Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity is aimed to optimalize the processing of fresh catfish and increase the knowledge, understanding, and ability of participants regarding the processing of catfish floss without oil as an alternative processing of fresh catfish, also obtain healthier fish floss. Methodology: This activities carried out through several stages, starts from the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The method used is to provide some theory and practice online using Zoom Meeting. Catfish floss without oil is processed with several stages such as fish preparation, steaming, mashing, and roasting. Results: Participants know in theory the benefits, handling, and diversification of processed catfish, especially fish floss without oil. Participans can also practice directly processing fish floss without oil, thus creating opportunities for a home industry that specifically processes catfish cultivation in Buyut Ilir village. The processed products produced are expected to increase the consumption and economic conditions, especially Buyut Ilir village. Conclusion: Participants know in theory the benefits, handling, and diversification of processed catfish, especially fish floss without oil. Participants also practiced directly processing of fish floss without oil, thus creating opportunities for a home industry that specifically processes catfish cultivation in Buyut Ilir village. This community service activity also has increased the knowledge, understanding, and ability of participants regarding the processing of catfish floss without using oil as an alternative processing of fresh catfish and make healthier catfish floss.

Abstract

Tawes fish (Puntius javanicus) is a freshwater fish that is easy to cultivate but tawes fish can spawn naturally only during the rainy season. Meanwhile, the market demand for tawes is increasing and the availability of seeds is not enough to meet market demand. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to apply technological advances in the form of a biostimulator for the development of Tawes fish farming business. The biostimulator used is a laser. Several studies state that the application of the use of soft lasers can be used to accelerate gonadal maturation. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of fertility and fertilization of tawes fish (Puntius javanicus), as well as to determine the level of abdominal thickness after laserpuncture exposure to prospective female parents. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a completely randomized design. This study consisted of 5 treatments with 1 control with each treatment being repeated 3 times, laserpuncture exposure treatment in 2/6 parts of the body once a week for 1 month. Treatment duration of exposure to laserpuncture for 2 seconds, 4 seconds, 6 seconds, 8 seconds and control. The results showed that exposure to different laserpuncture beams gave highly significant different results on the fertility of tawes fish. The best treatment was exposure to laserpuncture for 6 seconds with a fertilization value of 95.20%. The water quality during the study was within normal limits for tawes life which included a temperature of 27.80C, dissolved oxygen (DO) of 7.58 mg/l and a pH of 7.65.

Abstract

Program ini bertujuan memupuk keterampilan dalam peningkatan kapasitas komunikasi organisasi siswa-siswi di Desa Selensen Kecamatan Kemuning untuk mengolah organisasi sekolah dan menjadikan OSIS sebagai wadah belajar mengelola waktu, meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi, memperluas wawasan dan meningkatkan pengetahuanserta mengasah kemampuan sosial dalam memperluas jaringan sehingga menjadi kuat dalam menghadapi tekanan. Kegiatan dilaksanan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan pendampingan yang melibatkan dosen, mahasiswa serta Siswa-siswi OSIS SMKN1 Tuah Kemuning Desa Selensen. Sasaran utama kegiatan ini yaitu Siswa-siswi yang aktif dalam kepengurusan OSIS SMKN1 Tuah Kemuning. Sosialisasi merupakan langkah awal dari rencana kegiatan ini. Kemudian selanjutnya proses pelatihan dan pendampingan peningkatan kapasitas komunikasi organisasi OSIS SMKN1 Tuah Kemuning sehingga menjadi organisasi yang baik melalui komunikasi organisasi yang efektif dan efesien. Diharapkan program ini terlaksana dan dapat mencapai salah satu tujuan program yaitu para siswa-siswi pelatihan bisa menerapkan komunikasi organisasi yang efektif dan efesien dalam mencapai tujuan organisasi dan keberlajutan organisasi kedepannya. Sehingga pelatiahan peningkatan kapasitas komunikasi organisasi dapat membantu memotivasi siswa-siswi SMKN1 Tuah Kemuning dalam berorganisasi.

Abstract

Tingginya aktivitas pertanian di Desa Tebat Laut, menyebabkan Desa Tebat Laut menjadi salah satu penyumbang limbah organik hasil aktivitas pertanian di Kabupaten Kepahiang yang berupa kulit kopi. Hal ini dikarena oleh luasnya areal perkebunan kopi di Desa Tebat Laut yang mencapai 436 ha setengah dari luasan areal pemukimam masyarakat. Dari aktivitas pertanian tersebut, meninggalkan kulit kopi sebagai limbah pertanian yang hingga saat ini belum sepenuhnya mampu dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Adapun jumlah rata-rata kulit kopi yang dihasilkan pada saat pengolahan pascapanen yaitu mencapai 80–150 kg per harinya. Berdasarkan hal itu, penulis merasa perlu diadakan sosialisasi dan pelatihan mengenai biokonversi limbah organik kulit kopi menjadi kompos untuk media pembibitan tanaman. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan bentuk penyuluhan, demo cara, praktik dan pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peserta mengapresiasi IPTEK yang dikenalkan kepada mereka dan menerima informasi dengan baik.

Abstract

Pertanian dan perikanan merupakan bidang yang sangat penting dalam produksi makanan manusia. Kabupaten Rejang Lebong merupakan pusat produksi pertanian yang menonjol di Provinsi Bengkulu. Terletak di ketinggian antara 500 hingga 1.300 meter di atas permukaan laut, Rejang Lebong memiliki sumber daya alam yang melimpah. Mayoritas penduduknya terlibat dalam kegiatan pertanian, baik sebagai petani maupun buruh tani. Desa Mojorejo salah satu desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Selupu Rejang, yang merupakan bagian dari Kabupaten Rejang Lebong, Provinsi Bengkulu. Salah satu kelompok tani yang terdapat di Desa Mojorejo adalah Kelompok Tani Putra Tani Sejahtera. Kelompok tani ini bergerak pada sektor pertanian, baik subsektor hortikultura dan perikanan yang merupakan pemuda tani milenial gencar melaksanakan kegiatan untuk menambah ilmu dan keterampilan selain karena peduli dengan program pertanian berkelanjutan juga peduli dengan isu stunting yang merupakan program dan isu prioritas di Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Lahan pekarangan dimanfaatkan agar menjadi lebih produktif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan keluarga melalui kegemaran menanam sayuran tanpa media tanah dan perikanan dengan cara yang sederhana dan dapat dilakukan oleh masyarakat. Budikdamber (Budidaya ikan dalam ember) dan hidropnik merupakan teknik pengembangan alternatif budidaya ikan dan sayuran pada lahan terbatas Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan, demonsrasi cara/ praktik langsung dan pendampingan disertai evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peserta mengapresiasi kegiatan yang dilaksanakan dan menerima informasi dengan baik.

Abstract

Seberang Musi sub-district launched a food security program through catfish farming using tarpaulins in 2020. This is one way for the sub-district government to socialize household-scale fish farming, especially catfish commodities, so that people get additional income benefits by utilizing the yard around the house. The problems that exist in the residents of Talang Babatan Village and Benuang Galing Village are the lack of technical skills in fish farming, because both villages are villages that produce plantation products. Therefore, the service team was invited to provide training in an effort to succeed the village development program. In addition to being an effort to alleviate poverty in rural communities, and accelerate poverty alleviation programs in rural areas. The purpose of this activity is to provide training in catfish farming in tarpaulin ponds as well as a medium for disseminating knowledge and transferring technology through community service activities. The methods used were: 1. counseling to participants about catfish farming in tarpaulin ponds; 2. demonstration of methods and practices by giving examples of how to assemble tarpaulins as maintenance containers and how to handle fish directly to participants; 3. evaluation. The collected data were tabulated and analyzed using descriptive analysis method. The purpose of the evaluation was to assess the response of participants in the transfer of knowledge and skills. This was done by assessing the results of the initial and final questionnaires filled out by the participants. The results of the questionnaire showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge by 12.5% with a minimum value in the pre-test of 37.5 and a maximum value of 87.5 while the minimum value in the post-test was 50.0 and a maximum value of 87.5.

Abstract

Broth is a flavoring product which is generally produced from the process of cooking high-protein ingredients such as meat with water, with or without other additions. The flavoring broth that is favored generally made from chicken and beef, although fish and shrimp and even their waste can also be used to make natural flavoring broth. This research aims to determine the level of consumer preference of flavoring powder broth made from 3 ingredients/samples, namely snakehead fish waste, tiger prawn waste and rebon shrimp. This research was carried out by making powdered broth and hedonic test to determine the level of preference from consumers. This test used 25 semi-trained panelists with color, aroma, texture and taste parameters. The test results showed that flavoring powder broth made from snakehead fish waste was preferred by consumers in terms of texture, broth made from tiger prawn waste was highly preferred in terms of taste parameters, and samples made from rebon shrimp as raw materials were preferred in terms of color and aroma parameters

Abstract

The economic structure of Bengkulu Province is still dominated by agriculture, forestry and fisheries businesses, one of which is in Teladan Village, Rejang Lebong Regency. One of the productive businesses that can be developed is catfish hatchery. However, this activity has not been running optimally due to several obstacles and barriers such as the lack of public understanding of catfish cultivation, especially the availability of quality and sustainable seeds. This activity aims to make a positive contribution to the community through empowering productive businesses that are in accordance with the needs and potential of the community, so as to improve the welfare and independence of the community. The method used in community service activities is to use participatory methods, namely methods that involve the community as partners and subjects of activities through socialization and training activities. Based on the results of distributing pre-test and post-test questionnaires to participants of the socialization and training of catfish hatcheries, the increase in knowledge of participants increased by 33.34% and the level of participant satisfaction with the implementation of activities includes adequate catfish hatchery equipment available (73.21%); explanation of presenters and technicians is very easy to understand (80.36%); fish hatchery training can be done continuously (71.43%), can increase participant income (80.36%); catfish hatchery training is very useful for participants (80.36%). In conclusion, the activities that have been carried out can improve the knowledge, skills, economic and social aspects of the community.

Abstract

Silkworm culture media (Tubifex sp.) are very important because it can be affected on growth and nutrient content of silkworm, such as fruit and vegetable waste. The waste disposal of fruit and vegetable in Rejang Lebong Regency have not been used properly, therefore this counseling aims of management of the waste of fruit and vegetable as and environmentally friendly silkworm culture media in Talang Rimbo Lama, Rejang Lebong Regency. The approach used includes meeting with the partnership, counseling, demonstrating, and evaluating. The counseling was interactive and communicative, and participants showed that considerable interest on materials presented. This counseling can improve knowledges and skills about silkworm cultivation and the use of the waste of fruit and vegetable as a silkworm culture media.

Abstract

Kelompok Pembudidaya Ikan Sekar Wangi di Desa Kayu Manis, Kecamatan Selupu Rejang, Kabupaten Rejang Lebong menghadapi permasalahan penjualan ikan nila yang masih terbatas pada ikan segar dengan nilai ekonomi rendah dan fluktuatif, serta pemanfaatan limbah tulang dan kepala ikan yang belum optimal. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan mitra dalam mengolah limbah ikan nila menjadi produk stik ikan bernilai ekonomi tinggi yang diberi nama LaStik. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei dan analisis kebutuhan, pelatihan teknik pengolahan dengan demonstrasi cara dan praktik langsung, serta monitoring dan evaluasi menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada dimensi pengetahuan sebesar 71,6% dengan N-Gain 0,706 kategori tinggi dan dimensi keterampilan sebesar 29,2% dengan N-Gain 0,376 kategori sedang. Tingkat kepuasan peserta mencapai 79,2% persen dengan kategori puas. Dari 18 peserta pelatihan, 80% berhasil membuat produk LaStik dengan standar kualitas yang baik. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan nilai tambah hasil budidaya ikan nila dan membuka peluang ekonomi baru bagi kelompok pembudidaya.
