Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pola kepekaan bakteri Klebsiella sp. asal babi penderita Penyakit Respirasi Kompleks pada Babi atau Porcine Respiratory Disease Complex (PRDC) terhadap antibiotik ampicillin, sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim dan kanamycin. PRDC adalah penyakit saluran pernapasan pada babi yang disebabkan oleh multimikrob, salah satunya adalah bakteri Klebsiella sp. Klebsiella sp. merupakan bakteri Gram negatif yang mempunyai kemampuan memproduksi enzim Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBL) yang menyebabkan resistansi terhadap antibiotik golongan beta-lactam. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel isolat bakteri Klebsiella sp. bersifat ? hemolitik sebanyak tiga sampel yang telah diisolasi dan diidentifikasi secara konvensional dengan uji primer dan uji biokimiawi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode difusi cakram menurut Kirby-Bauer dengan membuat suspensi bakteri yang kekeruhannya sesuai standar McFarland 0,5. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan mengukur diameter killing zone (mm) yang terbentuk pada masing-masing paper disc. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disesuaikan dengan tabel standar diameter killing zone masing-masing antibiotik. Pola kepekaan yakni resistan, intermediet, dan sensitif disajikan dalam tabel persentase. Hasil yang diperoleh dari tiga sampel Klebsiella sp. menunjukkan yakni ketiga sampel resistan terhadap ampicillin 100%, terhadap sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim sensitif 100%, dan terhadap kanamycin sensitif 100%. Klebsiella sp. resistan terhadap ampicillin, dan ketiga sampel sensitif terhadap sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim dan kanamycin.

Abstract

Peternakan babi merupakan salah satu usaha yang potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai komoditas ekspor, sumber protein, dan sumber pendapatan keluarga. Limbah babi berasal dari campuran sisa-sisa pakan, minuman, urin, feses, serta air cucian bekas memandikan babi. Limbah babi yang mengandung bakteri E. coli menyebabkan pencemaran terhadap lingkungan di sekitarnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui jumlah bakteri E. coli yang terdapat pada limbah peternakan babi di Kabupaten Badung, Provinsi Bali. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dan pemilihan lokasi peternakan dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Lokasi pengambilan sampel di kecamatan Petang, Abiansemal, Mengwi dan Kuta Utara. Jumlah peternakan yang menjadi sampling di setiap kecamatan adalah sebanyak tiga peternakan. Volume sampel limbah yang diambil disetiap peternakan sebanyak 500 mL, selanjutnya dari tiga peternakan tersebut dilakukan komposit menjadi satu sampel. Media yang digunakan untuk menumbuhkan bakteri E. coli adalah media Eosin Metilene Blue Agar (EMBA). Sampel yang ditumbuhkan dalam media EMBA di setiap kecamatan sebanyak 0,1 mL dengan menggunakan metode sebar (spread plate method). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa terdapat bakteri E. coli dalam limbah peternakan babi di Kecamatan Petang sebesar 90 x 107CFU/mL, Abiansemal 33 x 107 CFU/mL, Mengwi 11 x 107 CFU/mL dan Kuta Utara 9 x 107 CFU/mL. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa limbah peternakan babi di Kecamatan Petang, Abiansemal, Mengwi, dan Kuta Utara Kabupaten Badung, Propinsi Bali mengandung bakteri E. coli yang jumlahnya melebihi standar baku mutu.

Abstract

Penyakit saluran pernapasan pada babi dikenal dengan nama porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC). Penyakit ini disebabkan oleh berbagai agen penyakit antara lain bakteri, virus, dan parasit atau gabungan agen tersebut sehingga dikenal sebagai multi microbial disease. Klebsiella sp. merupakan salah satu bakteri yang berpotensi patogen menyebabkan terjadinya PRDC pada babi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bakteri Klebsiella sp. yang berpotensi patogen pada saluran pernapasan atas babi penderita PRDC. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel swab rongga hidung babi yang menunjukkan gejala klinis penyakit saluran pernapasan atas dengan jumlah 21 sampel yang berasal dari Kabupaten Badung dan Kabupaten Tabanan. Isolasi Klebsiella sp. dilakukan pada media Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA) dan Sheep Blood Agar (SBA). Identifikasi bakteri selanjutnya dilakukan dengan pewarnaan Gram, uji katalase, uji oksidase, Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), Sulfide Indole Motility (SIM), Methyl Red Voges Proskauer (MRVP), Simmon Citrate Agar (SCA) dan uji gula-gula seperti sukrosa, laktosa, glukosa, dan manitol. Peralatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tabung Eppendorf, cotton swab, cool box, masker, hands glove, cawan petri, hot plate, magnetic stirrer, inkubator, autoclave, osse, laminar air flow, bunsen, gelas beker, labu Erlenmeyer, tabung reaksi, objek gelas, mikroskop, kertas label, timbangan digital, aluminium foil, kamera, gunting dan alat tulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 21 sampel yang diisolasi, tiga sampel menunjukkan hasil positif bakteri Klebsiella sp. dengan kemungkinan spesies yaitu K. Pneumoniae. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ditemukan bakteri Klebsiella sp. pada saluran pernapasan atas babi penderita PRDC sebanyak 14% (tiga dari 21 sampel) yang berasal dari Kabupaten Badung.

Abstract

Sixteen isolates of group C streptococci taken during outbreak in pigs and monkeys in Bali were examined for their haemaglutination activities using 2% erythrocyte suspension from pigs. Five isolates (31,25%) showed very strong (++) result with geometric titer mean of 22.8, other isolates (31,25%) gave strong (+) results with geometric titer mean of 22 and the remain six isolates (37,5%) showed weak or negative haemagglutination activities. Nonencapsulated bacteria yielded haemagglutination activities stronger than encapsulated. Treatments with heating up to 90 °C, HCl extraction and opsonization reduced haemagglutination titers.

Abstract

Have performed community service on Treatment of Diarrhea (Colibacillosis) In Pigs In Effort Improving Livestock Productivity in Sudimara village, Tabanan. This dedication is aimed at providing knowledge to the public about how to manage pigs intensively, ways of prevention and eradication of the disease in pigs kolibasilosis effectively and efficiently so as to maximize their production. Methods of service in the form of the action from home to home, especially to farmers whose pigs diarrhea, held a therapeutic action in the form of antibiotics, anthelmintic, vitamins and minerals and to provide education on how to prevent diarrhea in pigs. The results obtained as follows: the team held a service from house to house on seven breeder pigs reportedly suffering from diarrhea. Pig diarrhea ranging from 1-3 months of age and the amount treated as many as 65 individuals. Based monitoring and reporting team community service founded that on the seventh day after the treatment was given these pigs had not diarrhea or healthy.

Abstract

Sapi bali merupakan merupakan sumber daya genetik sapi asli Indonesia. Keberadaannya sudah tersebar ke seluruh Indonesia, bahkan sampai ke negara Malaysia dan Timor Leste. Sebagai ternak potong, sapi bali terus ditingkatkan kualitas dan kuantitasnya dengan cara penerapan teknologi manajemen pembibitan maupun penggemukan yang diikuti dengan penanganan gangguan kesehatan hewan. Kegiatan program ini meliputi rekonstruksi kandang, pemilihan bibit yang unggul, penanganan kesehatan hewan, dan pengolahan limbah. Pakan yang diberikan berasal dari lingkungan sekitarnya yang ditambah dengan konsentrat, dedak dan mineral. Penerapan kegiatan ini akan menghasilkan komoditas peternakan sapi bali yang berkualitas, yang berdampak pada peningkatan pendapatan peternak dan memberikan berkontribusi pada percepatan pembangunan ekonomi nasional. Model peternakan ini dapat dijadikan pilot project bagi peternak disekitarnya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Swines are the most important livestock to Balinese people because raising the swines could analogized with save the money.. Beside that balines people considering swine livestock also have economically value for religious ceremonial. Field observation indicated that some disease can threating the swine, one of these is Hog cholera. Hog cholera is a highly contagious viral disease of swine that occur in acute, a subacute, a chronic or a persistent form. In Order to protect the Bali cattle against this disease need conducting regularly vaccination. By vaccination can improvement cattle immunity against this disease. The objective this services is reducing economic loss due to Hog cholera infection and also increased farmes an understanding to this disease. .

Abstract

Avian colibacillosis is an infectious disease caused by avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC). APEC ability to cause disease depends on many pathogenic factors, one of them is iroN pathogenic gene. This study purposed to find out iroN gene sequence in APEC in Bali. Two APEC isolates from free range chicken in Tabanan dan Badung has been used. The isolates have been been purified and were available at Laboratory of Veterinary Bacteriology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University. Chelex 10%was used for DNA isolation. DNA amplification using published DNA primer has been conducted with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. The PCR product was sequenced at First Base Laboratories, Malaysia using Sanger’s Dideoxy Nucleotide Termination method. The iroN gene of both isolates can be analyzed and have 659 bp in length. Both were 100% homologous. Phylogenic test using 52 DNA sequence of iroN gene from Escherichia coli and other bacteria in the world was conducted in MEGA 5.2. All data have 24 polymorphic sites of nucleotide acid and eight polymorphic sites of amino acid. The iroN gene of Bali isolates was in the same group as iroN gene from Australia (MF174860) and Hong Kong (MF474175). This gene can be used as pathogenic marker of APEC in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract. This research purpose is to determine the characteristics of pH rumen fluid and the amount of microbes in the rumen of Bali cattle. The research sample is healthy bali cattle rumen fluid which is slaughtered at Pesanggaran slaughterhouse Denpasar with a total of 30 samples. The research method uses conventional methods and refers to the method according to [6]. The total population of bacterial and fungal colonies was calculated by the pour plate method. Bacterial colonies were cultured on nutrient agar plates and fungi colonies were cultured on sabouraud dextrose agar plates. The Population of Enterobacteriaceae bacterial colonies was calculated by scatter method on Mac Conkey agar plate and Escherichia coli colony on Eosin Methylen Blue agar plate. Rumen liquid pH measurement is directly done with pH indicator strips. The study was conducted observationally and the data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the total number of bacteria in the rumen fluid of Bali cattle with an average of 64x104 cfu/g, the number of fungal colonies with an average of 161x105 cfu/ g, the number of Coliform colonies was 23x104 cfu/g, the number of non-Coliform 28x103 cfu/g, E.coli 18x103 cfu/g and the mean The pH of Balinese cattle rumen fluid 6.9. Abstract

Study in order to detect the presence of Haemophilus parasuis in pig farms in Tabanan, Badung, and Gianyar Bali have been undertaken. A total of 197samples including nasal and tracheal swabs, organs and synovial fluids were collected from 69, 28 and 100 animals from pig farms in Tabanan, Badung and Gianyar regency, respectively. Samples were collected mainly from animals which showing clinical signs of coughing, asphyxiate, swollen joints and death animals. Isolation and identification of Haemophilus spp was performed following the methods described by Priadi et.al. (2004) and Nedbalkova et al. (2006) with slightly modification. Antimicrobial sensitivity test was performed using the disc diffusion method by Kirby Bauer.Haemophilus parasuis was detected from one sample which shown resistant to streptomycin only and sensitive to ampicillin, doxycycline and kanamycin, respectively.
