Abstract

This study aims to examine the differences and effectiveness of using nature-themed image media in poetry writing lessons among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Alasa, North Nias Regency, during the 2024-2025 academic year. The subjects of this study were 28 students. The experimental method with an experimental research design was applied. Data were collected through poetry writing tests and using analyzed statistical tests. The analysis results indicate a significant difference in poetry writing performance between students taught using nature-themed image media and those taught without it. The average score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, demonstrating that using nature-themed image media effectively improves students' poetry writing skills. Furthermore, this media aids students in developing their imagination and a deeper understanding of the given theme, leading to more creative and expressive writing outcomes. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers consider using nature-themed image media in poetry writing lessons to enhance student interest and skills. Visual media relevant to the lesson theme can serve as inspiration for students, improving the quality of their written work.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of caricature drawing media in learning for Class XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Lolofitu Moi during the 2024–2025 academic year. The research focuses on (1) the feasibility of using caricature drawing media, (2) how to effectively implement it, and (3) whether it enables students to express their ideas more effectively. The study employs Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out using essay tests, and both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques were applied. The results indicate an increase in student engagement in learning. In cycle I, 20.00% of students actively participated, which rose to 60.00% in cycle III. Furthermore, the students' ability to use caricature drawing media improved significantly. The average learning outcomes increased from 46.29 in cycle I to 75.43 in cycle II, a gain of 29.14 points, and further increased to 82.57 in cycle III, marking a total improvement of 36.29 points. These findings suggest that caricature drawing media is effective in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes, making it a viable tool for creative and interactive learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the argumentative writing skills of Class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Lolofitu Moi through the application of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model. This model was chosen to help students overcome difficulties in writing arguments. The research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (PTK) with 21 students as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, field notes, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and argumentative writing tests. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, with validity ensured through peer discussions and triangulation. The study's success was measured by improvements in both learning processes and outcomes. The results show that the NHT model received positive responses from students, increasing their engagement and enthusiasm for learning. The average argumentative writing score improved significantly from 57.33 in the pre-action stage to 70.61 at the end of cycle I, and further to 77.04 at the end of cycle II, marking a 32.26% increase. Improvements were observed across various writing aspects: content (13.33%), organization (7.22%), vocabulary (26.94%), language use (17.54%), and mechanics (10.80%). These findings confirm that the NHT model effectively enhances students' argumentative writing skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan krisis moral dalam novel Tanah Para Bandit karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kata-kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang mendukung objek krisis moral yang terdapat dalam novel Tanah Para Bandit. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca dan teknik mencatat data yang ditemukan dalam novel Tanah Para Bandit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukannya krisis moral dalam novel Tanah Para Bandit, berupa tindakan membunuh, mencuri, merampok, korupsi, kolusi, nepotisme, kurangnya kepedulian terhadap kondisi lingkungan sekitar, dan tingginya egoisme dalam berhubungan dengan orang lain

Abstract

This qualitative study explores social and religious interactions in Medan, Indonesia. Medan has many ethnic and religious groups. This diversity makes it a great place to see how communities live together and handle conflicts. Researchers collected data through interviews with community leaders, religious figures, and residents. They also did participant observation and analyzed relevant documents.  The findings indicate that interactions among different groups are mostly positive. People show mutual respect and engage in shared activities. Interfaith talks and joint efforts, usually guided by religious leaders and local governments, improve understanding and tolerance. Yet, some problems persist. These are stereotypes, competition for resources, and the political manipulation of identities. The study highlights the importance of good communication, community efforts, and inclusive policies. These are key to building social cohesion. Medan's diverse culture creates opportunities for positive connections. Still, we must keep working to face challenges and prevent conflicts. This research adds to the discussion on managing diversity and fostering peaceful coexistence in urban Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the ability of fifth grade students of UPT SD Negeri 060939, Medan Amplas District, in the 2024-2025 academic year to use vocabulary and describe the development of vocabulary teaching materials and the abilities of fifth grade students of UPT SD Negeri 060939, Medan Amplas District, in the 2024-2025 academic year. Using samples in class This study was conducted in class V of UPT SD Negeri 060939, Medan Amplas District, in the 2024-2025 academic year, with 60 students divided into 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. By using the experimental class using the development of audio-visual teaching materials in the form of videos and the control class using the development of individual teaching materials in the form of textbooks. This study uses a 2 x 2 Anova research design using the general linear model data analysis technique on SPSS IBM 22, so the research results obtained are 1) there is an increase in the ability of grade V students of UPT SD Negeri 060939 Medan Amplas District in the 2024-2025 academic year to use vocabulary with a sig value 0.05 (0.00 0.05) and 2) there is an influence of the development of vocabulary teaching materials and the ability of grade V students of UPT SD Negeri 060939 Medan Amplas District in the 2024-2025 academic year with a sig value 0.05 (0.00 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the experimental class is better than the control class. The experimental class is more prepared and generates enthusiasm in writing narrative essays, so that events can be informed properly and correctly.

Abstract

The novel "Negeri 5 Menara" is a fictional work that presents an imaginative world, portraying an idealized model of life through intrinsic elements such as events, plots, characters, settings, and points of view. The study aims to explore the values of character education depicted in the novel. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data is collected through reading and understanding the novel. Data analysis includes reading, describing, analyzing, identifying, and drawing conclusions. The novel serves as the primary source for this research. The findings reveal the presence of religious values, discipline, social care, and patience in the novel, providing readers with valuable insights into character education. These values offer a unique enthusiasm for education, making the novel a valuable resource for character development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tindak lanjut penerapan metode simulasi dalam mengembangkan kreativitas dan kemampuan mengapresiasi puisi pada siswa kelas XI SMK Harapan Kecamatan Stabat, Kabupaten Langkat. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan gambaran konkret terhadap efektivitas metode simulasi dalam meningkatkan apresiasi siswa terhadap puisi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dengan subjek penelitian seluruh siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 30 orang. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus, dengan data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen pertanyaan untuk mengukur kemampuan apresiasi puisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I, rata-rata nilai siswa mencapai 72,73 dengan total skor 2.182 dan berada pada kategori cukup. Sedangkan pada siklus II, nilai meningkat menjadi rata-rata 79,62 dengan skor total 2.388, yang menunjukkan bahwa siswa telah mencapai kategori ketuntasan belajar yang baik. Berdasarkan hasil ini, hipotesis diterima dan dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode simulasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengapresiasi puisi. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam mendorong guru untuk menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang aktif, kreatif, dan inovatif dalam pengembangan kompetensi siswa, khususnya dalam bidang apresiasi sastra.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas metode Sugesti Imajinasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa SMA. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya hasil belajar menulis narasi siswa yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang inovatif dan tidak mampu menggugah daya imajinasi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design) model post-test only control group. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Panai Tengah tahun pelajaran 2024/2025, dengan total sampel 74 siswa yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol masing-masing 37 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes menulis karangan narasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai siswa pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 79,8, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 70,2. Uji-t menghasilkan nilai thitung = 6, lebih besar dari ttabel = 1,998, sehingga menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa metode Sugesti Imajinasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis narasi siswa. Metode ini memanfaatkan media lagu sebagai stimulus imajinatif, memungkinkan siswa mengembangkan gagasan secara kreatif dan terstruktur. Oleh karena itu, metode Sugesti Imajinasi layak diterapkan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran menulis narasi di tingkat sekolah menengah.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter dan meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Namun, pembelajaran teks prosedur pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa masih belum optimal. Observasi awal menunjukkan rendahnya antusiasme siswa dan kurangnya pemahaman terhadap struktur dan isi teks prosedur. Permasalahan yang diidentifikasi meliputi: pembelajaran yang belum kontekstual, model pembelajaran yang monoton, keterbatasan media ajar menarik, dan belum optimalnya pemanfaatan teknologi digital. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi ajar teks prosedur berbasis video menggunakan aplikasi CapCut sebagai solusi inovatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) model Sugiyono dengan tahapan: potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi, revisi, uji coba terbatas, dan revisi akhir. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil validasi ahli materi dan media menunjukkan bahwa materi ajar layak digunakan dengan revisi minor. Uji coba terbatas menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap struktur teks prosedur serta meningkatnya minat belajar. Penggunaan CapCut terbukti mampu menyajikan materi pembelajaran secara visual, kontekstual, dan menarik. Dengan demikian, pengembangan materi ajar berbasis aplikasi CapCut dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran teks prosedur. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pemanfaatan teknologi digital sebagai bagian dari inovasi pembelajaran di era digital untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara bermakna.
