium content in hard water. The zeolite was prepared using the hydrothermal method by mixing sodium silicate from Lampung pumice silica, sodium aluminate from aluminum can waste and charcoal from sunshade umbrellas. The artificial zeolite products were characterized using XRF, XRD, UV-Vis spectrophotometric and ICP-EOS. The results showed that the composition of the artificial zeolite was aluminum, silica, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganum and ferum. The crystal structure of the optimum sample from the UV-Vis spectrophotometric characterization obtained the crystal structure of a natural zeolite type, namely Chabazite. And the artificial zeolite which was tested for adsorption on hard water could reduce the calcium content by 36.57% but could not reduce the magnesium content.

Abstract

Desa Banyu Urip memiliki potensi lahan pekarangan yang luas.  Namun demikian, kurang dalam pengelolaan lahan pekarangan. Tujuan kegiatan ini, petani dapat membuat, mengaplikasikan, dan memelihara fertigasi kapiler (fertilizer/pupuk dan irrigation/irigasi)  berbasis konsep fluida.  Fertigasi memungkinkan pemberian pupuk dan air lebih efisien sehingga pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dapat berlangsung sepanjang tahun. Kondisi ini meningkatkan pendapatan petani, khususnya hasil dari lahan pekarangan. Metode yang digunakan ceramah/diskusi, pendampingan terjadwal, dan aplikasi fertigasi. Sasaran kegiatan, Kelompok Tani Mekar Sari Desa Banyu Urip.  Lokasi kegiatan ceramah, diskusi, dan aplikasi fertigasi kapiler di ketua kelompok tani. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan pengetahuan dasar petani meningkat dari 15% menjadi 90%. Pengetahuan tentang fertigasi kapiler berbasis fluida dari 38% menjadi 80%.  Preferensi terhadap fertigasi kapiler berbasis fluida dari 35% menjadi 100%.  Rata rata umum dari 29,33% menjadi 89,33%.
